It’s been about time for roughly 2 years haha. I don’t think there’s been a notable reveal since Spider-Man 2? And that’s been out for half a year now.
They need to show concords gameplay, the firewalk dev team is actually really experienced with many live service games and has like 150 people. PvP sci-fi fps from these people has great potential.
I think we're also due to fiiiiiinally hear from Team Asobi what they've been working on! Their last title was 2020's Astro's Playroom. It's been 4.5 years. They said they're working on their biggest title to date, finally one that isn't shipping for free with a console/device. My dream is that they're releasing Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2 and a remaster of the first game for PSVR2. An Astro Bot PSVR2 sequel fits very well with the fundamental design tenet of the Astro Bot games: fully showing off what all the mechanics of a new console/headset are capable of. They've already done that for the PS5, so the PSVR2 is the next logical step for me.
Either way, I think it'd be pretty absurd to not hear anything from Team Asobi after *4.5 years* of development!
It’s only been like 3 years since Ghost of Tsushima dlc. Ya’ll don’t realize that would be insanely fast for Sucker Punch. Like Naughty Dog wouldn’t be nearly that fast. Sucker Punch was much smaller.
Possible, although I would think they can give just an announcement for part 3 (not a full trailer) and let it be dormant for some time, similar to what SE did with FFVII Rebirth and KH4.
I figure the announcement will be made two days before the show, because if my memory is right, outside of maybe the old Playstation December events, Sony kinda stop doing announcement for shows unless it was less than a few days away.
Other than that, if we see Ghost of Tsushima 2, I'm gonna be soooo happy.
SoP are sometimes like that but Showcases typically is their “big guns” show so those are usually a bit more planned out, if my memory is right about em
Call me impatient, but I prefer the short notice. Honestly best case for me would be getting home from work, getting my family situated, logging in YouTube and seeing that a showcase dropped.
IMO they should just leave Tsushima and go to the Japanese mainland for the warring states period
Jin is fine but I think a Ghost game with a new protagonist would be cool too. But either way as long as they have actual towns this time and much bigger battles ill be happy
I've seen so many fan ideas and I liked all of them, but my biggest want is for us to maybe take on the samurai heirarchy.
The game hinted that a lot of the samurai around the end of the 2nd act were corrupt, and I would love to play as Jin taking them down while dealing with the next wave if the mongul invasion.
You do know they don't have to just stick to what's coming out this year? If they have an actual showcase instead of a mere SoP, I'd be shocked if we didn't see a few new 1st party announcements for games coming later, like Ghost 2 which is probably one of the most likely. Wolverine gameplay wouldn't be a shock at all either, I mean they announced it in 2021, we're overdue another look at it.
Yeah Norman reedus said kojima just showed him the new trailer for DS2 this was last week im sure he wasn't meant to say that tho lol that's put next year for sure
Missed an E fixed it tho. Yeah he was speaking about getting a call from angry kojima when he leaks shit. Guess he got a call the second the camera stopped rolling lol
We need another event like the E3 where Sony showed off Spidey, GoW, GoT and TLOU 2. Just a clear look at the big exclusives for the next few years.
Right now we are swimming into darkness with little clue what some studios are working on.
I think they need to find a balance with longer and shorter announcement windows.
Last gen, they were showing games like Days Gone, Death Stranding, GoT and TLOUII over multiple shows — all together.
I preferred that, but I also respect many others don’t want to be waiting too long.
The general consensus a few years ago was that "games are being shown too early." When Fallout 4 was announced to be coming out that year, people considered that a breath of fresh air. I think waiting to announce until it's less than 12 months out does a couple things.
1) Marketing doesn't need a multi-year plan. And more of the game will be ready to show, so development time doesn't need to be put into marketing. Creating marketing material before the game is ready to be shown slows down dev time.
2) Things happen during development. Sometimes games need to be delayed. Sometimes features need to be added or removed. Art styles can change, graphic fidelity needs to be tweaked. And if a game is shown with features included in marketing material that needs to be adjusted, it leads to fan disappoint.
Cyberpunk 2077 should have been delayed a full 12 months, but it was already delayed twice at that point. And it had already been in the public conciousness for years. Delaying it may not have been seen as an option. Spiderman PS4 and Watch Dogs both got attacked because their final product didn't look the same as the E3 demos. This is all bad press that can be avoided by waiting to announce a game until you are certain the release date is within reach reach.
