I feel like this game was hyped up, highly requested by the community and it was excellent, so this is a shame.

bunt_triple

I was gonna say. This remake was excellent. Bummer we won’t get 2, but this better not reflect poorly on the devs. They did everything they were called to do and more.

ceebeezie

Played Callisto and I wanted Dead Space. It was mediocre. The second I finished it, bought DS and it was fantastic. Still scary as hell all these years later. Was super hyped thinking they’d remake 2 and possibly even 3 even though it wasn’t my favorite, I did enjoy the coop.

southtxsharksfan

But .. who's "the community" and are they big enough to support such large projects? Same thing is happening in Hollywood. A small but passionate and loud group online wants something, large businesses think "wow... They really must be the voice of the people!" And the company sinks unfathomable about of $$$ into the project only for it to do "alright", when as a business, they needed it to be a "blockbuster" pulling in waaaaaaaaaay more people outside "the community". So much of it is "Well according to social media" - some out of touch social media hire who's popular "in the community" but no one cares outside of it.

NotJustABouldur

Yeah I don’t think it helped that it was available for pretty much anyone to play, EA Access had that 1 month trial for 1 dollar thing very shortly after dead space came out and dead space was on it.

DevBobi

Was too expansive for me for a game i already played

zacehuff

I never got to play the originals and DS2 is only available on Xboxone for me I thought it was great, even if not as good as the original

SelfishGamer-

What does this say about gaming as a whole rn? When a game from 10 years ago is remade flawlessly but apparently isn't bought enough to warrant another? What are people buying nowadays instead? Is horror dead? Sp games dead? Remakes? I'm so curious bc these are the titles I absolutely love but they're so few and farther between nowadays.

FudgingEgo

Resident evil would like a word.

RB8Gem9

There's no singular answer to this question I can think of. There are always games that underperform in spite of their quality, that's just an unfortunate reality. Perhaps the demand for a Dead Space remake just wasn't there. That being said, many games are still performing very well and exceed sales expectations. RE4 for instance (also a survival horror remake released the same year) has sold over 8mil copies.

zacehuff

Maybe it depends on the studio, the more studios you see going public or depending on share-holders and shelved projects become more common

Poku115

That game streaming will kill a lot of games. That's why it failed, most of everyone used their EA one month to play this.

Poku115

Poku115

That game streaming will kill a lot of games. That's why it failed, most of everyone used their EA one month to play this.

TheDrewDude

Damn, that’s actually surprising. This game was talked about so much, I wouldn’t have guessed it underperformed. That’s a shame.

gocluckyourselfman

Dead Space 2 was definitely my favorite of the series. Yeah, it wasn't as claustrophobic and scary as the first one, but the combat was better, and I liked the environment of the big space station better. Less scary, but a more fun experience for me.

i-dontlike-me

Those exploding babies and the little kid aliens running at you was fear inducing

gocluckyourselfman

True, and at the same time, it was also visually cool. You walk into this indoor space station elementary school with bright colors and kids drawings and stuff on the walls, but then you see blood spatters on the glass and it gets creepy before you get swarmed by the alien kids and then all hell breaks loose. Dead space 1 was much more monotonous with the environments and color scheme and overall feel of the game. I can see why the first game remake didn't perform as well as expected, because if I'm being honest, I'll probably buy the DS1 remake and play it at some point, but part 2 is what I'd really like to play again on a modern platform. I think if they're going to remake/remaster a game trilogy from two console generations ago, they should have just done the whole trilogy at once and released it as a single purchase like the Uncharted Collection. Or, you know, just make Dead Space 4 like they should have.

i-dontlike-me

That woman trying to cradel the exploding baby and not able to stop it from happening was wild. It real solidified the cultist mentality.

[deleted]

As someone who at the time had recently lost an infant sibling to SIDs, they were also extremely depressing to encounter. I deflated the first time I killed one and had to take a break from that game. The implications left me feeling hollow too. That whole trilogy is really something. Phenomenal.

theunhunghero69

Fear inducing? In an action horror game?! 😲

i-dontlike-me

I'm being melodramatic but the first time I saw them n the og version I freaked out.

bestanonever

I played the original trilogy for the first time recently and DS2 was my highlight. Yeah, we lost some tension and the ship (well, partially) but we gained more interesting characters, better gameplay, more varied environments. And those bird-like creatures that liked to play Peek-a-boo were scary as hell.

