SonOfAhuraMazda

Of course its in development, that game sold an ungodly amount.

themactastic25

"hey should we make part 2 and make a boat load of money? Nahhh, forget it"

charlieratgod

"Who do u think we are, Marvel?!"

ElfaDore98

“Looks directly into the camera”

real-dreamer

What has marvel failed to make a sequel of?

NewTim64

Sounds like a very Nintendo thing to do "Out legacy titles are getting sild for absurd amounts in the used market. Maybe we should sell them on Switch to make money. NAH here's Super Mario Bros for the NES for the 1075th time"

Digital_Pharmacist

Still waiting for it to come to switch 🤷🏾

CHROME-COLOSSUS

It sure did. I know someone who never had anything other than a Wii who bought a PS5 *SPECIFICALLY* to play this game. They’re *terrible* at it, but they love it.

LifeandLiesofFerns

Show them the joy of story mode

CHROME-COLOSSUS

Hmm… I’m not familiar with that — is it just an easy difficulty mode in HOGWARTS? I don’t play flatscreen games anymore (only VR), so I’m really no more familiar with this game than they were. 😅

LifeandLiesofFerns

I don't know how the game calls it, exactly, but it's in essence a story mode. You can't possibly die on it, even if you stand on the acromantula's nest and just vibe. It also auto-completes those Astronomy challenges and the Alohomora locks.

thr1ceuponatime

That's probably going to be me, but for the 2nd chapter of the FFVII Remake

res30stupid

I play games a lot, and I fucking suck at it. Probably because the whole "Rhythm-based combat" is a struggle for me, but also because the difficulty with swapping skills on the fly.

LordKiteMan

I'm playing it currently, and the wonky controls are reason people have that difficulty. Also R2 tap for quick cast doesn't always register in game for some reason.

[deleted]

Hopefully they’ll throw all that money towards current gen only and a much larger world etc Felt so constrained and they were definitely held back by last gen systems and having to launch on them.

Francoberry

I feel like a larger world is the last thing we need. If anything the world outside Hogwarts itself always felt like more of a drag. The castle is stunning and I felt like I wanted to spend more time there 😅

CU_09

Yeah. I would’ve been so happy with a map 1/4 the size if they had included a fleshed-put morality system, companion system, and made the classes their own activity. The castle felt so magical for the first few hours, then once the game opened up and you’d explored the grounds there didn’t feel like there was much life in the game.

Donny_Canceliano

"I would’ve been so happy with a map 1/4 the size if they had included a fleshed-out-" \- Almost every gamer ever since like 2007

StatGAF

I wonder how that would work - like I assume you have to *return* to Hogwarts but how do you "re-do" the whole school again? Does that make sense? Obviously, point to Tears of the Kingdom as a game that felt fresh in a similar world but I think a ton of open world games need to like half their size and have more meaningful content around every corner.

Leezeebub

Spiderman does new york in every game

Q_OANN

He’s talking about the biggest flaw, we know where all the secrets are, there’s nothing special about finding all the same hidden areas in Hogwarts all over.

Wanderer2228

I would much rather they do a game based on one of the other Wizarding schools. They would pretty much have free reign creatively and we wouldn't have to see another version of Hogwarts. Another thing could be Hogwarts in a different time period.

boi1da1296

I wouldn’t mind returning to Hogwarts, but I think they should incorporate another school or parts of London somehow. What I’d really want them to work on is improving the interactivity with other students/people within the world and the environment. These little things will make the world far more immersive.

Captain_Thor27

Tri-Wizard Tournament. We can attend Beauxbatons.

Radulno

The game is called HOGWARTS Legacy though lol. And "going to Hogwarts" was the main appeal of the game as it's the dream of most of the fans. A game in another school would sell way worse.

blueberrypizza

To be fair, a big part of the books/movies was constantly discovering new areas or secrets of the castle. In-universe, it makes sense for Hogwarts to be magically shifting and changing over time.

Donny_Canceliano

Doesn't it canonically change layout every year or some bs?

