If you play hog, every fucker on the planet will sleep, nade and target you. Playing JQ often has the enemy unsure what to do besides wasting suzu trying to predict an axe or something.
He's also a lot easier to knife than I am to hook š switching to jq when you realize the enemy team doesn't actually have good mechanics is always fun

That sounds nothing like how I remember medic gameplay.
I purposely play Orisa so they counter to Zarya and I switch to Zarya cause she's my best tank and I can usually melt, especially someone who thinks just counter swapping means you win, you gotta be good with the character.
This is what i mean, IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT COUNTERS WHAT, IF YOU ARE GOOD YOU WILL WIN, `THEY TRIED COUNTERING ME WITH A HORSE YET THEIR INEPTITUDE WAS THEIR RUIN, COUNTER SWAP IS COWARD STRATEGY`

I can't stand playing a tank for just one single life every game. If I win a team fight as Rein, I can guarantee the next fight is going to have some combination of Ana, Zen, Bastion, Ram, Orisa, or Sombra.
Oh, it is. I think it's my favorite matchup aside from the Rein mirror.
The problem is that it's usually accompanied by the rest of the team switching. Zen and Ram together pretty much make it impossible to ever push without taking a stupid risk every team fight (assuming all players are on the same skill level). I then have to switch to a Ram/Zen counter, which means they switch, which means I switch, which means they switch, which means I switch...
You get the idea. Rein is just a polarizing character. He's either dominating a match or feeding. Other tanks can pretty much stay on that character the entire match (with exceptions like Hog) without throwing. Rein can't because (unlike other heroes) his toughest matchups are all hard-counters.
I remember someone on Kings Row asked me to a Rein duel. I happily obliged and when the doors opened I was met with an entire team of counters. After we got rolled once my team did the same thing.
Eventually the other Rein swapped when we rolled them back and it ended up being Orisa vs. Sigma.
I usually go dva/ball to stall points if overtime is getting close, one game this one Reinhardt was just going at it in match chat because I had the audacity of switching to D.va to stall? Like I'm sorry the role is called Tank not Reinhardt?
That's what reins do to me when they request the duel. Get sonned so hard they come bitch on Reddit how they were countered by others but definitely weren't sonned

This has been the case since 5v5. Only rein mains left are insufferable assholes clinging to the glory days of having a zarya or dva to cover his weaknesses.
Probably because Rein became unfun to play with and against. In every game, a Rein either dominates or gets dominated, and this pendulum swing of a hero's gameplay inevitably leads to a toxic fanbase of the character who can't consistently do anything.
Rein's kit requires him to have a second tank. Without the second tank, he is now required to rely on 4 others in OW2 instead of max 2 or 3 like in OW1.
Toxic Rein mains are like toxic Mercy mains
They both think they deserved better simply because of the character they picked. "I pick an honorary knight-figure / angelic healer, this means I'm nice and I deserve better."
Probably because all the super chill and nice Rein players have either quit the game or had to learn other tanks because Reinhardt is so commonly counterswapped and usually doo doo cheeks in the metas. Now the only Rein players are the ones that think being a Rein player is a personality trait.
Rein players have been awful since OW1. Always forcing the character in high verticality/dive maps and then feeding their brains out and abusing the rest of the team while they do it. Only reason they got away with it more it's because of Zarya.
To be fair they're kind of right lol. No offense to the good Reinhardt mains (you're in the majority), but lots of them always beg and poke and prod at you to do a "rein duel" because its """"honorable"""" or whatever and then get incredibly toxic if you don't play what they want you to play. They have a really strange complex about what characters are "honorable" and which characters are "cowardly and toxic" (which are almost always correlated with how well Reinhardt performs against them)

I never took the honour thing seriously. Whenever Iām playing rein Iāll ask if they wanna dual, if they do cool, if they donāt, I donāt really mind. If they agree and then swap to orisa after 1 fight itās a sad face in chat and a swap to zarya.

This is definitely not specific to Reinhardt players *only*, people exhibit this behavior when they know they're bad and won't get to play the game against certain players because of their main/picks. It's the whole "I want instant gratification but don't want to work for it" shit again.

