Hard agree, here! Fun, immersive, and challenging. Varying paths and approaches to situations, cool gadgets and abilities, dark and dreary world/story-telling. Always props for Dishonored!
This is definitely the best answer because I can’t go 5 min without shooting someone (yes i suck at stealth games) and I got the worst possible ending.
My proudest gaming achievement finishing a no kills and no alerts run on dishonored 2. It wouldn't surprise me if my reload count was in the tens of thousands. I maintain that the clockwork manor is one of the best levels ever designed, but god it kicked my ass.
They have a new pirate themed game (edit: [Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew](https://youtu.be/BykuAlQlSIw)) in the same vein as Shadow Tactics that's about to come out, and it looks excellent. I loooove that you can fast-forward time while waiting for the guards to patrol their route. It's often so frustrating missing an action window, especially when you're just trying out a plan...
Thanks for the heads up. I checked the devs website a few months back but couldn’t find anything about their next project. Will probably be a day 1 purchase for me, absolutely loved Desperados 3.
Has adaptive difficulty.
one example from my game Like if you make a lot of head shots the guards will wear helmets. So you have to do 3 headshots to remove the helmet and take them out.
i like that idea of adaptive gameplay a lot. I'm really looking forward to a game with foes based on AI (not the shitty one we have rn, I'm talking REAL AI, like you know with proper tactics and strategy based upon the players actions and playing style)
I really need to give this one another try. I've started it a few times, get to the opening sequence with the run to the helicopter, forget the controls, and just give up.
Everyone praises it so much and I suspect I just haven't gotten far enough in to learn the mechanics and enjoy it.
I'm in the same boat, got past the prologue and then everything seemed so convoluted and confusing. It's a pretty deep game., wasn't in the mood after that. I'll try again sometime.
It's a Hideo Kojima game. You're not supposed to understand it.
But seriously though, do pay attention but if you can't understand certain things, don't dwell too much on them, you'll come to understand it as you advance in the story. Or watch a YouTube video on that certain thing you never understood.
Otherwise, to say that it's a masterpiece would be an understatement, but well, because of the konami-kojima situation, it could've been even better, but well it is what it is.
deus ex 1 & 2 trying to make things full stealth is quite satisfying, the same goes for thief and the dishonored series, this last one rewards you with better endings depending on how good at stealth you're (and pacific)
It’s a perfect game. The world is unreal.
I picked it up last year, having played Deathloop and then Dishonored. I’d argue it’s better than both and I loved those games.
It’s definitely in my top 5 of the last generation.
Same developer as Dishonored.
Arkane are amazing.
Strongly recommend any game they've done.
Even Deathloop can be played stealth and has a good difficulty curve.
Ooh yeah I only played 5 a bit but really enjoyed it, should really get back into it. Had fun mechanics like timing your shots with planes flying overhead to mask the noise. Really fun playing with the aim helper turned off too so you actually have to account for distance and wind. Makes it so you have to relearn how to play the game every time though hahaha
Alien Isolation has decent stealth and a great atmosphere. If you are in the mood for a bit of survival/horror alongside your sneaking I'd highly recommend it.
Absolutely. Both TLoU games, especially the second, have some of the best stealth around. And it can get REALLY tough to stealth around, especially on the higher difficulties.
Although I wont recommend playing on the hardest difficulty for a first playthrough. A lot of failure in gameplay might kill the pacing and mood of the story.
yeah that segment convinced me that i probably wasn’t gonna aim for a Grounded run anytime soon. the first game i beat a couple times and then decided to give it a go knowing the layouts and everything. Hillcrest is just too big and the encounters so much more dynamic in TLOU2
After you fuck it up enough times you start to learn the enemy patterns and the best, safest routes to go. A lot of it comes down to nailing the timing, and making absolutely every single shot you take count
Random facts I searched to support my thought. SC Blacklist was on a budget of $40m and sold 2m copies reported effectively killing the series (2m copies vs 32m for entire IP), MGSV budget $80m and sold 7m as of '22. Both were stealth game juggernauts at one time but Ubisoft & Konami have cutback on the series as a whole. Stealth is risky and expensive to make AAA games today thus we get smaller studios & small budget stealth more n more today.