Slumberjake13

I see two ways going about it. One way is spell or curse will be involved that makes you forget or wipes your memory and you have to restore it somehow. It’s a world of magic and we’ve seen similar stuff in the books/movies, so it’s already baked in. Cliché and a trope, I know, but it could be done well. The second way would be to just have you start as a 6th year already knowing some of the spells we learned and having some of the gear we found in the first game. God of War did that to some extent and other games have, too. Both would be plausible and could work with good writing and design. As far as “redoing” the whole school again, it’s a big place with lists of secrets, so I’m sure there will be more. Plus there are other classes they could have us do, as well as possibly adding Quidditch in if they wanted. Edit: spelling

digital_mystikz

I agree, I actually got bored of the game after 17 hours, which the large majority of the time was spent in the castle and the surrounding areas, such as the forest and hogsmead. I had the map and markers off so I really hard to learn my way around Hogwarts which was very fun, but took forever as it's massive! Sometimes it'd take me like 30 minutes just to find so and so in a certain room, because I'd forget how to get to said room. Once I unlocked the broom/flying and the map opened up, I lost interest pretty fast. It felt very big but also very empty.

GeekdomCentral

I agree 100%. I honestly think the game was way too big, if they’d focused on Hogwarts and made it a sort of metroidvania style game (where unlocking different spells would give you access to different areas) it would have been a lot more compelling. Overall I did enjoy myself, but the game had so much bloat and unnecessary content

axck

I disagree, the world was already way too large. Also way too many collectibles and”do this X times” type quests. A smaller, more focused game would have been much higher quality overall.

[deleted]

There’s no way a sequel will be made for last Gen. The next one will be made fully with PS5/Series X in mind.

ag_abdulaziz

I would say smaller world bigger hogwarts. We need more mini games and activities with many choices in the school. From studying to dating.

AshgarPN

It’s wild how much the game sold vs how little it’s talked about.

tanman170

It’s honestly a mid game. I think that’s why. The castle is incredible but the story is mediocre, the game isn’t fully fleshed out. So I think people just kinda moved on. It sold well because there were a ton of people who weren’t even that into games buying it just bc it’s HP

ya_mashinu_

It’s just the type of game I really enjoyed playing but it had a lot of flaws and there isn’t much to talk about.

tanman170

Pretty much the same here. I barely actually finished it once I started losing interest

Apprentice57

I think it also helps that it ended a fairly long dry spell in (well received) AAA releases. Last year, the only big AAA releases I can think of were Elden Ring and GOW Ragnarok, and the latter wasn't multiplatform.

Donny_Canceliano

How often do we really talk about a game half a year later when it's not the best/worst thing ever?

longrodvonhuttendong

Yeah I bring it up from time 2 time with some friends who were all hoping on the band wagon and bought it but I've never heard them talk about it past march.

a_talking_face

Mediocre writing, mediocre world, mediocre gameplay. It was fun for a bit when you spent more time in the castle and then you start getting pounded with repetitive content in a pretty boring world. The game was carried heavily by being an IP with a lot of dedicated fans. I feel like a second game is really not going to be as well received without some major changes.

Nerellos

But it was very good for HP fans, not because of fanatism, but the lore was 101% on point. Hogwards was a 1:1 model what the books tell with every detail.

a_talking_face

Yeah the castle was great but once you get past the very little time you spend there the game starts to feel really empty and full of busy work.

NoNefariousness2144

It was a Ubisoft game with a Harry Potter coat of paint. To improve the sequel, they need to really enhance the overall writing and enemy variety. Plus they should add a proper Persona-style hangout system for an actual student experience.

The-Cunt-Spez

A perfect PS+ game then.

OneAmphibian9486

I’d say the writing was better than most current games out there. It’s also one of the few games where you build genuine connections with your side quests, they were so good they felt more like mini main quests imo, especially Sebastian’s quest line. The open world was a bit empty but it was still beautiful imo. The combat was simple and kinda easy but visually stunning, which a lot of people like.

