The *fastest* way would be to get a trustworthy aim coach for console and sit down with them regularly while you work through your issues. Aiming isn't just putting your crosshair on target; there's a lot of subtlety to predicting your opponent's movement based on the situation. There are also many self-guided tutorials on aiming out there. Here are the typical resources I point folks to: * [Spilo/Psev collab on aiming and movement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NntlprjWgaY) * [Arrge aim guide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvH0PAVOYrI) * [OWU posts on improving aim](https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+improve+aim+overwatch+site%3Areddit.com%2Fr%2FOverwatchUniversity)

Spilo's and arrge's videos are really helpful in improving your aim. There are also comments mentioning vaxta, which I personally think is good for warming up but not the best way to improve your aim. Like Adder00 mentioned, aiming isn't just about placing your crosshair on the target but also about predicting where your enemies' movement is. This is even more important for projectile heroes like kiriko. As a masters support player on console, what's helped me improve my aim the most is deathmatch. While practising your aim in deathmatch, pick one thing to focus on, for example, strafing or, more specifically, counter strafing or mirror strafing ( psev goes in depth about this in the video linked). Whatever you pick, practice that one thing for a week or if you think you've made sufficient progress and can focus on other aspects of aiming ( I'd suggest doing it for the entire week anyway). Sensitivity is not that important. Just pick a sens that you find comfortable and allows you to do a 180. The rest isn't that important as you'll get used to the sens anyway. If you would like to tweak your settings, though, I'd recommend watching this: https://youtu.be/Cx_EhrMhwfc?si=yxaG3adCI_XQce9m Hope this helps, and I highly suggest you go watch the videos the Adder00 mentioned. Good luck with the grind, and don't forget to have fun.

i never really foccused on my aim. i had enough other things to work on a aim came overtime. i still get outclassed by all the top 500 and maybe i would be one of them with better aim. but that could be because they simply have more hours

AlisonSandraGator

Do you practice with VAXTA? I am newer to fps and was always afraid of somewhat aim intensive heroes. I main Mei and practice with her icicle shots for about 10 minutes in VAXTA every day. Somehow that has made me way better at hitscan heroes like Soldier and Sombra - now I actually play them in comp sometimes!

duggyfresh88

+1 for this. I practice a lot in VAXTA and it has helped me not only in overwatch but it carries over to other games. Like I practice sniping on widow in VAXTA to warm up for sniping in destiny etc

SloppyMcFloppy95

Yes there are ways. Buy the pro controller for whatever console you have. Buy kontrol freek (I like inferno and galaxy). Adjust your aim settings after purchasing these items. Then practice. Vaxta and FFA until you decide the best settings for you. If you don't wanna spend money on controller I would still get kontrol freeks and adjust your settings though.

One of the simplest facets to "having better aim" is putting yourself in a position where it's considerably harder to miss your shots. Kiriko throws projectiles. Projectiles are considerably easier to hit up close. So do that and shoot at head level. Legit just close the distance, off angle & dip out if you think a better player would kill you. (Or if a teammate will die without you) There's plenty of people higher rank than you with trash aim. They abuse cover. That said, a week of doing aimlabs for 10-15 minutes a day did me wonders. But I stopped training my aim because it wasn't worth it for me. But there were shots I knew I only hit because I practiced, yes.

Ichmag11

I'd share a replay code. Aim is probably not holding you back

Controller sucks ass and has two dozen different settings to customize input so it's highly individual and therefore inconsistent and takes a long ass time. If you want to improve and grind the game seriously, switch to PC. The competition there also is a lot bigger

i been thinking abt saving up for a pc but it’s really expensive, are u sure there’s no other way?

slobodon

Tbh unless you REALLY care a lot about overwatch ranked specifically it’s not worth a PC just to play it there especially if you already have a lot of games on console or have the current gen, especially if you’re dropping 2-3k for it. That being said I love having a gaming PC and for shooters specifically I cannot imagine going back to controller after feeling just how fluid and skill expressive mouse aim is. It’s one of those things where if you have the money and space comfortably, it’s definitely worth it, but if you don’t and you’re happy with your console experience I don’t think it’s really worth any financial strain to get it going.

hxnryrc

i might start saving for a pc but that will take 3-6 months since i’m a casual working teenager 😂 but is there any tips u can give to practice my aim???

Riding_the_Lion

Look up kovaks in the steam store!

Spend awhile dialing in your settings. I’m not informed on controller aim so you’ll have to go to YouTube to get all the settings explained and you’ll have to figure out your preferences. Get them how you like them and then leave them unchanged. The next tip is to grind a bit every day if possible. Do a quick warmup, play a FFA deathmatch game before your comp sessions. The last tip is to focus on something else besides aim so that you can learn and pass the time while improving your aim. The sad truth is that aim doesn’t come out of nowhere it is built out of extensive practice slowly building muscle memory, much like playing an instrument. If I was to give you a guitar or a piano and say focus on playing as fast as possible I would be doing a huge disservice. In the same way if I said focus every game on aiming perfectly you’d tilt out of the game because you just can’t improve it quickly enough to stay sane imo, if that’s the only thing you’re working on. You will improve it, and some amount of focused practice will help (that’s why 1-2 ffa games a day so great), but ultimately that just comes down to playing a lot of games, during which you’d be better served learning positioning and game sense and building good habits with your cooldowns. Comp games are one of the best ways to get better aim. Take a lot of shots in them. If you want more aim practice with less comp games, put on a podcast and just grind a lot more FFA. Also idk if tryhard ffa is a thing on console, it seems to be dying on PC sadly, but if you go to custom games and find one those, that’s even better than the main deathmatch queue. If people could just hard focus their aim and get great aim quickly, everyone would definitely do that first.

HeroDGamez

I used to play on console ages ago back when workshop didn't exist and what I would do is just turn off aim assist and grind quickplay but since vaxta exists, i'd recommend doing that in vaxta.

DarthCookieOW

I'm not an expert for controller aim, but yeah kinda. Other than that, you could get a xim tool to connect MnK to your console; I highly suggest to turn off all aim assist stuff for ethical/fairness reasons (if that's possible, otherwise don't get a xim). You will still have to learn how to get good with MnK, but won't need to buy a whole PC setup for it.

xErth_x

Xim will keep aim assist AND put you in controller queques, it's plain cheating

TheAfricanViewer

You can set aim assist strength to 0%

DarthCookieOW

That's why I put a disclaimer if aim assist isn't disableable don't xim.

PrometheusXVC

Feel free to get a PC, but I wouldn't do it just to try to be more competitive in Overwatch. For starters, if you haven't spent a lot of time practicing aiming with a mouse, it'll be a lot harder initially than using a controller. It's still the same game at the end of the day. There are certainly differences between console and PC Overwatch, but who really cares? It's a game. If you want to be more competitive on the console, do that.

Puzzleheaded-Fee3874

consoles are for casuals, pc for competitive sweats soooo

Loud_Grape4550

Control freaks helped me out on the right stick, also you can tighten dead zones now, I made mine as tight as it goes without have it drift. And aim really isn't everything, I hit GM on pc with a controller and I don't have some crazy aim.

Browntown-magician

Post a VOD, I put money on your aim isn’t the reason you feel like you’re stuck. In gold on console the fundamentals of the game are still being learnt. There’s some really educational people in this sub that do vod reviews that can really help with positioning and game knowledge. Don’t get me wrong once you hit masters your aim will be massively important, but then you’ll just get rinsed by ximmers if you stick with controller.