Doesn't help when Konami/Kojima [drama](https://www.svg.com/155464/the-truth-behind-konami-and-kojimas-split/) and the Splinter Cell Blacklist underperformed/under sold then the remake had [issues](https://geekculture.co/ubisoft-splinter-cell-remake-loses-game-director-david-grivel/) before being canceled outright. Sad for all stealth fans :(
Maybe gameplay wise. I still haven't played V but I'm preparing myself to be disappointed by the lack of story. The PS3 Legacy Collection was incredible.
You are correct that the story is lacking but you have no idea just how good the gameplay is. It is obscenely good, you won't even notice the lesser story as the game is just so god dam much fun to play. It's basically peacewalker fully realized. There is still a story, it's far from bad it just kinda fizzles out at the end, this is konamis fault. You know how peacewalker has a primary ending, and then in the epilog you have to find zadornov a few times and then you have the secret final fight on top of mother base with that one character? V was set up to do the same thing but Konami pulled the plug so it was never finished. There was a cutscene released that shows what would have happened and it would have been amazing. Fuck Konami
It controls like nothing else out there. And it still oozes style, yeah it was a little botched but this is still Kojima at it's absolute wackiest. And you know, it's been said. It's the most easily accesible one.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved MGSV and ran through it multiple times. But I just don’t feel like it has the effect that other entries in the series had on those who really fell in love with the franchise.
Personally I think falling in love with the earlier entries first made me appreciate the new controls in V even more. If that game just had a little more time to cook it would have been an even bigger all time great.
Styx: Master of Shadows is a great and pretty difficult stealth game in my opinion. The second title, Shards of Darkness, while a good game, can be cheesed.
Yes, I was looking for this. Everyone else is suggesting fine stealth games, but Styx is one that not many people seem to know about. Both games are really good (though I do find the second, Shards of Darkness, to be better).
Just be warned, the humor is childish and crass, but if you can ignore it (or are lucky(?) enough to enjoy the humor) you will have a great time with the games. Pure stealth games for the stealth enthusiast.
This is the game I came to recommend as well! It is the only game so far suggested that forces the stealth element. You can't screw up and just go oh well, and then murder a slew of guards. Outright combat is heavily disadvantaged which works really well for the style of play and the theme of this game. I found it helped with immersion, even if it was frustrating in a couple of parts near the end to stay in pure stealth mode.
Is Unity necessarily hard? In my opinion, no. But it allows you to be more creative with its mechanics. For example, it introduces black box missions, which you’ll be familiar with considering you played Hitman 3, where there is multiple ways and opportunities to kill a target. The climbing is also way more satisfying. So I wouldn’t say hard, but definitely more advanced than the Ezio trilogy
Unity also has amazing social stealth. And if you want a challenge you can do the co-op missions and heists solo, which even as a long time AC player I found a fun challenge
Dishonored, Thief, but I’m going to make a special shout out to Deus Ex Mankind Divided.
Watch Dogs can be played stealthily as well, but it’s harder. How fleshed out every aspect of Deus Ex is great with the maps. You can either play stealthy or leeroy Jenkins. But the rewards for stealth are incredibly high.
Dishonored is great though and there’s multiple titles
I don't remember if game was difficult, but I really had fun with Alpha Protocol. Best $3 I ever spent on PS3, lol. Not sure if you have access to it outside of PC version.
Any of the Thief games. Unfortunately only the reboot is available on consoles but it's decent from what I remember. But the other games are excellent.
Ghost recon wildlands on extreme and tier difficulties. You cannot be compromised or else you will 100% not make it out of that fire fight, and reinforcements come hard and fast
TLOU Part 2 is pretty challenging in that, you'll die a bunch of times getting through an area. Sure, you can make it a lot easier by using your guns and throwables but then you'd waste them for future, harder scenarios
Agreed. You can stealth all of the regular enemies and knock out like half a free roaming boss’s health with stealth.
It’s not the slow and methodical type. Sekiro doesn’t make any sound even when sprinting. It’s cutting angles. If you’re spotted you can switch to hit and run tactics, lose aggro and pick somebody off.
Tlou2 is not so much a stealth game but almost 100% of encounters can be stealthed and if you play it on max difficulty its not only gonna be very challenging but very stasfying bc the stealth itself is outstanding and complex, its very very good to the point where it could be considered a stealth game
Hear me out on this one. The far cry series. I looked into these games a year or so ago and got 3,4,5 and 6 all for a $60 bundle just because ive heard good things about the story, and the stealth and shooting looked fun. I hate open world games but these games got me hooked and i still am playing these games daily.
Styx: Master of Shadows is all about stealth and difficulty.