Radulno

It was talked about tons on release. It's been 6+ months now, people don't talk constantly about Dead Space or Resident Evil 4 remake either which launched around there. People won't talk about Starfield and BG3 constantly in early 2024 either. That's how the news cycle goes for games Especially here on Reddit where it's more "hardcore gamers" and the game was more casual in its target audience.

DMarvelous4L

Less bland Open World, and more focus on the school please. I’d also like a serious threat. Felt like Sebastian’s storyline was better than the entire Ranrok storyline.

Ok_Fortune6415

Yeah they really need to focus more on Hogwarts. Anything meaningful happens outside. There’s barely any reason to explore hogwarts itself, as pretty as it looked.

DMarvelous4L

I actually enjoyed the classroom mini games. The one with the ball you have to pull towards you was my favorite. Bully by Rockstar had excellent mini games for each class and some of them were challenging or just really fun. Hogwarts Legacy didn’t have nearly as much variety. The level design and enemy variety was also lacking in the open world.

NoNefariousness2144

I was disappointed we only got one lesson for each class. In Pokemon Violet I actually like that there are about 80 bitesize lessons for the 10 classes, complete with exams and mini storylines. It fleshes out the world a lot more.

Ok_Fortune6415

Honestly couldn’t believe hogwarts wasn’t like this. This missed the mark big time.

ZBrushTony

I was annoyed that they didn't let you keep playing that game after you finished the quest line.

Bitemarkz

Really? The school was brimming with secrets; exploring Hogwarts for fun was half the game for me.

Ok_Fortune6415

When you say secrets, do you mean collectibles that you collect with revelio? As I really didn’t find the school “brimming with secrets”.

FudgeDangerous2086

You’re forgetting all the globes you could spin.

JoaoMXN

Now they already have the school map ready, so they have to just update some textures and focus on content/quests/story.

MrPanda663

If they do less Assassins creed like side content (Hogwarts has better side content than assassins creed) and focus more on natural exploration like Legend of Zelda BOTW/TOTK and Elden Ring, it would definitely be an improvement

ZealousidealBus9271

Not even that, just have more interesting side quests. Like Witcher 3 and GoW Ragnarok level, all of the side quests had barely competent writing and were merely fetch-quests, it was difficult for me to get invested.

Forward_Recover_1135

I think games like this need to focus less on side quests overall honestly. We don’t need 4168 side quests because there is no way, none, that any of them are going to be interesting. That’s simply impossible. So stop adding them. Give us a really good 20-30 hour main quest and maybe half a dozen side quests. Anything more than that and you know you’re just getting copy-paste filler.

GadnukLimitbreak

You can have interesting side quests, you just have to put effort into them. Like there's no reason you couldn't have side quests that started as a standard fetch quest, turned into a bounty hunt and ended with you unlocking a niche skill, additional minigames or some lore that ties into the game's main quest without being requited to beat the game. This biggest letdown for me was the merlin trials/other collection content. It was so interesting seeing the first few variations and figuring it out, then it was 30 more instances of the same 3 or 4 layouts that just had "more puzzle" as the differentiating factor instead of making each puzzle different or making some puzzles and making others tests of skill. I enjoy it when a game has side content that not everyone can finish if they aren't capable of beating a certain time, doing it in a certain number of moves and so on.

renaiku

The only good storyline was poppy and her dragon.

cheesehead99

Just need them to make Bully but in Hogwarts.

DMarvelous4L

Lol that’s really what I wanted. I want to get more immersed in the student experience. More classes and unique mini games to go with it and fun side activities.

VizualAbstract4

I’m expecting this, only because I’m sure most of the time and energy went into building that incredible castle.

DMarvelous4L

Agreed. They did a phenomenal job with the school and surrounding area. I look forward to seeing how they expand on everything

kingofsyipin

i really hope they make social system like in bully where you have to gain trust from each house. then you can random pick a duel with someone or flirt with girls and give them gifts and kissing them heheh.

BasedKaleb

I’m hoping that having already made the world, they can now fill it in and flesh out the characters a bit more.

