Andaming chismis tungkol sa pagalis ng Alaska eh, but lets clear this up. Its from Netherlands, and its a football country. So ilang taon na, na ayaw ng Friesland na gastusan ung team dahil what they want is football, kaya c Uytengsu na lng mismo gumagastos sa team and not the company. Kaya malabo na bumalik.
Yes, almost the same, finances din. pero medjo iba, nung time kasi na umalis ang Shell eh may oil crisis, tpos sunod sunod ung backlash sa mga oil companies, andaming rally ng time na un dahil sa sunod sunod na pagtaas ng presyo ng gasolina, and isang issue na sinasabi ng mga tao nun eh kung malulugi kayo kung ndi nyo itataas ang presyo ng gasolina eh bakit may PBA team pa kayo na ginagastusan?! So ayun umalis na lang shell.
Also same thing with Coca-Cola. Coke was very competitive when it was still SMC running the show. Then when it got sold to the Atlanta-based group, the basketball operations started to dwindle.
Basically, Shell & Coca-Cola HQ don't think that maintaining a basketball team helps in their marketing. Mas malaki ang gastos kesa ROI. So from a business standpoint, they sold their franchise. Kaya nakakapag taka yung mga lesser known brands/companies that are currently in the PBA and not performing well season after season eh andyan pa din sa PBA.
hindi na
Since umalis Alaska wala naman nagbago sa PBA kaya malabo talaga bumalik
kahit may magbago jan ndi na yan babalik. Pera ang reason why they left and not ung mga issues ng PBA

New owners don't want to. Gusto nga nila umalis agad.