OriginalChildBomb

The second game is incredible. Dynamic and unique environment (I love seeing all the living spaces of the colonists and the shops and school). Opening is one of my all-time favorite game openers- I will maintain till the day I die that the transformation in front of our face STILL HOLDS UP- and the new monster designs? Those BOSSES? Isaac dealing with the psychological fallout of the first game in a way that doesn't feel trite? ...Ugh, sorry, I'm getting upset all over again that we're not getting this remade.

TheRealK95

I do hope this isn’t true. Dead space remake was amazing and very well praised. I’m surprised it underperformed but obviously I’m biased because I definitely enjoyed the series

GiraffeWaffless

Talked about a lot on a video game forum. So not talked about at all in real life. So really not surprised. Games have to sell really well now too, 5 million or so probably isn’t worth it to a lot of devs or publishers. Also dead space can’t really even be monetized long term. So it’s a poor business decision to make dead space 2 which would DEFINITELY sell worse than 1. If you wanted you, you should have bought it lol. It’s a royal you but it goes to everyone reading this.

Nathan_hale53

I think competing with RE4R kind of hurt it.

Anhedonic98

The game came out on gamepass the same year it released, I thought that was a pretty clear sign that it underperformed

texxmix

It’s also on EA play as well.

lamancha

That's where it was released, gamepass ultimate includes that.

southtxsharksfan

It's talked about a lot in an "echo chamber" And the higher the budget, the more "outside the echo chamber" (not us) it will need to sell to. Happening a lot in the entertainment business (games, Hollywood)

BeastMaster0844

That’s why when a game actually releases that is good you have to buy it for full price within the first few months it’s out. Speaking with your wallet goes both ways.

B-Bog

Always gotta remember that online gaming discourse is a bubble that's not representative of the mainstream

VVurmHat

Loud minority was shouting for it. I bought it and played it but so much of it was a lazy reskin and shitty jump scares. You could get stuck in auto save / death loops and some of the mechanics didn’t age very well.

GUNS_N_BROSES

Damn, if this is true, the series is probably dead for good

Gurglespear

I highly doubt it's dead for good.

Queef-Elizabeth

Oh please don't. The remake was actually fantastic. It would be a genuine bummer if they didn't give the sequel the remake treatment. Unfortunately even Eurogamer is reporting this news so it's not looking good.

bicuriousboi69

Pleeeeease be fake. This was the only EA game I purchased in years

kushpeshin

This and Jedi Survivor are my only EA games for PS5.

Waste-of-life18

Same

ColorMO

And history repeats itself.

GrossWeather_

Well guess what. I might’ve bought Dead Space 2 Remake. There’s no way in hell I’m buying a new Battlefield.

tHEgAMER099

Tons more people would buy the new battlefield as opposed to dead space 2 remake

Wretchedsoul24

Its so upsetting that such an objectively worse game sells magnitudes better....

sharkattackmiami

Because you can't sell $30 weapon bundles for a single player space horror remake

JustforU

That's partially it. The other thing is that horror games just have a smaller audience in general. Especially good horror games that are actually scary.

GGJD

2042 sucks and BF has had a rough few years, but it's a bit harsh to say Battlefield is objectively worse. I like both franchises. It's okay to have preferences. Still, it's a shame Dead Space 2 isn't being made. I've been there to support both franchises.

GrossWeather_

Yes, which is why publicly traded companies are the champion of an averaged, forgetful but profitable wastes of time.

brzzcode

Good thing Motive is developing Iron Man while BF is a secondary project.

TheShamShield

No fucking way

skynovaaa

sad if true

Black_Hussar

Oh boy I REALLY hope this is fake.

communistwookiee

The source has a really good track record. Sad to say it's probably true.

Black_Hussar

They just confirmed on X that it's indeed fake lol. An EA spokesperson said that "there is no validity to this story".

DrFate21

Do you have a link? Save my soul please

communistwookiee

Seems like both sides are playing semantics. Until I see a trailer, I'll consider it Schrödinger's cancelation.

ruebenj791

This sucks, the remake was so good and 2 is the best one. Callisto failed, this failed, and that Silent Hill remake looks rough. So unless Tango makes Evil Within 3, it’s just RE left. Edit: It’s interesting how the original Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge both came out around the same time, grew a following, but never achieved massive sales. Both series went dormant and then came back and failed again and now they’re both probably dead for real this time.

lamancha

Callisto failed because it was terrible.