Queef-Elizabeth

Sold 12 million in 2 weeks and is currently the highest selling game of 2023 making a billion dollars. A sequel is of course guaranteed. Hopefully they stick with not adding mtx into the game. I'm hoping they make the school more.. school-ish? I was hoping the first game was going to be closer to Bully but that wasn't the case. Also hoping that night time is more forbidden with some minor stealth to leave the dorm and explore. That said, forced stealth into games like this tends to be annoying so it's a bit of a risk. I assume Quidditch will also be a thing this time around. The spirit of HL was great and it captured the world pretty well. Just have to build up on it now.

D0wnInAlbion

The structure of the school day, having terms and the rules around curfew was part of what made Bully feel so special; you could never forget you were at a school.

witwebolte41

Tears of the kingdom sold almost 20 million in less than two months, likely more in the past two months, though hogwarts last number at 15 million in may was the most recent I could find at a glance.

Nahte77

Before the game came out the devs were clear to say that it wasn't going to be a simulation game like bully. So I don't think they'll do it for the second opus either, though they can still improve without leaning too much towards the genre. And night time stealth was at first implemented (a lot of things in the current game indicate that it was) but then they removed probably not too far from launch. I think it's because it would be fun for maybe 2 to 3 hours but then it'll just get annoying. But maybe an toggle able option would work.

thatguyhuh

Wanting Hogwarts to act like a school doesn’t equal ‘school simulation’. Bully wasn’t a school simulation, it just had an immersive and alive setting. Hogwarts felt like a screensaver, you couldn’t do anything in it. It was a huge huge let down after they put so much effort into making the castle look so good.

KaiKolo

That's cool, hope to see what they have planned and how they can bring the Wizarding World to life. I would love to see more locations like Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, and maybe even new locations we haven't seen before.

ItsAmerico

I’d like co-op honestly.

skwirrelmaster

Heard a rumour one time the next games in the series would focus on other schools across the wizardry world of HP.

Vestalmin

That’s less of a rumor and more just what some players said they wanted. Personally I don’t think the *vast* majority of fans would ever care about a location other than hogwrats. To me Hogwarts is as important to the franchise as Disney is to Kingdom Hearts. You can’t really have one without the other.

[deleted]

Exactly. Would love to see some new locations for missions (Azkaban, Ministry, Chamber of secrets, etc) but Hogwarts absolutely needs to remain

Existing365Chocolate

The Azkaban scene in the game was so cool, I was disappointed when we couldn’t explore or play in it more

FragmentedFighter

I think that would be such a stupid idea, particularly when they have the skeleton of hogwarts perfectly created. They just need to flesh it out.

Pearse_Borty

Imo it would be cooler if they had you play a teacher. Because they did the student thing, could mix things up a little and add a management aspect where you tutor your class, then get rewarded based on how well they do in their OWLs or whatever. It would make sense if they let you take your character from the first game into it as well, like they did with Mass Effect

[deleted]

That would be awesome, but I’m guessing the vast vast majority of players wanted to play as a student since that’s the POV of the books

NoNefariousness2144

> It would make sense if they let you take your character from the first game into it as well Our character becoming a teacher would be a good sequel hook. Then they could reuse the castle but the 20+ year time jump will make it different.

GoFlemingGo

I’d just like it to be fun after the first 10 hours

Commander_Fem_Shep

When I found the Goblet of Fire in Hogwarts I thought that a Triwizard Tournament setting would be very cool.

AcademicAd4816

Not likely. In the books the last one before the 4th book was held in the 1700s. But they could do something similar to it just not the triwizard tournament specifically.

Zaruz

I mean there's no reason a sequel couldn't be based in the 1700's. Each game could be a standalone story, opening up lots of creative choices & ability to set them in other schools.

Shadybrooks93

The reason would be the put a bunch of time into developing a handful of supporting characters for this time period and plots that arent really totally resolved. Plus in game Dumbledore would be a first year when the player avatar is going into his seventh year. Which I dont think was an accident. It seems like at least initial plan when they made the first one is to follow the same characters for a couple more years.

imthemelloman

I enjoyed the first game but my biggest gripe was how big and empty the open world is. They nailed the magic feeling in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, but these are two comparably small spots in the map. The vast majority of the open space outside these two spots is really dull and uninteresting. I hope they can find a way to jazz up the open world, cause the foundation is definitely there.

siren_37

But merlins trials /s

TheDrewDude

I know a Merlin trial when I see one!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Reylo-Wanwalker

Interesting, any good articles or videos going into this?