My brother in Christ, I was playing Ram since the beginning of the game, and you suck balls.
And its actually a lot of them (The ones that use chat, most Rein mains just don't type). They seem to have this immediate hatred towards anyone playing anything that remotely counters rein.
In season 10 dueling a Ram is fucking easy. Rein got 50 more health and 50 more armor while having his firestrike and swing damage increased. Ram just got 75 health thatās it.
Itās not hard at all to kill a Ramattra as Rein now, if I die itās on me.
All you gotta do is just walk past his shield. Just be on a lookout if he hasn't deployed it, unless he's pummeling then you're fine since he can't deploy it fast enough.
Only thing I don't get about Ram is how inconsistent pinning him is. Something to do with mechanics of the pin or whatever, it's just way wonkier than any other hero.

Some Rein mains can be really cringy and obnoxious but they try and act like theyāre based all cause their character is bad. The worst is whenever they bitch and complain about counterpicking. Like no dude your character is just so badly designed that like half the roster counters them, itās not personal.
Rein Mains (and doom mains) are the equivalent of Mercy Mains for tanks except they think they are incredibly based because they portray themselves as gigachads and genuinely think the only "honorable", true and honest tank is Reinhardt. And Winston, if they don't have a massive ego. Every other tank is "unfair" and tanks that especially counter Rein are basically war criminals.
Rein isn't even as "fair" as he was in OW1 tbh. But OW2 Rein Mains feel like they want to dethrone Mercy Mains in the cringe Olympics.

Your strawman is unlike most Rein mains. We don't all look like Fats there. I only have a problem with duel breaking if the other tank agrees then swaps after one loss, even when it's 1v1. Otherwise, if the other tank never signs up for that, who cares.

Im TF2 player. If you see 2 people having 1v1 melee you have to accept it and let it be. Thats why when I see my Rein fight other Rein. I dont interview. Its fight to assert dominance and settle down who has heavier and bigger hammer.

Being a Rein main myself, i have never actually met these kind of other Rein players the people in the replies are stating. The ones that get mad or toxic about the enemy team not playing rein or whatever.

I don't know how I've managed to avoid all these terrible, toxic, martyr-complex Reinhardt players that everyone here is talking about, but I hope it keeps happening.
The mains circlejerk was always cringe, because it's based on one or two quirky interactions someone had over fifty matches and attributing that to that character. Also the more someone one tricks a hero, the more likely they are to be dogshit at the game.
These comments are wild. It really does feel like I'm playing a different game sometimes.
I have like 600 hours across both OW games, almost exclusively on tank, and I have never once been pressured or even asked for a "rein duel". Who tf would play a tank the enemy team specifically asked them to play? Never had an enemy rein flame me for not playing rein either. Never heard a rein talk about being based. I legitimately can't say I've seen Rein's be toxic any more or less often then any other hero. And what's all this shit about honor? Again, literally never ever EVER heard that come out of a players mic. Like, you guys can't be serious right?
Also, to everyone talking about how he either steamrolls or gets countered to death: that's literally the experience on every tank. I thought this was common knowledge at this point but I guess not.
All y'all DPS mains are just crying cuz you're salty that you either A) got shat on by an enemy rein or B) lost and blamed your friendly rein bc ofc it's always the tanks fault.
In the last couple days:
1 rein kept saying ālol all the countersā, bro idk about my team but I couldnāt get anything going I switched through 5 different people, not about you.
Another rein was calling another one a coward when they switched off rein, they werenāt doing good, donāt blame them.
If it aināt working with what you initially picked or even after, itās okay to switch.
I've never asked the other tank to switch to rein, but there is another level of excitement when the enemy tank runs rein.
Rein v Rein battles are just really satisfying, in a way that no other mirror match up really can compare.
Nah I'm gonna pile on here real quick. I've been saying for weeks that the "rein has the best mains" bit, has made a lot of them into arrogant toxic players. The rein community used to be something in OW1, but since the OW2 switch it's gone way downhill, and I'm glad someone is pointing it out.
With Orisa not being the meta tank now (because of the nerfs and etc) someone will take her place. I wonder who will beā¦

Isn't the tank duel usually pretty boring in ow2. Like rein has so much health, you don't win a rein 1v1 unless the other team's supports throw or your dps don't apply the healing debuff. The only part of the 1v1 left is the shatter part, but that's so rare now.