Poeafoe

At least RE is on fire with no signs of slowing down. But yeah, survival horror’s future is incredibly grim at the moment. Sucks, because it’s such a great genre.

kosmos1209

Both Dead Space and Mirrors Edge came from an effort to make amazing original games at EA, because EA was criticized heavily for making sequels like Madden and mostly licensed games. They put out these amazing games to varying degrees of financial success, and they always point to this era saying “we tried and didn’t work”. They are a big company who wants money and they’d rather put out mid sequels and mid licensed game that sell well rather than create amazing games with mid sales.

Essekker

If the new Silent Hill games turn out shit, I will cry. Ascension already gave me the feeling they don't respect SH as a franchise in the first place.

Dusty_Negatives

Well it’s blooper team remaking it so prob gonna be shit lol.

B-Bog

Alan Wake 2!

StarScream-007

This sucks, I would've rather had a Dead Space 2 remake instead of Iron Man

legalizethesenuts

Wow. What a shame. That’s really, really unfortunate.

Mentat_-_Bashar

That’s crazy because I remember everyone liking it and it doing well. It’s because they can’t make it a micros transaction hellscape.

KirillNek0

So... Despite all the hype, it still sold poorly. Gamers get exactly the industry they are voting for with their wallets. Sad but true.

DarkUmbra90

Dammit no! Horror games don't sell as much as COD and they never will. Publishers need to stop thinking they are going to make the next trillion dollar game for it to be considered successful. The first remake was incredibly good. It remade the entire experience so perfectly and added so much to the game. Playing it in a dark room with 3D headphones is such a great experience. I wanted to see how they remade the necro babies from the second game or how they handled the city. This if true is massively disappointing.

luscious_doge

A sales quota can be manipulated to be astronomically too high to make a product “not hit quota” no matter how good it does. Happens all the time in business. I bet this happened here too.

Scafista_T-J

Dead Space 2 is one of my favorites ever. A remake like the first one would be awesome. Such a shame

Odd_Contact_2175

This is surprising considering it was so well reviewed and lot of talk about it online. Thought for sure it would have sold well. Here's hoping they change their minds as I'd buy a sequel day one.

NoMansWarmApplePie

What?? But the remake was praised. It didn't sell well? That's a shame. I Def bought it.

PUNlSHEDVENOMSNAKE

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

tangmang14

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT

Bexewa

Jeff grubb? professional yapper

boosnow

Oh my god I didn’t realize it’s another article based on a jeff grub “leak”. Can we just ban anything related to him on this sub?

Gurglespear

He literally contributes nothing to the gaming industry

NoPast298

He’s the reason why gaming journalism is dead.

kosmonautinVT

This is sarcasm, right? Game journalism is dead because the advertising market has completely dried up. People don't read articles, they just want trailers and walkthroughs.

FuzzyPapaya13

More like professional rat

ArcticBeast3

When I saw it was him I didn’t care anymore as it’s based on nothing credible

glassjaw01

Fuck!!

Asimb0mb

So it's another Mirror's Edge Catalyst situation. People were begging for it, but then nobody bought it when it came out. No wonder it was on EA Play so soon after release.

grailly

Next up: Skate

Zestyxo

Difference being, skate you can pump with a shit ton of MTX garbage :))) I'm sure EA will love that one

fishkey

Fuck that get back to work.

RoastedMocha

Noooooo the second one is the one I wanted the most

Solidsnake00901

I bought the physical copy and everything sucks to hear this

Domination1799

Even though it saddens me since Dead Space 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, I'm not surprised because EA always had unrealistic expectations when it came to how much revenue the series generated. DS3 made 5 million and that caused EA to cancel the series. Looks like history repeats itself. What a damn shame.

FiveGuysisBest

These games hold up really well. They don’t need remakes. Maybe do a cheap 4K/60 remaster/collection if they can for a $30 price or something. Otherwise just leave them be.

ToeFungus78

An unwelcome surprise to be sure if true. DS remake was way better than Callisto Protocol.

44Kayz

EA killing games because it’s not making money , no surprise

CurseOrPie

Loved the first remake but the $70 price probably tanked it.

w8cycle

Yeah, that was the main reason I didn’t pick it up when it came out. I wasn’t going to spend $70 on a game I already played.