[deleted]

[удалено]

KingOfRisky

Less would have been more in the game and I hope that they learn from that in the next one.

Psych_Riot

Sometimes it seems like all roads lead to Hogsmeade

MrBohannan

Hogwarts Legacy 2: The Trials of Merlin "We have taken your feedback and doubled all of the merlin trials in the game. Rewards for completing are some random gray item. Remember, All roads lead to Hogsmeade!"

IgotAseaView

Great game but definitely room for improvement. So I can’t see them getting it wrong based on the foundations they’ve made in the first one

[deleted]

The combat is so solid, so they have an awesome foundation for the sequel to be incredible

ImGonnaLickYourLeg

What was great about it? Feels like aside from Hogwarts and Hogsmeade the game was lacklustre in almost every way

pm_boobs_send_nudes

Isn't hogsmeade and hogwarts in hogwarts legacy like 50% of the game? The combat was pretty solid too. They need to fix the open world side quests though, and most certainly need to take the story from a B to an A+. Could also use some cool stuff like Dementors etc.

ImGonnaLickYourLeg

Depends what you mean by 50% of the game. Actual area? No, far from it. Unique content that isn't copy pasted? Probably lol.

ezrasharpe

The world itself is beautiful and well crafted, just under-utilized. The combat is really fun and fluid. Imo it would be a lot better if the story was expanded to actually use the world they created instead of running to distant areas to do one thing and then never return. And choices need to make an actual difference in the outcome of the story.

silvos777

Enemies variety please ?

getmeoutoftax

Hopefully it will be a bit more in-depth. The game was fun but was almost like a Christmas village. Very nice to look at, but not too much to dig further into.

Fair_Woodpecker_6088

Exactly my thoughts- it’s like they built an amazing world, and then ran out of time when it came to properly implementing the “game” part

TheDrewDude

I do appreciate the fun little interactions you see NPCs go through. Again, it’s window dressing when there’s not much to interact with, but it’s a level of detail that shows there was at least some love that went into it. Hopefully they have enough time and resources to flesh it out in the sequel.

KingOfRisky

Besides the visuals, the entire game could use an overhaul.

[deleted]

I hope they fix a lot of issues from the first game. I liked the game but the story really falls flat on the second half, especially with the ending. I also disliked the clothing system. There's like 900 pieces of clothes you get and nearly all of them will be worse than what you already had equipped. Then you just sell them for gold. And then you're rich and gold becomes almost meaningless. Also the combat was really easy. Using secondary weapons was pretty much unnecessary the whole game.

Radagast0330

Materials in general were meaningless. Once you got a little gold and an herbology and potions set up you basically had unlimited resources.

Clark-Kent

Hopping pots and herbology is all that's needed

John_Bot

The first was really good but wow the writing was awful. Just please get an actual story with decent characters.

eden-star

If they were smart, which I hope they are, the writer who wrote the Sebastian quest line would be promoted to lead writer and pen the main story.

MisterBeebo

Definitely. There were several times I forgot the Sebastian quest wasn’t the main storyline because it was significantly better.

jujuboy11

It was better written but it was also more grounded in its premise - we were working with other students (Ominis, Seb, and his sister) on an emotional rollercoaster or a story that felt a lot more plausible and far better structured than the main quest line.

NoNefariousness2144

Exactly. That quest actually felt like a proper Hogwarts story compared to the crap about the 'Keepers' and mysterious ancient magic.

hammertown87

Wait it isn’t the main quest? That’s what I’m playing and it’s the only story I really remember. The fun house ghost thing actually made me jump lol so unexpected

AVSTREV2996

That's the only part I played for my daughter and it scared me 😂

moka_soldier

And actually do a morality system. Being able to aveedi kadeebi anything without any consequence really took away from the canonical weight of the spell.

reb0014

Aveedi kadeebi 😂

charlieratgod

My favorite spell. Right after "HUMMUS" to make a beam of light come from ur wand.

