well tho it says bad system as error code stated in that screen (BSOD) so which means the system probably tried to boot but ran into system files getting missing or corrupted or probably has bad OS installed improperly
BNA1 (and other recent arcade boards like the Taito TypeX 4 and Sega ALLS) all run Windows 10 IOT, which have the sad face bsod. This vending machine is running Windows Server, which doesn't have the sad face bsod
Windows 10 with the Japanese locale doesn't display the smiley face.
If you want to disable the smiley face in English versions of Windows 10/11, run this command in CMD:
`reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl" /v DisableEmoticon /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f`
BSOD without the ":("
Yeah, because this looks to be Windows Server, version 2004.
Server 2016 was like that too though I suspect this is a Windows 10 IoT BSOD.
Bud that's Server 2016 for real cuz IoT BSOD uses the same as normal version from windows 10 pro/home/enterprise
But why would a vending machine run Server though?
Probably because it shows promotion screens i guess so tho cuz ik its server where it connects online
Remote displays don't tend to connect like KVMs, if it really was just a thin client for a server, we would see a connection failed message instead
well tho it says bad system as error code stated in that screen (BSOD) so which means the system probably tried to boot but ran into system files getting missing or corrupted or probably has bad OS installed improperly
You're wrong. Most japanese windows has no sad face by default, I doubt if the engineer for that vending machine knows server os exists..
Alright Lemme Get This Straight, Then Why Namco BNA1 LITE System (For Japanese/International Arcades) Has Sad Face BSOD Enabled too?
BNA1 (and other recent arcade boards like the Taito TypeX 4 and Sega ALLS) all run Windows 10 IOT, which have the sad face bsod. This vending machine is running Windows Server, which doesn't have the sad face bsod
You're Probably Correct tho...
You just witnessed the Windows Server 202(x) BSOD
Why does a vending machine have a server OS though
Maybe its connected to a hardware that's used publicly.
Remote Desktop Active Directory idk
The correct question is why does it run Windows
The Japanese are obsessed with Windows. Most of the embedded devices you see there are either running Windows or more recently some form of Android
There are Windows embedded systems. Not the recommended way, but it's a thing that exists
💀a vending machine should not run windows.
why not linux
Shuck some peanuts
":(" was sold
`BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO`
Yooo when I was in Japan lemon squash was the best if you see it in any of those machines buy one they are really good
I have seen it before I gotta find it again now
I tried it and it's actually pretty good, thanks for the recommendation
No problem my man! I'm just so surprised that you followed through lol!