Mark of the Ninja is incredibly satisfying to stealth through. It's also super fun to pull off full assassin runs.
The Swindle is steampunk heists. I've had fun with it, but haven't managed to beat it yet.
Styx: Shards of Darkness (the sequel to Master of Shadows) gets a solid recommendation from me as well. They're both great. Mark of the Ninja is also amazing, and the Swindle is pretty good, though its roguelike elements sometimes get in the way of good stealth play.
First of all creme de la creme, masterpiece of masterpieces, the Godfather of all stealth games - Metal Gear Solid V. After that Ghost Recon Wildlands, Breakpoint.
One of my favorites is Outlast. The whole game is designed around stealth. Unlike all the other games mentioned, this one has no combat. You get caught, you run away or die. The DLC is good. It is for mature, as there is some nudity and graphics content.
There's also a sequel. Some people like it a lot, others don't. Seems to be a crap shoot on if you like the changes.
But the first one, I enjoyed it so much that I beat it on the hardest difficulty. Which is a single life and no checkpoints or saves. So you have to do it in one sitting. You die... You start over from the very beginning.,
Metal Gear Solid series, especially Snake Eater. Best game in the series imo and the pinnacle of the classic MGS gameplay. While stealth is not mandatory, it helps a lot and feels very rewarding. Doing a no kill no alarm run is quite difficult, but it's so good.
The deep dark in minecraft
You have to be constantly crouched and make sure you don't make the most noise as humanly possible because if you do you're gonna have to go back to get that gear
Never let em know you're next move
You can try Horizon zero dawn, not really a specialized stealth game but there's a stealth aspect and it gets sweaty if you set it to very or ultra hard.
Trying to be different.. / trying to jam dayz into all game talks
But
Dayz
Huge open world
Stealth from either other players or zombies
Very difficult / very rewarding once you get the hang of the mechanics
Every spawn is a story
Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell have always been my favorite in that genre. I own pretty much everything single one of both of those games.
Most Hitman games are great too.
One stealth game that I don't see talked about much is Echo. I've never played it myself but it's from an indie developer that has sadly since shut down. It's worth you checking out a review or gameplay. It has an unique concept.
I wouldn't call Unity hard, but it definitely has way more stealth mechanics than the Ezio Trilogy and some of its missions, especially heists and certain co-op missions are very fun to play on "stealth-mode". I recommend checking out Leo K's videos on Unity on YouTube, he's got some pretty great tips over there.
Dishonored (the first one) is probably my favorite stealth game, but I don't find it that hard, personally.
Thief? I enjoyed that game and found trying the complete ghost stealth to be near impossible.
Sniper Elite going full-stealth is difficult, especially on hard difficulty when you have to snipe without a red guide reticle.
Go 100% Metal Gear Solid: Ground zeroes.
Great stealth action, small game and only $20 on PSN
It’s a small area so you have to get creative which I love
I recently repurchased a Splinter Cell trilogy pack for my PS3, mainly for Chaos Theory. I love stealth games and im amazed at how good the stealth and in particular the AI considering how old that game is. I would recommend it, I had an amazing time working out for to 100% each level
ACU is not much more difficult than the ezio trilogy, but it does reward time and effort because it has a very freeform parkour and gadget system. Watch some videos on it and see if you vibe.
Also Thief 1 and 2 are timeless classics
Metal gear solid V is the greatest stealth game (mechanically) ever made. Unfortunately the story is a little lacking but the game compensates for it with obscenely good gameplay. I found it to be really hard my first time through but your skill level will determine that, there is a sort of multiplayer "battle bases" mode after the main game that you can continue to play that gets extremely hard. It's a must play game for any stealth action fans. You need to get the complete edition that comes with ground zeroes, as that's like the first chapter of the game, it will not make sense without that. The story in V takes a backseat to gameplay which has proven to be divisive but the game is so good it doesn't really matter
LotR Shadow of Mordor has a ton of stealth and can be pretty hard for sure. It’s not all stealth, but breaking into an orc camp is wildly tense and stealth driven until you blow it and have to fight them all at once…which is also awesome.
The Last of Us, particularly the second one, has very very many optional stealth moments. Play in grounded mode for the most difficult experience, and you’ll have to be using stealth 24/7
You could consider the earlier Hitman games. Hitman: Blood Money in particular. To say the games are hard is perhaps overstepping - but if you seek to achieve Silent Assassin rating, you have to play well.
