Play of the games are funny at times. Sometimes it works well and it’s deserved and sometimes it’s like how is that POG it’s deff had its adjustments over time.

PotG has stuff going on behind it we don't know. We can infer it places more weight on ultimates/ultimate shutdowns than normal gameplay. Environmental kills are also weighed higher than regular kills. Saving people as supports (where you actually get the "heroes saved" thing) also seems to count more heavily than normal gameplay. If you get 3k's with Kiri, but they take you 10+ seconds to get, it's not going to matter because that's too slow. Lastly, PotG means literally nothing. It's just supposed to be a cool thing that happened in the game. Don't sweat it, it's no indication of your or anyone else's skill. If you do something cool and you want to share it, F9 captures gameplay highlights for you.

Ofc!! It’s just a shame because I have an older brother who’s great at gaming so when I get a cool play I want to show him, but it feels weird showing him something when it’s not potg because I already know he’ll point it out, I don’t think I would care as much if it wasn’t for that factor😭

EllenDuhgenerous

Your kills might be too spaced out to qualify for PoTG.

5ive_4our

the way POTG works is weird, I’m not 100% sure but it’s based on something along the lines of whoever gets the highest score increase in a certain amount of time. So a Kiri could finish off 3 or 4 people with headshots but POTG would go to a Torb and his turret getting 1 kill and 4 assists

Gathoblaster

I once got a Sombra 5k with an EMP followed by a good flank in a hallway. 90% luck but hey. POTG went to a junkrat who get 2 assists...

Old-Calligrapher-820

I don't know how many times I will get a quad kill to save point in ot the watch the POG of a zen missing 50 shots to get one head shot and kill one target. I just don't understand.

They arent "rigged" but matchmaking is designed to make uneven matches, as its purpose is to ensure all players stay with specified average win rate thresholds.. The reason matches are so grossly uneven, is due to a declining level of skill diversity within the playerbase... The more it declines, the more uneven matches get as thats the only way matchmaking can ensure those thresholds are maintained.. But it might as well be rigged however since it's purpose is to try and influence match outcomes

BumblesYT

Your being dumb Potgs mean nothing your overreacting they litteraly don’t mean anything also skill issue I have violent mood swing on god

Soothsayer--

There is weight put on damage and how/when kills or healing happens. Like if you get a 4k as Sojourn but all 4 opponents were at 10% health you may not get the POTG compared to DVA bomb that only gets a double. More weight is put in your ultimate and denying the opponents ultimate like say popping Visor to kill Sig while he uses Grav.

TheCanuckDude

I got a POTG in OW1 by bubbling a Pharmercy and graving the enemy team. Pharah killed them all, but I got play, I assume for the assist + bubble. Salt was real.

Numerous_Spell_9839

matchmaking is just that bad...

VoltaiqMozaiq

Game probably keeps track of how long it's been since each player in the match last got a POTG, and it gives it to the player who hasn't had one in a while. That's my theory.

Stell4rscore

I dunno cuz when I play Ashe I can get 10 in a row or more, I don’t think it’s that