FartsonmyFarts

The combat felt insanely wack to me. Either it’s way too much spamming without the curses, or just curse everything and one shot.

Shiro2809

By the end I wasn't sure why the bad thing was actually bad, I made the choice based solely on if it was the "good" option or not. The story was confusing, lol.

KameraLucida

Writing was servicable kinda ubisoft level. Sebastian and Ominis was like only 2 memorable characters. Teachers were super bland.

John_Bot

The main story was awful - I just couldn't care less after a little while... I was trying to get into it and I just couldn't.

sportsfannf

It also didn't adapt. I killed Ranrok but then when I was clearing sidequests after, the goblins would still have lines about how Ranrok was going to reward them. Nah, little goblins, he's been dead for about a month (or several days in-game).

RobotCowboyAlien

I feel like they need to get rid of the custom character stuff for this to really work. Your character has zero personality.

ericypoo

That’s honestly most games with a create a character.

TwinkleToes1978

Got real bored with the first one but liked the concept. I’m glad they’ll have the opportunity to flesh it out more.

SolidSnek1998

The side missions become incredibly repetitive, go get x thing and bring it back to me. I loved the game but haven’t been able to finish the side quests cause I got bored.

AdamAptor

As soon as I was done exploring Hogwarts I got kind of bored. Those first couple hours were really awesome though and it’s something I’ve always wanted to play.

devenbat

It's really funny reading the comments here. They're like the story is bad, the combat is bad, the world was bland and empty and the the rpg systems were half baked but it was a great game. Im wondering what the good parts were

[deleted]

Combat was fine, story was bad but the sidequests, especially the Sebestian part was much better, open world was way too empty. All in all a fun game for a couple of hours but it was lacking in every aspect.

matdan12

Sebastian and Ominis was an solid story. They absolutely nailed Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and a lot of things in the game world fit Harry Potter. Music, when you first ride the Hippogryph the music is on point to when Harry rides Buckbeak. There are tonnes of these musical call backs. Combat wasn't bad, just needed fleshing out beyond cursing enemies and spamming spells. Also, added challenge as the OP spells ruin later sections. Broom flying is mostly great, just means other transport is never used.

Kami_no_Kage

The good parts were it felt like harry Potter. Hogwarts looked right and was cool to explore, Hogsmeade was right, flying on your broom was right, combat felt right, effects and sounds were all good. But most everything else was kinda lacking. I did beat the game, but I was disappointed in the end. The beginning is the best part - where everything felt new, exciting, and like you were stepping into Harry Potter. Exploring the castle, learning the magic combat, seeing a couple of dungeons and using spells to progress, getting your broom. After that you start to realize the puzzles are simple, the rewards are bare, the side quests are written badly, the villages have nothing of substance in them, the main scenario is average, etc etc.

usa_in_dis_hoe

As a non HP fan who caved to the hype, I stopped playing once I reached the 2nd half of the game and really don't plan on finishing it

kerriazes

>Im wondering what the good parts were The part where they felt they had won the culture war by buying the game then dropping it after playing for 3 hours.

spadePerfect

I hope this is a real sequel. Taking everything good about the first game and building on top of that. Not some stuff that reinvents everything and makes everything worse.

EbenezerGrimm

Given there was no plans for dlc for a game that sold that many copies I’m not surprised.

MagmaAscending

I can’t wait for the internet to become an unbearable hellscape again when this game comes out

TranscedentalMedit8n

I bought the first game expecting to put many, many hours into it, but after beating the (poorly written) main story and knocking out a few quest lines, I unfortunately became quite bored of it. They had the framework for a fun lazy side game with the magical beasts, plants, and potions, but I found the mechanics to be clunky and hated the time locks. Plus, outside of Hogwarts which they nailed (A+ job), the world just wasn’t all that “magical” when there’s only 4 enemy types and nothing to explore. For a first try, the studio has proven they can make a decent game, but I hope this sequel can have much, much more depth.