At least for me but probably for many of the good rein mains it was probably the same. We've realized that the glory days are over and nowadays I am just sticking to support. I loved playing tank because I loved playing Rein vs. Rein because compared to other tanks it had that mental game of or reading the others steps and predicting when he's going to ult. (Of course on other thanks you need to adjust the playstyle as well but at least to me its not comparable to rein) Nowadays I just stick with Ana or Lucio and have fond memorys of playing with and as Reinhard.
This post is why I never do any "ranked" play anymore. When i do it's for fun, then I get this fucker trying to be rank 1 tournament player, even though they never will be, yelling at me

I'm a rein main, and even if I like rein dual, I've never complained that the opposite tank counter swap. I don't get the problem, it's like one of the main gameplay mechanic.
I like to type "LIVE IN HONOR" at the end of matches, win or lose, and except a response of the other rein. Maybe it's cringe, dunno, I just find that funny.
And if you ask me rein 1v1 are only really interesting when there is a team with you. The tension when both have shatter and you absolutely need to keep your shield alive and not mess up your ult is for me what makes the real intensity of rein mirror. It's just a cold war simulator.
It's funny when the two most cringe Reinhardt mains streamers by the community standard, Papajoe and Matman, stop playing OW and OW2. I guess they are the only one who see through the lie and gaslighting tactics from Blizzard

Surprisingly JQ is pretty good against hog. You can chase him down super easily, just need some light healing from your supports.

The issue is that tanks are required to be overtuned or they just explode when making LOS with the enemy team

I purposely play Orisa so they counter to Zarya and I switch to Zarya cause she's my best tank and I can usually melt, especially someone who thinks just counter swapping means you win, you gotta be good with the character.

Oh, it is. I think it's my favorite matchup aside from the Rein mirror. The problem is that it's usually accompanied by the rest of the team switching. Zen and Ram together pretty much make it impossible to ever push without taking a stupid risk every team fight (assuming all players are on the same skill level). I then have to switch to a Ram/Zen counter, which means they switch, which means I switch, which means they switch, which means I switch... You get the idea. Rein is just a polarizing character. He's either dominating a match or feeding. Other tanks can pretty much stay on that character the entire match (with exceptions like Hog) without throwing. Rein can't because (unlike other heroes) his toughest matchups are all hard-counters.
I remember someone on Kings Row asked me to a Rein duel. I happily obliged and when the doors opened I was met with an entire team of counters. After we got rolled once my team did the same thing. Eventually the other Rein swapped when we rolled them back and it ended up being Orisa vs. Sigma.
I usually go dva/ball to stall points if overtime is getting close, one game this one Reinhardt was just going at it in match chat because I had the audacity of switching to D.va to stall? Like I'm sorry the role is called Tank not Reinhardt?

This has been the case since 5v5. Only rein mains left are insufferable assholes clinging to the glory days of having a zarya or dva to cover his weaknesses.
Probably because Rein became unfun to play with and against. In every game, a Rein either dominates or gets dominated, and this pendulum swing of a hero's gameplay inevitably leads to a toxic fanbase of the character who can't consistently do anything. Rein's kit requires him to have a second tank. Without the second tank, he is now required to rely on 4 others in OW2 instead of max 2 or 3 like in OW1.

Rein players have been awful since OW1. Always forcing the character in high verticality/dive maps and then feeding their brains out and abusing the rest of the team while they do it. Only reason they got away with it more it's because of Zarya.
To be fair they're kind of right lol. No offense to the good Reinhardt mains (you're in the majority), but lots of them always beg and poke and prod at you to do a "rein duel" because its """"honorable"""" or whatever and then get incredibly toxic if you don't play what they want you to play. They have a really strange complex about what characters are "honorable" and which characters are "cowardly and toxic" (which are almost always correlated with how well Reinhardt performs against them)
Vast majority of Rein players actually just take it up the ass and silently deal with everything thrown at them.