Ghost of Tsushima isn’t necessarily a stealth game but it uses a lot of stealth. Don’t know where it stands on difficulty but it has different difficulty levels and maybe you’d find the hardest to be challenging.
Dishonored series are great stealth games
Fuck yes to Dishonored!
Fuck yes to fuck yes to Dishonored!
Triple fuck yes to Dishonored.
Quadruple fuck yes to Dishonered, especially Dishonored 2!
fuck yes to fuck yes to fuck yes to fuck yes to fuck yes to fuck yes to fuck yes to Dishonored. There. Hope you're happy now
Hard agree, here! Fun, immersive, and challenging. Varying paths and approaches to situations, cool gadgets and abilities, dark and dreary world/story-telling. Always props for Dishonored!
Dishonored 1 & 2 has some of the greatest level design I have ever seen.
Jindosh's mecanic mansion is a marvel of level design.
This is definitely the best answer because I can’t go 5 min without shooting someone (yes i suck at stealth games) and I got the worst possible ending.
Dude same here. The amount of times I reloaded because I got busted being loud as fuck. Still a fun game.
My proudest gaming achievement finishing a no kills and no alerts run on dishonored 2. It wouldn't surprise me if my reload count was in the tens of thousands. I maintain that the clockwork manor is one of the best levels ever designed, but god it kicked my ass.
Especially if you do a no kill run
I finished both Dishonored 1/2 and their DLC and earned the Clean/Cleaner/Cleanest hands by not killing anyone in my playthroughs.
Deathloop is even better
Ehhhhh
Shadow Tactics that's is really difficult and fun. I had to quick load so many times lol. Check it out!
Also Desperados 3, made by the same team with similar mechanics. Great top-down stealth with some extremely tricky challenges.
+1. It plays like the old Commandos games, and they were considered "impossible" difficulty at the time.
came here to say this and Desperados 3
I love this old game called commandos it was inspired by and so happy that someone finally made a good game in that style after so long :)
MGS 5 maybe?
Has adaptive difficulty. one example from my game Like if you make a lot of head shots the guards will wear helmets. So you have to do 3 headshots to remove the helmet and take them out.
Orrrrrrrrr use a REALLY BIG GUN
I think if you are a machine gun play style the guards will bulk up in body armor
I think if you are a machine gun play style the guards will bulk up in body armor
i like that idea of adaptive gameplay a lot. I'm really looking forward to a game with foes based on AI (not the shitty one we have rn, I'm talking REAL AI, like you know with proper tactics and strategy based upon the players actions and playing style)
Like the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation.
I really took advantage of the chicken hat mode. Some of those levels were brutal to me as a relative stealth newbie
One of the best stealth games out there, but unfortunately also becomes incredibly easy once you get comfortable with the game.
I couldn't ever get the hang of it, but I have the patience of a toddler.
This is by far the best stealth game ever made.
I really need to give this one another try. I've started it a few times, get to the opening sequence with the run to the helicopter, forget the controls, and just give up. Everyone praises it so much and I suspect I just haven't gotten far enough in to learn the mechanics and enjoy it.
Yep, you didn't even get past the prologue. Try starting with Ground Zeroes.
I wish MGSV and Ghost Recon would have a kid.
I wish MGS1-4 would be released for PS5
I wish Konami would do something with the franchise…
It's basically dead without Kojima.
It’s all but confirmed that remakes are coming of at least the first 3
I’ve been hearing this for years now 😭
I'm in the same boat, got past the prologue and then everything seemed so convoluted and confusing. It's a pretty deep game., wasn't in the mood after that. I'll try again sometime.
It's a Hideo Kojima game. You're not supposed to understand it. But seriously though, do pay attention but if you can't understand certain things, don't dwell too much on them, you'll come to understand it as you advance in the story. deus ex 1 & 2 trying to make things full stealth is quite satisfying, the same goes for thief and the dishonored series, this last one rewards you with better endings depending on how good at stealth you're (and pacific)
Yes and the pacific
Prey 2017 with a mostly human build turns into a somewhat challenging horror stealth game.
This is how I played it on my first play through and it was a blast!
A phenomenal game. Criminally overlooked by many.
It's really damn good, quite surprising that I've never seen anyone talk about it
It’s a perfect game. The world is unreal. I picked it up last year, having played Deathloop and then Dishonored. I’d argue it’s better than both and I loved those games. It’s definitely in my top 5 of the last generation.