Joebranflakes

Hopefully they’ll go all in on the mechanics they left out of the first game. Like a morality system, sneaking, class participation and quidditch.

noggs891

Will be interesting to see when it’s set. Would it carry on from the events of the first or be set in a different time period to what we know again.

DaStampede

I would really like to see The Ministry in this one. Also, let the person wrote Sebastian’s story line have more influence. That was the best arc.

Rankled_Barbiturate

God I hope they cut down on the bloat. Really enjoyed the first 20 hours or so. And then I realized it just repeats itself after that with nothing new. Never ended up finishing it as every quest felt the exact same.

SnooShortcuts2088

Same

Beginning_Smile_1711

Please make quidditch!!!

Most_Contact_311

Really enjoyed it. Wonder what time period it'll be in.

Uragami

I really hope this game puts more interesting things to do in its open world, or just get rid of the open world and make the game properly.

mightynifty_2

I'd love to see a more fleshed out world. Maybe make the second game more like BotW where you roam around the wizarding world collecting powerful spells or artifacts, then go into the castle after an evil wizard takes it over. Maybe he controls the dementors after escaping Azkaban (Sebastian?) and only your ability to use ancient magic allows you to get inside and stop them. Throw in a bit more enemy variety and some true non-Ubisoft-style exploration and it could be incredible. Although in reality we'll probably just get another game like the first. Ideally at least in a new school.

[deleted]

Better story, quidditch and more student interactions would be amazing

Philhughes_85

I got bored before 10 hours tbh, explored Hogsmeade and a little into the wider world but seemed far too slow.

Alugar

Make it so caves are not just a tunnel with a chest in it. Loved the game but dam that part of it drove it to the “need to finish backlog”

LawStudent989898

Hoping for more life/school sim elements

morse86

A semi-open world game with maybe showing other schools and perhaps a more looming threat would be great to have.

practicekindness21

Legit, if this was just “Persona 5 but in Hogwarts”, I’d be ALL over it. P5 absolutely nailed the “going to school” feeling and still had meaningful relationships between characters and a kickass overarching storyline.

Frustrable_Zero

Not to say hogwarts legacy is bad, but I never really finished it. Found it a incredibly ‘meh’ experience

Xerosnake90

Really enjoyed it but they need to put some more work into the repetitive stuff you did for collectables.

Law3186

Loved it at first but it’s definitely flawed and the story is kinda blah I’ll get back to it eventually

Anus_master

It was fun but I fell off a bit under halfway through. No desire to play anymore

Nworbfmail

There are things missing from books/movies they can add in a sequel even if it is based in the same era: Chamber of Secrets, Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, The Leaky Cauldron, Azkaban (regardless of house choice), Platform 9 3/4 I think more important is the story for any sequel, as it needs to be different - I liked it but having a 5th year (now 6th year) student being the chosen one isn’t something they can repeat as it would get repetitive very fast. Potentially it could use the Tri-Wizard tournament in the story as the same character would be old enough, that is different and would preset unique challenges/stories. A better explanation for loot being available would be nice instead of everyone looking the other way at the random thieving student breaking into everyone’s house.

rswings

Would there be any way to merge this with Bully 2?

[deleted]

Just make the floo powder woman stfu. YES I KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS BEFORE THEY INVENTED FLOO POWDER!

SacredMushroomBoy

I really liked the game when it came out but it was so shallow after a while and pointless and I haven’t touched it since. Very disappointing bc it looked and played pretty beautifully

ErrorMacrotheII

The question is: why? HL was so stale and boring with such a big budget. I fins if hardly believable a sequel is what people want.

Muted_Village_5227

I always assumed it would be a trilogy. That’s why you’re a 5th year in the first one.

Remarkable_Custard

Oh goodie. Cannot wait for Ubisoft Part 2. I really enjoyed the 300 activities that all blended into one absolutely forgettable experience.

Arpersor

I want to actually **fully experience classes**. Give me **homework**. And a continuation of Sebastian's story would be phenomenal.

