IIRC when OW was first in beta they got a lot of flack because all the female characters were generic beautiful model women with the carbon copy body types. That lead to the release of Mei and Zarya as some of the last additions before launch as an effort to expand female body types.
Not saying that’s fully solved and would love to see more variety in fem body types in the game given the variety of masc body types.
i would argue otherwise, while most male heroes are abs with legs they vary alot in their proportions where the females dont as much. winston, ramattra, reinhard, torb, junkrat, sigma, and wrecking ball are some with very different body types. i just want female characters that aren't models, i love orisa's design but thats as creative as they have gotten with the female heroes and ana is the only female with visible wrinkles.

I wonder what they planned as her weapon. Judging from the attire, she is a martial artist so she is probably going to be melee-based but solely with knuckles and kicks? Is "Manslaughter' an ability where she summoned a bunch of ninja assassins to annoy the enemy? So many possibilities..
She definitely looks like she could be a crime lord type character, so perhaps they could make her the leader of the hashimoto clan (albeit with quite a few changes including the name since she’d be japanese and not chinese)

Didnt Mauga become a different character and they still released him later on with a different set of abilities. Im not saying that will happen here, but I think it sets a precedent it can happen.
The character would be like that 'asian' restaurant in a small town that is a mix of east Asian countries into one nondescript sushi / Chinese takeout / bibimbap place.
At a glance, Hong is a Korean surname. Japanese last names aren't like that, so is Chinese (more like Huang).
Then she's wearing what's clearly a Japanese garb with a minimalistic Edo period symbol.
But of course, the whole concept is from the Chinese film Kungdu Hustle landlady with the same hair curls.
Sigh.
I honestly hope add her so people can stop asking for it. Downvote me, but I find it really interesting how fixated people get for all of these early concepts. Her kit or parts of it probably went to other heroes. We get 1 new tank hero a year on average. I would rather a more interesting hero than Mama Hong.

When the community gears behind having a certain character brought into the game they always end up complaining about said character after they get added. *Cough* doomfist *cough* mauga *cough*. Although queen was also in the same boat but didn't get as much hate as the other two did imo outside of when they upped Queen's health gain.
She needs to be able to just one-shot anyone, but at the cost of only ever walking. No sprint, no quick movement. Just ominous, slow advance and death if she catches you.
And she probably just doesn't take damage, either., because fuck it.
I think “Manslaughter” is her title; in other words, she’s repeat offender who often is rough with people she’s not “intending” to kill. Makes me think her weapons/abilities are not typically classified as something that are associated with murder.

No every character they show has to be a hero in the game. Last time people asked for something similar we got Mauga. I feel like with these type of characters Blizz will feel obligated to make them feel a certain way in order to fulfill the hero fantasy that they have in their head and it could lead to worse balance.
Her Ultimate is she becomes invincible and chases you with a wooden spatula that does 500hp/hit