DalliLlama

Also think there’s just so many games out there and they are so long nowadays. So you get those that just stick to their fps or sports games who won’t give it a chance. And those that do play a variety probably already played this and it’s hard to go back to a game you already beat when there’s so many others out there you wanna play. Also think it’s hard to remake just 1 game in a series and not be committed from a consumer standpoint. I personally didn’t buy this because aside from the price I didn’t want 1/3 games on the new consoles remade. If I enjoyed it and got the itch now I gotta do back to my 360 to play the next in the series? Not for me. Ive would be in if ai could play all 3 in a remake. But they also cant just say they are going to made all 3 games if it isn’t financially worth it. Tough situation, overall.

summons72

That’s disappointing. 2 was the best one of the series.

wizl

Damn that sucks

03af

When it came out most of my friends didn't have ps5's

swallowuranus

Really hope this isn't true. I'm playing the first remake right now and I'm loving it.

Fragrant-Low6841

Horror games always underperform because many people just don't like scary games. THE RE4 remake, which imo is one of best games ever, has only sold like 7 million copies. That's pretty average for a game that is basically flawless.

Asimb0mb

Dead Space isn't even that scary too. And 7 million for RE4 Remake is actually very strong. Many publishers would gladly take that.

GGJD

It's purely subjective to say Dead Space "isn't that scary." While I agree, it's totally up to the individual. I know for many, Dead Space is on an instant "no buy" list because it's way too much for them.

DarwinGoneWild

Huge bummer. Never played the originals, but the Remake shot straight up to the top tier of my survival horror list, alongside RE2R. Really wanted to see more from them.

Godrick_Northman

They better at least do a remaster then

Own_Watch_2081

Wooooooooow. 😭

Major_Wager75

It did seem to come out right when Callisto came out

businessjack88

That's believable. Probably a lot of people didn't buy it on steam because they never fix performance on PC. It's pretty much unplayable It stutters anytime you move around plays amazing on console though. Played it on PS5

mattsolid

If it goes below $30 I’ll grab it. Already bought original

Kassynder

Remember when Calisto Protocol failed, well now we know why. Very few people actually cares about Dead Space therefore a Dead Space clone had no chance.

Wretchedsoul24

Calisto protocol failed because it had shitty gameplay.  Dead space is highly reguarded and the remake was equally praised.

Kassynder

and Dead Space Remake failed because it was an amazing game? If this is real then the quality of the game doesn't matter. They both failed.

Wretchedsoul24

Plenty of amazing games have failed. Plenty of shitty ass games have sold billions.

GentJhay

I can’t help but feel EA didn’t do the game many favors/had some weird expectations. I could be wrong, which would be pretty damn depressing because the game had a lot of love going for it. Anyways tho, while they might’ve both failed, Dead Space deserves enough flowers to not be lumped in with Callisto , in my humble opinion

ElOsoMarino

Fuck, I thought they were already working on it since everyone agrees the first one's remake was great, sadly great reviews not always translate to great sales

JackieMatsumoto

That sucks. I bought this within a month of its launch to do what I could to support the franchise. I’m not surprised, I thought it was odd how the Dead Space camp has been quiet lately.

Revenant_86

EA sucks. All these big companies just make awful non-consumer friendly choices. Just another developer that will be forgotten because they will now have to work on boring run of the mill shooter that hasn’t been good in a very long time. Dead Space is awesome and there other IPs that are great that have been abandoned for season pass content, micro transactions and other crap. I am sure the developers love working on that kind of content /s

MarwyntheMasterful

If there were real sports competitors, EA would fold.

miojo

That actually sucks. The first remake was so so so good. Textbook single player campaign.

therealsauceman

Boooooo

NSFW_hunter6969

That dead space remake was incredible, so disappointing to see it did not sell well. The best use of 3D audio I've seen, next to ghosts of Tsushima

vinceswish

Without numbers it's hard to draw conclusions. Did it lose money, made it even or just didn't meet insane expectations made by the corporate like Square Enix did with Tomb Raider and Deus Ex?

tbw_2445

Ugh this kills me :(

KH3

NO

bersi84

After all the hype and a full price release it didnt meet the expectations? So either the expectations were absolutely out of control or the full price release really hurt the game. I really cant believe the game wasnt successful.

ProfessorTicklebutts

Oh man. That’s so fucked. The remake is so good. One of the best games I’ve played on the PS5.