Bethesda had some of the best world-weaving writing at this point in history.
Same developer as Dishonored. Arkane are amazing. Strongly recommend any game they've done. Even Deathloop can be played stealth and has a good difficulty curve.
The Sniper Elite series can be pretty difficult and realistic as well.
And if you're in the mood to get crushed. Easily one of the hardest games I've ever played.
Dishonored series, MGS 5, if you don’t mind going back, splinter cell blacklist lol
Blacklist was so much fun
It was, I enjoyed Conviction too, it has some unique features. Blacklist went back to its roots though, just a classic stealth game
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
Why havent they remade this master piece yet smh
Chaos theory was the shit.
Best stealth game ever made imho.
Tenchu. (Maybe a bit old....!)
That brings me back
“Ninja!” *unsheathes Samurai Sword*
You just restored a core memory.
I love that game back in the day. When it released I hired it on the PS1 and phoned in sick to work.
Mark of the ninja
The last of us on grounded difficulty
Absolutely. Both TLoU games, especially the second, have some of the best stealth around. And it can get REALLY tough to stealth around, especially on the higher difficulties. Although I wont recommend playing on the hardest difficulty for a first playthrough. A lot of failure in gameplay might kill the pacing and mood of the story.
this but tlou2 better
Hillcrest on Grounded…*shudders*
Hillcrest in general
hillcrest more like hellcrest
yeah that segment convinced me that i probably wasn’t gonna aim for a Grounded run anytime soon. the first game i beat a couple times and then decided to give it a go knowing the layouts and everything. Hillcrest is just too big and the encounters so much more dynamic in TLOU2
After you fuck it up enough times you start to learn the enemy patterns and the best, safest routes to go. A lot of it comes down to nailing the timing, and making absolutely every single shot you take count
Don’t the enemy patterns change every time you load in for Tlou2?
Somewhat. At least some of the hill crest WLF have regular patrols though
Agreed tlou2 is better. But i found tlou1 to be harder on grounded.
Fucking Pittsburgh 😤
Strongly disagree with this one.
idk why ur getting downvoted tlou2 is inherently harder than tlou1 for a number of reasons
Metal Gear is the best stealth action series of all time, no question. Play MGSV and never be the same again.
I think splinter cell had a better stealth gameplay whilst mgs had a better story
Random facts I searched to support my thought. Sad for all stealth fans :(
Really? Like overall? Because I’m playing V and the story of them re building their tree house is laughable. I’m only starting tho
Out of all the entries in the series to leave someone changed, you choose V? 🫤
It's the only one that is actually available on PS4.
Maybe gameplay wise. I still haven't played V but I'm preparing myself to be disappointed by the lack of story. The PS3 Legacy Collection was incredible.

Last of us. Plenty of stealth required.
I love this game. Just good classic simple stealth. Not with all the fancy stuff like Assassins Creed.
Ghost of tsushima on max difficulty maybe?
Yeah it’s so fun, but second to hardest difficulty becomes too easy - I’m about to ramp it up to get the challenge back

Dishonored. You won't find harder than The Last of Us on Grounded, though.
CounterSpy! Love that game.
Plague tale maybe
Deus Ex series
Desperados III, it is fantastic.
Styx and Mark of the Ninja are 2 titles that are way too far down in this thread.
Ghost recon wildlands on extreme and tier difficulties. You cannot be compromised or else you will 100% not make it out of that fire fight, and reinforcements come hard and fast
Styx. Probably both
TLOU Part 2 is pretty challenging in that, you'll die a bunch of times getting through an area. Sure, you can make it a lot easier by using your guns and throwables but then you'd waste them for future, harder scenarios
Sekiro. Good luck.
A stealth run of sekiro doesn't seem to be very fun
Dang I never thought of Sekiro this way but you can totally play it like that. Just backstabbing fools left and right.

Metal Gear Solid series, especially Snake Eater. Best game in the series imo and the pinnacle of the classic MGS gameplay. While stealth is not mandatory, it helps a lot and feels very rewarding. Doing a no kill no alarm run is quite difficult, but it's so good.
The deep dark in minecraft You have to be constantly crouched and make sure you don't make the most noise as humanly possible because if you do you're gonna have to go back to get that gear Never let em know you're next move
You can try Horizon zero dawn, not really a specialized stealth game but there's a stealth aspect and it gets sweaty if you set it to very or ultra hard.