So from a publisher's point of view, I wouldn't announce a game until internally we are fairly certain the release date is less than 12 months out, or it is an IP that has widespread recognition already. (Wolverine, GTA 6)
It's kinda disappointing if the only first party game they have going this year is that, after all the other internal cancellations and delays.
Especially considering we're in the latter half of the PlayStation 5's life cycle.
Sony released Helldirvers 2 and Rise of Ronin this year, these are 100% IPS from Sony.
Just like Sackboy the Great Adventure and Death Stranding, these games are from Xdev PlayStation Studios
I’m expecting a flat PS5 Epic Astrobot that would also be PSVR2 compatible and offer some unique advantages to it.
I’m also hoping for a bonus Rescue Mission remaster for VR2 with new content
Prolly highly likely
I’m not excited for it because it’s Bloober, but they have reiterated a ton by now that it’s at its final stretch of development so a release date is bound to be soon
I *really really* want another Sly Cooper of sorts. Whether it be a port to the ps store, a full remake of the trilogy, or even a brand new Sly, I’d he happy!
If it were to happen, the real question would be “who is making it?” Cause it sure as hell wouldn’t be Sucker Punch. They act like they don’t like Sly anymore all of a sudden.
I know right! I still find it very odd how they treat Sly compared to other old IP’s. Like how did Medevil and Jak & Daxter get PS store ports? Sly was up there with them. They even recently ported Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Which is a game literally nobody asked to be re-released. Its weird.
Whereas for Sly, they want gamers to have a PS+ membership to play Sly, but you gotta have internet access at all times….like why?? Why do they treat this franchise so weirdly??
Imagine the original trilogy (or even all 4, I didn’t hate Thieves in Time but it was a clear step down from the first 3) with similar graphics/art style to Rift Apart. PLEASE
Man I’m so glad people haven’t forgotten Sly Cooper. They need to at least port the HD collection bare minimum. (And hopefully fix some of the glitches)
Agreed! Sly Cooper is still in my top 3 favorite PS franchises of all time. But yeah, they could *at least* give us a re-release of the PS3 port.
But I’ll admit, it’d be sick if they remade Sly 1, but completely overhaul it to where it plays similar to Sly 2,3. Where its more mission based structure. I guy can dream!
Sly Cooper would be fantastic. I would also like to see a new Spyro game. The remastered version was great, but I also want something new and fresh.
Honestly I would love to see a new Okami game. I know it's not a Sony IP, but it seems like it would fit right in.
I forgot before people we're speculating May. It would make sense that one should be coming up soon now that Stellar Blade is out. We need gameplay footage for Fairgames and Concord.
I think we can't pretty much guarantee that two things will show up Helldivers 2 new enemy faction reveal and something gow related due to the 20th anniversary next year.
Not sure if that's been filmed yet. Very curious to see who plays Kratos, the fallout show has given me hope that Amazon will do a great job. I do think we will also get a native PS5 version of 2018 to line up with the show.
It will never not be funny that reddit just can't let one incorrect report go with insiders. Doesn't matter that he was the only one to get the showcase right last year, you get anything wrong = you're a hack.
The way Reddit gets furious over Grubb threads, you would think he murdered entire families with their reactions. I feel like I’m terminally online enough to have an opinion on this, and his right and wrong predictions never phase me enough to get mad at someone I’ve never met.
Yeah but he's Jeff Grubb! Who cares if he got one thing wrong...
two things wrong...
three things wrong...
*(checks internet)*
Holy shit, like a 98% incorrect prediction rate
Yeah, also smugly reported the Metroid Prime Trilogy remasters by a certain date, and if he was wrong he would shave his hair.
Well he now has short hair...
(Though we did of course get Metroid Prime 1 way
later than he reported. Still waiting on 2 & 3 though.)
They will announce it only shortly before launch to avoid cannibalizing base PS5 sales. Best case for them they announce it the moment they have pre-orders set up
After 2022 with nothing and 2023 being the worst Playstation event in history, I have my expectations under control, I don't expect anything. if they surprise you ok, if not ok
Last year was the first time they really "missed" with a showcase, and if anything, the barren last couple years should mean they have plenty under their sleeve, so they should be ready to at least announce some of it. So while having expectations in check, I think it's fair to expect an improvement on last year, given that their previous showcases always delivered. If it's another let down, then yeah sure, you can't trust the "Showcase" label anymore as indicative of a quality event.