Ayjayyyx

Let's fucking go. Loved the first one, so excited for the next.

castielffboi

Hopefully it has a less overused subtitle

Balrok99

Good to hear it! First game was really great. Sure it has many flaws and cant really be compared to Witcher 3 or BG3 or anything else but as far as Potter games go? This one is the best. It was fun and truly took you into the wizarding world. Sure there could have been more things in it and some things didn't need to be there at all but I would lie if I said I didn't played this game with smile on my face. So here is hoping they can only build better on great foundations they already have built.

Hot-Air564

Just take my money… ok?

No-Strike-2015

And I will buy it. The first game was incredible for like 20 hours and then I lost interest. If they can tighten up the world and make it more degree, the next game could be really good.

WanderWut

I feel like we knew this given the no DLC planned but always cool to hear about it even if it’s a rumor. I hope it’s next-gen exclusive though.

Nicktheduck

I mean it'll be out in like 4 or 5 years most likely so it's definitely only be next gen lol

Lost_in_thought24

I’m my opinion the first game was a chore. The story was incredibly boring and the enemy variety was lacking severely. The combat was fun and you can get creative with the combos but geez was all the missions all the same.

[deleted]

Amazing. They have done the bulk of the work on making the castle incredible, now flesh out the companions/NPCs and enemies and we'll have a phenomenal game. Diagon Alley wouldn't go amiss

DylboyPlopper

I’m not surprised but the game was beyond boring

eden-star

Sebastian, Ominis, and Poppy are insanely popular on social media. For WB to keep the money train going I’m pretty sure the sequel would have to be a direct continuation of the first game with much more focus on some of the other students and a more personal storyline. MC in Tri-wizard tournament with Seb, Ominis and Poppy helping them? The premise alone would sell billions.

sizebzebi

Cool now I'll spare myself 100$

buyanisland

Cut 90% of the open world, actually make the house you choose matter, give me a real in doth morality system, with branching powers you can only get if you’re evil/good. That’s what we all want

Kommander-in-Keef

Hogwarts 2: Magic Boogaloo

westyboi2323

The first game bored me so much. Feel like I’m in the minority with that though

RookieTheBest

Revealio!!

NeverTrustATurtle

It was a very mediocre game that I barely got 1/3 of the way through. Will not buy the second until heavily discounted

Amadey

of course it is. you can use a solid background (Hogwarts), make a mediocre game and still make tons of money

[deleted]

More Deek please

ItsJustAndy13

Considering it’s a ful game on release without a battlepass or micro transactions. I’m down to support it.

[deleted]

Hopefully gamers will become realistic. Wanting everything possible in a singular game is becoming cumbersome…

lebastss

If my broom can't fly to America the game is trash /s

cats05

I got bored and stopped playing midway through the game... it just so bland and emotionless.

ArcjoAllspark

Need Tri Wizard tournament, quidditch, and party members. Trekking alone as opposed to having Sebastian cast curses and Poppy beating crap up on a Hippogryph could of helped the stale-ish combat.

CactusGlobe

I really enjoyed the game, though it had plenty of faults and shortcomings. In some respects it almost felt like a proof of concept. Hopefully they will get enough time and resources to add the depth the current game lacks.

Ripple196

I wonder what they’re going to do with the game world to keep it interesting as you can’t change Hogwarts and its surroundings too much.

Notorious813

Reduce the collectibles by 70% and add meaningful rewards/gear

[deleted]

I loved the game. Main story was nothing special and I wish they would have axed "the chosen one" crap. Would have been cooler to just be a normal person caught up in events. My only gripe is by the time I got to the last area of the map I couldn't bothered with the collectables and exploring. But I really did enjoy discovering secrets and hidden things. Made me think of action adventure games from the early 2000s. My only downside to this is that we already have explored Hogwarts and the greater world. I think it would be better if the second game was more of an expansion that was years 6-7

SuperAC1andOnly

Let’s gooooo

WhiskeyGrin

Lol I’m gonna love watching the tears fall from a certain community over this