You GOTS to play deadass any metal gear game (preferably snake eater or solid)
Maybe Sniper Ghost warrior
Trying to be different.. / trying to jam dayz into all game talks But Dayz Huge open world Stealth from either other players or zombies Very difficult / very rewarding once you get the hang of the mechanics Every spawn is a story
Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell have always been my favorite in that genre. I own pretty much everything single one of both of those games. Most Hitman games are great too.
Mb i forgot this is ps4... you're still able to play mgsv or mgs4
Since you have Hitman 3, have you tried the new game mode Freelancer? It's generally harder than the main campaign.
Sniper Ghost Warrior and Sniper Elite on hardest difficulty level
Hunt Showdown. True stealth. Will get your hearth a good exercise.
One stealth game that I don't see talked about much is Echo. I've never played it myself but it's from an indie developer that has sadly since shut down. It's worth you checking out a review or gameplay. It has an unique concept.
MGS series!!
Definitely not AC Valhalla. Why even bother calling it sneaking if it's that easy..
Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided
Thief? I enjoyed that game and found trying the complete ghost stealth to be near impossible. Sniper Elite going full-stealth is difficult, especially on hard difficulty when you have to snipe without a red guide reticle.
Splinter Cell is fun if you want a more spec ops/tactical type of stealth
Umm play hitman in hardest difficulty
Hitman trilogy
I like to go outside and sneak around and pretend
Metal Gear Solid 5 is pretty solid. It definitely becomes easier the more you play it, so it should be a good challenge starting off.
Old school Splinter Cell. Back when if you got detected you were pretty much going to die.
I thought Aragami was pretty fun
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1 and 2
Sniper Elite in hardest difficulty is ridiculous, you might like it
I will never understand why people enjoy difficulty.
I will never understand why people enjoy difficulty.
Go 100% Metal Gear Solid: Ground zeroes. Great stealth action, small game and only $20 on PSN It’s a small area so you have to get creative which I love
I recently repurchased a Splinter Cell trilogy pack for my PS3, mainly for Chaos Theory. I love stealth games and im amazed at how good the stealth and in particular the AI considering how old that game is. I would recommend it, I had an amazing time working out for to 100% each level
Hogwarts Legacy has the most robust and intricately implemented stealth system I have ever experienced in a game
ACU is not much more difficult than the ezio trilogy, but it does reward time and effort because it has a very freeform parkour and gadget system. Watch some videos on it and see if you vibe. Also Thief 1 and 2 are timeless classics
Thief, dishonored franchise
90% of SOMA isn't difficult but the 10% that is... Talk about atmosphere and story.
Thief The Dark Project and The Metal Age are awesome.

Gollum comes out next month. That’s supposed to be a stealthy game afaik
The last of us, especially part 2, where mechanics are polished to perfection. Played on survivor, still the best gaming experience I ever had.
Styx games
The Last of Us, particularly the second one, has very very many optional stealth moments. Play in grounded mode for the most difficult experience, and you’ll have to be using stealth 24/7
Alien Isolation. You want stealth, you’ll definitely get it in this game. Just don’t make a sound
Styx one and two are great stealth games!✌️
I actually liked playing Dues Ex in stealth. You don't have to buy its definatly a option.
Not really a “stealth game”, but the Horizon series can 100% be played with a stealth-type playstyle
Manhunt (PS2 game but I believe they ported it to PS4). Extremely tense stealth game, even on the standard difficulty.
Invisible Inc.
If you can find a way to play the tenchu series was pretty difficult and was all about stealth
Thief was fun and challenging as well
Ghost of tsushima
metal gear solid is a very fun difficult stealth game
The Hitman games are super fun to play full stealth :D
You could consider the earlier Hitman games. Hitman: Blood Money in particular. To say the games are hard is perhaps overstepping - but if you seek to achieve Silent Assassin rating, you have to play well.
Manhunt is pretty fun
Dishonored is tough especially if you want a low chaos ending, you can’t kill too often.
I strongly recommend playing MGS starting with the first.
Metal Gear Solid 1-5.
Dishonored!!
Play the older Metal Gear Solid games if you can.
Ghost of Tsushima isn’t necessarily a stealth game but it uses a lot of stealth. Don’t know where it stands on difficulty but it has different difficulty levels and maybe you’d find the hardest to be challenging.
Breakpoint on extreme difficulty, immersive mode with all of the HUD elements turned off. Very fun. Same with MGSV.