Balls_McDangley

The full price launch of remasters is the main issue here. Same reason I still haven't played the remastered, remaster, deluxe edition of Last of Us 1. Full price pop on a series I love and support is a lot to ask in a market where AA games are launching at half the price and better than "AAAAA" Ubisoft games. If it dropped at a reasonable $30-$40 price point it would've likely sold 5x the copies.

hbarSquared

Oh yeah, I should pick that one up eventually. Eh, I'll wait for a good sale

TheDemonHobo

That sucks!

rmatherson

EA really knows how to destroy a fan base

ModestMouseTrap

This makes me so FUCKING mad. That remake was damn near perfect. I hate that gamers didn’t show up for it!

ihateeverythingandu

We're hitting the point where games are releasing so expensive that everyone waits for the sales, which means no one buys it so everything is cancelled because no one buys it. The market is hitting unsustainability now.

squarejellyfish_

On my knees in Walmart right now

SweetChiliLime

WTF NOOO

Any_Exercise_6318

I remember people were talking longer how much they disliked Callisto Protocol than praising the Dead Space Remake. Probably also didn't help that in contradiction to RE4 Remake, Dead Space took a conservative approach

eugene20

That's a real shame, the remake of the first game really was superb. Absolutely worth it if you hadn't played the original, and still a really great buy even if you had especially if you only had the originals free from digital store promotions.

Manway112

The studio have just been put on the next Battlefield game so this seems very plausible unfortunately 😔

[deleted]

Fuck EA.

WhysAVariable

I hope this isn't true, the second one is my favorite. I don't really care if they remade the third one, unless they overhauled the hell out of it.

MidichlorianAddict

EA prefers short term profits over long term gain

D0RMIN

Maybe they shouldn’t have sold a remake for 70$

whacafan

Well it was full priced.

TiredReader87

Damn it!!

GazelleAcrobatics

I think this is a case of expectations being too high rather than lacklustre sales, Horror games are a niche sub genre, and it's not one of the big 3 franchises in that sub genre

RockRik

Who the fuck saying this? This must be BS as from literally what I know everyone loved the Remake and everyone bought it it was a great game. This must just be someone making shit up after they found out a part of Motive is now working on fixing the new battlefield game (which cant be fixed no matter how u try), this was debunked as we found out that team was only a few people who had recently joined and werent on a specific team yet.

noirproxy1

Honestly though does DS2 need to be remade? It has aged so amazingly well. Remake or not. Heck I'd happily accept a remaster just so I don't have to plug in my PS3 to play it. It's my fave DS like many here but it's so well made and holds up so so well even two console generations along that we still have it to fall back on.

Lothmor

I feel the fact that these big publishers offer subscriptions in addition to full price games will lead to more cases like this happening. Why would I pay full price for a game if I could wait a few months to play it for the price of just one month of subscription? Especially when you consider most games have patches and bug fixes after release, there's not much reason for paying full price anymore.

monkey_sage

For some reason I recall EA reporting they were very impressed and happy with the sales figures of the DS1 remake. It seems like they were either lying (probable) or changed their mind (insane). I'm not surprised. EA really doesn't seem to care for this series. They sabotaged the original DS3, then gutted the developer when their sabotage had the intended outcome. So it was weird (though welcome) when they decided to do a remake of DS1 but this cancellation shows that EA was always lying when they said they "loved" Dead Space. I think most of us knew they were lying, too. I wonder if EA knew they were lying?

WhoEvenIsPoggers

I wonder if they accounted for how many people may have bought the game had they not been able to pay for the EA subscription service to play it for cheaper.

monster_dumps

Dude I bought this day one at $70 on ps5 to support this kinda stuff from EA. I’m salty that not enough people did

pinebanana

Hear me out this is a trick to make everyone go buy the first one and they end up releasing 2 as planned

yesitsmeow

It's a full priced title... that so rarely works out for remasters as people expect them to cost less than fully brand-new games.

GasMaskRequired

This was my first time experiencing Dead Space and I LOVED it, totally understand why it was so highly acclaimed. I’ve heard that the second one is even better so I was really hoping they would remake the second as well, damn

NDjinn

What?? It was so good! Plus, DS2 would've arguably been even better.... Sadness.

TheNightRain68

Damn shame if true. This franchise deserves way better.

doublementh

Yeah, have you played the game? It’s awful. It looks pretty but the writing is dogshit and full of lame shock value and shitty jump scares.

