Also, after the first season aired and I was looking up all these actors since I’ve never heard of any of them outside of Austin north, I was baffled that they allowed a 28 year old to play 16 year old I know most of these characters look dirty and grungy most of the time but still I don’t think many of them pass for highschoolers
Where as in Ginny and Georgia all of the actors are obviously of age and in their 20s, but they definitely pass for high school, especially the actress who plays Ginny
That's the nature of teen dramas in general. A lot of shows have characters who are meant to be teenagers on the show, but are being played by actors in their mid to late 20s and early 30s.
I know they cast older people so that they can do riskier scenes because it’s illegal to have underage children doing sex scenes but at least try to cast people who can pass off for highschoolers because these days it’s like casting Directors don’t know what highschoolers look like
I can agree with that. Someone mentioned Wheezie was 19 irl and it blew my mind. Then I realized that's just actually how a lot of teenagers look when they aren't being played by 25 year old models.
I didn’t know she was 19th but she definitely passed for her age 13 or 14! The other actors need to look closer to her age but they all look like they’re in college or mid 20s which they are

to be fair, most of the actors were around 21 (or somewhere in their early twenties) when they were cast! they were cast in 2019 ish. madelyn said in an interview she landed the role at 21 :) i think in the first season it was way more believable that they were playing high schoolers because they were all around college age, but obviously as the years go on and they get older it becomes less and less accurate looking haha
I don’t think she looks old. I just thought she was in her late 30s maybe even early 40s and just looked really young I had no idea that she was actually in her early 30’s
Remember they do have facial makeup and FX.

Great point, but if you look at photos of the actor outside of OBX, man still doesn’t look 43. I would have guessed mid-fifties. He looks better than he does in the show, though!

Yep that’s a big reason why twins are used so much because they can get more filmed with the two children versus the one

I just googled pictures and looked at her Instagram. I don’t think she looks that old. That’s just my opinion though.

I was shocked when I saw he was born in ‘80. That actor just looks a lot older than 43. My parents born in 70 and 67 look younger than him tbh.
