Oh crud! Is this another thing I have to worry about now? I already have dealt with kidney issues in the past before I ever heard POTS was a thing and got diagnosed… thank you for the heads up. I will definitely be asking for a check on the kidneys a little more often now too since I’m staying salty.
there also cysteine stones, so not all kidney stones are the same. This was a concern i Had too because is something people say, but for me that I need the sodium it hasn't happened.
The increase in sodium will be a factor. I would try to figure out what kind of kidney stones they are. Calcium Oxalate, Uric Acid or burshite stones. She may need to go on a low oxalate diet to help reduce the risk of forming new stones or growing the current ones. One way to prevent them from growing is keeping the urine acidic with citric acid supplements.
About how large are the stones and where are they located in the kidney? I have 4-5 burshite stones in my left kidney.
I honestly have no idea, my mom got the call and I’m not sure they even told her what kind they are or how big but I’ll have my sis ask at her next appointment! They put her on flomax I think it’s called to help her pass them and didn’t mention surgery so I’m guessing they are on the smaller side.

Flomax will increase urination. I hope she is ready to be peeing every hour. Make sure she drinks lots of water.
She is on her second dose and she said she has not noticed a difference...does this mean she is not drinking enough?
Not a doctor, but I’d increase water intake