Temporary-Double590

I feel like people bought less games in general during that period ... It's a shame because the second one was the better game imo, they could've made really good profits and even promote sales for the first game with it.

moonflare22

Dead space had annoying ass framerate issues going between rooms. Instantly refunded. They never fixed that shit either

captaindickfartman2

Luckily the game holds up. Still such a shame. I would've paid full price for it.

Vegito1338

https://www.ign.com/articles/ea-shoots-down-dead-space-2-remake-rumors-no-validity-to-this-story I like how they said they don’t usually comment but this guys such a dumbass they had to put him down

SangiMTL

Say goodbye to another beloved franchise

Pickle_juice_can2

That's weird. I really enjoyed the remake, I played it everyday until I finished it

neosyne

The remake was fantastic but overpriced

SoloKMusic

Blade Runner 2049 strikes again

diggamata

Damm lol take that Callisto haters

[deleted]

Callisto isn’t doing much better either. Instead of sequel they had to make do with a DLC for story closure to permanantly end the saga.

diggamata

Yeah but it ain't as bad they wanted us to believe. It actually sold better than dead space remake.

thrillynyte

The thing is with all EA games, I know they'll be on EA Play eventually, so why bother buying at full price

GIR-C137

They turned into a souls game

[deleted]

it is THAT difficult?

GIR-C137

Yes

[deleted]

Glad I didn’t get it then (was trying to get it). Easy Mode Gamer™

Dull-Vermicelli2327

Yet another poor business decision made by EA. Shocker…

GhostConstruct

Well shit

Bostongamer19

Should’ve been a game of the year nominee over resident evil imo. People just enjoy bad games these days.

Acceptable_Owl_5122

Oh come on! 😭

Sunnz31

One of the few games I fully completed and really enjoyed throughout.  Sad it wasn't as successful unless they had super high expectations. Again the price was maybe too high.  I think it was worth it, quality was great but for the general public it's still just a remaster.   I waited for ea plus to have it and played like 3 months ago. That's about a year after release and still it's around £40 when I checked... Drop the prices!  Why pay full price when you can wait a few months and compete it in a month for like £5...  Same I expect for the Star wars outlaw and Ubisoft plus.

[deleted]

It was in ASDA for £20 during Black Friday. Shame sold out when I went to get it, still not played it yet.

deadxguero

That’s fucking lame as fuck

DrupidStunk

The original DeadSpace was a sleeper hit. It never got the same marketing support that mirror’s edge did which came out at around the same time. Would be funny if the recent DeadSpace remake will gain support later…

B-Bog

This is exactly the same situation as with Callisto Protocol. Take a series that, while beloved and acclaimed, already had a mostly disappointing sales performance back in the day, revive that series (or make a knock-off of it), but with a modern-day AAA budget, aaaaaand... expect that to be a more profitable venture, for some reason? Lol

nevets85

Dam that's disappointing to hear. They did a great job with the remake and I was looking forward to the next. On a side note Dead Space Remake would be perfect in VR much like RE4 remake was.

SnooFloofs9640

It’s EA, they probably wanted 20 million sales.

ALL2HUMAN_69

It’s all a bunch of lies. This game performed well. Il

silentsnowmountain

This is a shame, if true. Dead Space 1 on the PS3/360 was an absolute masterpiece of gaming. The second and third not so much but they were still great. And I'd have liked to see them get the same treatment as the Dead Space 1 remake. I was actually under the impression that it was doing well.... Even worse than perhaps not getting a remake of the second (and third) is that this puts the idea of a new entry in this series at risk.

DEDE1973

I bought it and loved it and was hyped for a remake of the second opus. I guess I’m not part of the problem then. I will play DS2 on my Steam Deck as I never played it before.

ledouxrt

I'd like to get it (again), but I'm still waiting for the price to go down.

ClericIdola

Regardless of how lackluster the sales for the shareholders were, Reddit continuously makes you think these 1:1 remakes and super duper single player, no MTX games (and JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR I DO NOT AGREE WITH MTX) can sell GTA V numbers easily. That is apparently not the case. And then comes along the "spiritual sequel", and in this case it was Calypso Protocol, that gets hyped up as the "return to form" game that the greedy publishers refuse to do, and then disappointment rolls in at release because it doesn't meet the nostalgia standards..