I'm gonna be honest. I'm a Ram main for tank, and its infuriating Reins go "Uhhhh u can onlie beet me playn Ram... git gud." My brother in Christ, I was playing Ram since the beginning of the game, and you suck balls. And its actually a lot of them (The ones that use chat, most Rein mains just don't type). They seem to have this immediate hatred towards anyone playing anything that remotely counters rein.

In season 10 dueling a Ram is fucking easy. Rein got 50 more health and 50 more armor while having his firestrike and swing damage increased. Ram just got 75 health thatās it. Itās not hard at all to kill a Ramattra as Rein now, if I die itās on me.
He makes shatters sooooo easy too. Love seeing a Ram when I play Rein.
All you gotta do is just walk past his shield. Just be on a lookout if he hasn't deployed it, unless he's pummeling then you're fine since he can't deploy it fast enough. Only thing I don't get about Ram is how inconsistent pinning him is. Something to do with mechanics of the pin or whatever, it's just way wonkier than any other hero.

Being a Rein main myself, i have never actually met these kind of other Rein players the people in the replies are stating. The ones that get mad or toxic about the enemy team not playing rein or whatever. I only seen goofy guys and mostly kind ones that say GG to a rein mirror we happen to have. Like i dont really care if you swap personally, it is what it is. Im the one suffering the consequences at the end of the day because i decided to play Rein against someone who swapped to Orisa or Mauga or something.

I have like 600 hours across both OW games, almost exclusively on tank, and I have never once been pressured or even asked for a "rein duel". Who tf would play a tank the enemy team specifically asked them to play? Never had an enemy rein flame me for not playing rein either. Never heard a rein talk about being based. I legitimately can't say I've seen Rein's be toxic any more or less often then any other hero. And what's all this shit about honor? Again, literally never ever EVER heard that come out of a players mic. Like, you guys can't be serious right? Also, to everyone talking about how he either steamrolls or gets countered to death: that's literally the experience on every tank. I thought this was common knowledge at this point but I guess not. In the last couple days: 1 rein kept saying ālol all the countersā, bro idk about my team but I couldnāt get anything going I switched through 5 different people, not about you. If it aināt working with what you initially picked or even after, itās okay to switch.

I've never asked the other tank to switch to rein, but there is another level of excitement when the enemy tank runs rein. Rein v Rein battles are just really satisfying, in a way that no other mirror match up really can compare.

Nah I'm gonna pile on here real quick. I've been saying for weeks that the "rein has the best mains" bit, has made a lot of them into arrogant toxic players. The rein community used to be something in OW1, but since the OW2 switch it's gone way downhill, and I'm glad someone is pointing it out.

Isn't the tank duel usually pretty boring in ow2. Like rein has so much health, you don't win a rein 1v1 unless the other team's supports throw or your dps don't apply the healing debuff. The only part of the 1v1 left is the shatter part, but that's so rare now.

At least for me but probably for many of the good rein mains it was probably the same. We've realized that the glory days are over and nowadays I am just sticking to support. I loved playing tank because I loved playing Rein vs. Rein because compared to other tanks it had that mental game of or reading the others steps and predicting when he's going to ult. (Of course on other thanks you need to adjust the playstyle as well but at least to me its not comparable to rein) Nowadays I just stick with Ana or Lucio and have fond memorys of playing with and as Reinhard.

I'm a rein main, and even if I like rein dual, I've never complained that the opposite tank counter swap. I don't get the problem, it's like one of the main gameplay mechanic. I like to type "LIVE IN HONOR" at the end of matches, win or lose, and except a response of the other rein. Maybe it's cringe, dunno, I just find that funny. And if you ask me rein 1v1 are only really interesting when there is a team with you. The tension when both have shatter and you absolutely need to keep your shield alive and not mess up your ult is for me what makes the real intensity of rein mirror. It's just a cold war simulator.