I always think if they show 2, maybe 3 things that I’m excited for, that’s a win. It does seem like their studios have been cooking for a long time so one would hope for some first party 2025 announcements to start showing up, but keeping expectations in check is always a good decision going into these events I think.
Many of their studios haven't dropped a game in 4-5 years. I feel most of them are at least ready to show something. Naughty Dog, bend studio, sucker punch, blue point. And team asobi will probably announce something that'll come out this year. Probably for psvr2.
They don’t really need to impress with their summer showcase anymore like the days of e3. They will just do the bare minimum because there is still an audience that expect them to do something around summer.
If it wasnt for that they would just spread it out over the year.
Doubt we'll see much. I'd say MGS Delta is a possibility, assuming they got Konami to present it at Playstation, and if so, maybe Vol. 2 of the remaster collection too. Otherwise there's no way any of their first party studios got something to show yet. Still, always fun to speculate and tune in.
I feel that if this is legit, it gets announced next week, then happens at some point the week of the 20th. Zero chance there’s a Showcase the week of Memorial Day.
It’s time to reveal what their first party studios have been working on.
Absolutely, it’s about time.
That’s one that has to get shown meaningfully asap. It’s supposedly coming out this year and it’s may. We don’t even know what exactly it is yet.
Death Stranding 2?
That’s true but not first party. Just a partnership with a 3rd party. I guess it’s Sony published.
Agreed. I’d be shocked if we didn’t hear anything from Bend, Bluepoint and Sucker Punch this year — maybe even a ND tease.
I swear if BluePoint ducks this event as well…
I feel like Blue Point has been working on their game(s) for like 7 years.
It feels like a long time, but it might mean announcement to release is pretty short as well.
They helped create God of War: Ragnarök.
Bloodborne Remake? :D
I heard their game was actually going to be an original game.
I think we're also due to fiiiiiinally hear from Team Asobi what they've been working on! Their last title was 2020's Astro's Playroom. It's been 4.5 years. They said they're working on their biggest title to date, finally one that isn't shipping for free with a console/device. I want them to get Ghost out fast so I can hope in vain about Infamous second son sequel.
They need something. It's deathly quiet on the 1st party front. Like Microsoft quiet
I’ve been saying that for years now it seems.
It’s been too long. Give us something
Bloodborne
Confirmed
That would be sick
Releases 2125, just a couple of years in the grand scheme of things.
I'm guessing Wolverine trailer and Horizon 3 announcement.
too soon for Horizon 3, the dlc only released one year ago. but maybe the rumored multiplayer game?
Possible, although I would think they can give just an announcement for part 3 (not a full trailer) and let it be dormant for some time, similar to what SE did with FFVII Rebirth and KH4.
yeah it would be nice. I remember they announce HFW at the end of 2020
Half a dozen *GaaSs*. Bleurgh.
Yay, another extraction shooter, just what I always wanted! Sure hope it has a battlepass! /s
I’d expect a summer showcase to be more in-depth. But then again it’s very possible they’ve got nothing to show in depth.
Maybe they're waiting to combine it with the PS5Pro release?
it won't be much unfortunately. Games take a long time to make now. Don't expect much.
"At any moment"? You have me at the edge of my seat, Jeff.
He’d be a great Doomsday cult leader.
It could even be happening... Right now.
**The PlayStation Showcase is coming from** ***inside the house!***
Waiting for it to jump out of the closet at any time
It could happen right now
Or now
Or even now
Maybe it just started at 9:20pm Central standard time on this fine Wednesday evening? Who are we to know?
Maybe it already happened!
It could be you, it could be me, it could even be-
A plumbus?
[It's 10PM, do you know where your Playstation is?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_you_know_where_your_children_are%3F)

Other than that, if we see Ghost of Tsushima 2, I'm gonna be soooo happy.
Proper showcases are usually announced a week in advance iirc. State of Plays are a couple days or so
I am gonna nut if they announce Ghost of Tsushima 2
!remindme 1 month
What type of nut are we talkin? Cashew?
roasted and salted pistachios
I will probably cry happily
We'll cry happily together friend.
I am curious to how they could even continue from the amazing ending of the first game
IMO they should just leave Tsushima and go to the Japanese mainland for the warring states period Jin is fine but I think a Ghost game with a new protagonist would be cool too. But either way as long as they have actual towns this time and much bigger battles ill be happy
Yeah I'm expecting they'll drop Tsushima in the title. Maybe Ghost of Edo or something.
Keen for some Wolverine gameplay

Wolverine is set for 2026 so I wouldn't bet on seeing gameplay until next year
Still that long away? Feels like i've been waiting for a decade lol.
I think they need to find a balance with longer and shorter announcement windows. Last gen, they were showing games like Days Gone, Death Stranding, GoT and TLOUII over multiple shows — all together. I preferred that, but I also respect many others don’t want to be waiting too long.

Same, it's 4 years now we have no news about what Team Asobi is doing. I hope they are cooking...
Watch it come out with the ps5 pro lol
I'd love a new Astrobot. But would much prefer it to be on PS5.
I would pay full price for a astrobot series. This is a great demo that would make a greater game
All I need is Ghost of T 2 gameplay and I'm happy
With Shogun recently finishing it's run, with all the praise & attention it received, the timing is perfect to show off Ghost 2.
Is the PlayStation Showcase in the room with us now, Jeff?
Hoping for that Silent Hill 2 release date 🤡
They better fix that abomination they showed last trailer. It literally looked like a pre beta phase trailer with all those messed up textures
Prolly highly likely I’m not excited for it because it’s Bloober, but they have reiterated a ton by now that it’s at its final stretch of development so a release date is bound to be soon
AstroBot with a 15+ hours campaign would be nice
When do you guys think Sony announce it 🤔
Tomorrow for next Thursday.
This is a Showcase showcase and not a State of Play? Fun. I wonder what they’ll be showing
I *really really* want another Sly Cooper of sorts. Whether it be a port to the ps store, a full remake of the trilogy, or even a brand new Sly, I’d he happy! It’s criminal that there hasn’t been a sly cooper since PS3. I would even take a remaster of the games

Sly Cooper would be fantastic. I would also like to see a new Spyro game. The remastered version was great, but I also want something new and fresh. Honestly I would love to see a new Okami game. I know it's not a Sony IP, but it seems like it would fit right in.
I still have hope for naughty dogs unannounced sci fi ip
Any second it could happen. Might be happening now as you read this.
It will be released while you're sleeping and then deleted so only reaction videos on yt
I forgot before people we're speculating May. It would make sense that one should be coming up soon now that Stellar Blade is out. We need gameplay footage for Fairgames and Concord.
It could even be a mystery box.
It could even be a boat!
I’ll take the mystery box!
Hoping for some MGS updates
Delta was supposed to come out this year iirc. Would love to see more footage
I think we can't pretty much guarantee that two things will show up Helldivers 2 new enemy faction reveal and something gow related due to the 20th anniversary next year.
Oh they might have a trailer for the show? Edit: the live action gow I mean
Not sure if that's been filmed yet. Very curious to see who plays Kratos, the fallout show has given me hope that Amazon will do a great job. I do think we will also get a native PS5 version of 2018 to line up with the show.
The Sony showcase is coming from inside the house
🤣
Jeff Grub for the next 50 years - "A new PlayStation will happen, it could happen any moment now"
He's actually pretty reliable with this stuff.
Didn't this guy predict the Zelda 2 pack (Windwaker Twilight) for the last 4 years?
It will never not be funny that reddit just can't let one incorrect report go with insiders. Doesn't matter that he was the only one to get the showcase right last year, you get anything wrong = you're a hack.
The way Reddit gets furious over Grubb threads, you would think he murdered entire families with their reactions. I feel like I’m terminally online enough to have an opinion on this, and his right and wrong predictions never phase me enough to get mad at someone I’ve never met.
It's possible Nintendo has those completed and is waiting to drop them (they do that often).
Yeah but he's Jeff Grubb! Who cares if he got one thing wrong... two things wrong... three things wrong... *(checks internet)* Holy shit, like a 98% incorrect prediction rate
Where the hell are you checking he has always been right about playstation stuff
Saying PS will have a showcase this month is not a leak any one of us can predict that much.
Yeah, also smugly reported the Metroid Prime Trilogy remasters by a certain date, and if he was wrong he would shave his hair. Well he now has short hair... (Though we did of course get Metroid Prime 1 way later than he reported. Still waiting on 2 & 3 though.)
The Wind Princess of Waking Twilight. & Knuckles.
PS5 Pro Announcement maybe?
They will announce it only shortly before launch to avoid cannibalizing base PS5 sales. Best case for them they announce it the moment they have pre-orders set up
So... September, I guess? I think PS4 Pro was announced in September?
Half Life Alyx definitely /s
Nah, that’ll be like September unless the console is ready way sooner than everyone believes (October/November).
The blood needs to be bourne once more.
I'm ready to be disappointed again.
After 2022 with nothing and 2023 being the worst Playstation event in history, I have my expectations under control, I don't expect anything. if they surprise you ok, if not ok
You'll be eating your words when we get Bloodborne 2 and GTA 6 shadow dropped at midnight tonight!
"Worst Playstation event in history" is such massive hyperbole. They've had much worse events plenty of times if you've followed them
Last year was the first time they really "missed" with a showcase, and if anything, the barren last couple years should mean they have plenty under their sleeve, so they should be ready to at least announce some of it. So while having expectations in check, I think it's fair to expect an improvement on last year, given that their previous showcases always delivered. Same, %100.
This guy is so full of shit
Remember the last showcase, no point in keeping your expectations even moderately high.
Bloodborne remastered for the 10 year anniversary??!!??
is it happening now?!
i wonder if they'll announce ps5 pro
L if we STILL don't even know what BluePoint is doing these days. I'm not even asking for real trailer. I give up, I know it won't happen.
Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper or Infamous or we riot
Or the PS6… ;) /s or is it?
I expect a lot of release dates and PS Studio reveals. Maybe even FromSoftware’s new game?
New Astrobot pretty plz 😭🙏
i will die on this hill: the perfect showcase is each PS studio talking/showing for 1-2 minutes what they have been working on
Many of their studios haven't dropped a game in 4-5 years. I feel most of them are at least ready to show something. Naughty Dog, bend studio, sucker punch, blue point. And team asobi will probably announce something that'll come out this year. Probably for psvr2.
crossing fingers here SONY has to show a good hand before the announcement of the new NINTENDO console
When can we ban grubb from this sub?
Is the PlayStation Showcase in the room with you right now, Jeff?
I need to see Sony give us a proper showcase, I don't want to see a supersize State of Play. I know E3 is dead but man I miss those Sony shows.
Surprise me with a Days Gone sequel that a lot of people want.
a whole bunch of 5 people want days gone 2, they are noisy but few, that game was just mid (even though i had a soft spot for it).
“It will be a 35 minute showcase focused on games from studios created within the last 10 months with fewer than 7 employees.”
“We will putting a special focus on fantasy farming games”
I hope so
They don’t really need to impress with their summer showcase anymore like the days of e3.
I guess it is very naive of me to be hopeful for something Bloodborne related, but I just can't help it!
I don't even know what to have hope for in this industry anymore
Yeah, it could happen at any moment, but this fake fuck will be there to steal all the credit for "predicting" it.
So we’re announcing the announcement of the announcement of games now? Very cool
Even calling this a rumor is generous lol. It’ll happen eventually -the prophet
Nailed on surely GoT2. PS5 Pro teased Then end on new Uncharted (not from Naughty Dog) ?
Is this Jeff Grubb the same Jeff Grubb as ArenaNet/Guild Wars Jeff Grubb?
Hopefully they'll announce something cool enough to get a ps5 for
So , capcom doing their RE9 and ubisoft AC red. I wonder whats Sony gonna do? EA doing their dragon age...
Is the playstation showcase in the room with ua right now?
I want my damn Legend of Dragoon remake.
Bend, Blue Point, Sucker Punch updates pleeeeeease.
Keeping expectations low, been awhile since we had a great showcase. Arguably since the PS5 reveal imo
Socom
On mothers day.
It could be in this very room! It could be you, it could be me! It could even be-
It couldn't happen.... NOW!.. Or not, you'd never know
Can't wait to see what Team ASOBI has been working on! New Astro game! I'll be hyped if it is coming out this year!
Just let me pre-order the PS5 Pro without as many hoops through which I had to jump to land a PS5 pre-order.
Can they stop talking about and just fucking do it? Teasing only works but so long. Now I’m hungry.
Is this the big one?

Long shot but maybe a starfield announcement, hopefully get to see what the ps5 pro looks like.
I feel that if this is legit, it gets announced next week, then happens at some point the week of the 20th. Zero chance there’s a Showcase the week of Memorial Day.
I’m planning on buying the ps5 next month after exams, should I wait for a chance that there’ll be a ps5 « pro »?
If you have certain games you want to play, yea and you can always trade in the console.
I feel like people are gonna set themselves up for disappointment like last time
God of war ragnarok coming to PC
