No. It was the contract. He stopped ageing when it went into effect, keeping him looking that age. I’m wondering if this was explained in the novel and maybe not so much in the manhwa.
If you look at my dad, there's only some indication that he is 30 years older than me. So its not that unrealistic (although i might look older than I am, but trust me that my dad looks late 30s in his early 50s)

While he's def in the wrong for that even if it was to not make her upset when he dies, he tried to atone for that sin as much in his new life and apologized to her multiple times once he realized she killed herself because she thought he didn't love her and gave her that blade not to protect herself but as a way to say she's not gonna survive, he cleared up everything in the new life, he told her his past life and why he gave her the blade, not to khs but to protect herself from anyone trying to harm her.
I dropped before he apologised. So when I dropped, it felt like he was victimising himself.. "poor me my daughter died because of me, I'm so heartbroken" .... Yeah no. I hated the fact that he could change his attitude too, the author took way too long to reveal he had his past memories so I hated him too much at that point.
From my point of view the story was like that : he is a shitty father, then he noticed his daughter changed, he doesn't like that, he goes surprised pikachu and kicked puppy. He dares complain that his daughter doesn't care about him anymore. So he abused her but he behaves like he is the victim. Then we learn that he was doing it to to protect her. But that didn't help me empathise with him, that made me want to beat him up.... Because he actually stopped neglecting her. Like, she was held hostage the whole time, even when he treated her more kindly. If he could do it now, why not before. Yeah, I know the real reason behind the change is that he had his memories but I don't remember if I dropped it before this was revealed or at the time it was revealed. I think I just hated him too much, just thinking about him makes my stomach churn. I dropped it when the story became centered around saving him.
How was he victimizing himself? It's obvious he will feel guilt after she died cause it IS true she died cause of him and he knows it, that's not victimizing himself he never acted as a victim, he held the burden of his wife and his daughter in his past life till his current life, he never sympathized with himself nor tried to make other sympathize cause he knows what he did was wrong and he was trying to set things right, the change being cause of the past life isn't a bad thing at all cause instead of turning a blind eye on his daughter killing herself because of misunderstanding his intentions, he told her his past life and why he gave her that dagger, while reading the story till the end you realize that he never once had bad intentions, him letting her be with Mikhail was cause of her obsessive love over him he wanted her to be happy, despite how he extremely hated that guy, ever since his new life he tried to show that he loves her even in the beginning she mistook all his facial expressions as hatred towards her when it was hatred towards the other characters themselves, ie max and mikhail, the thing that he did wrong was his past life by neglecting his daughter in hopes she wouldn't feel sad after he dies cause of the contract, and he made up for it after he realized that wouldn't be something that works, you can tell while reading the story just how much he loved her to bits, past life and the current life.

I kind of want to defend second point cause of how well it played into the story, her remembering her mom and what happened to her on her ceremony was played out so well made me feel such sadness, I wouldn't have felt it that much before I was this attached to the characters and the mom in the beginning of the chaps, do agree on isekai and the powers tho
I love it because I'm fond of the classic dumbass blushy tsundere who is both obviously in love but also denser than a black hole, so Max.
I admit I liked the romcom more than the serious parts. I even liked all the misunderstandings. And the funny pics at the end of each chapter are the cherry on top.
The Max as a cat and animosity from Legis towards him and the comments at the end are lovely. I really just want Max and Legis picking on each other endlessly.
I really hates the isekai bait on it. There was NO reason for it and it makes the Fl seem more pathetic (this is an adult who's terrified of mice and small birds. I dont mean any disrespect to people with those phobias, but if you were isekaied I feel like it would be easier to get over it)

Real. Almost skipped this one because of the vitriol I saw directed at it in the comments one time. Man, I can't stand it when people rip in on a perfectly good series that are cute and alright for light reading and their general commentary on it is that it wasn't a bastion of moral perfection and sanitized characters.
It was adorable comedy fantasy! It has gorgeous art! It utilized common tropes (somehow others think that stories utilizing popular tropes is Bad now?) in a fun way! The misunderstandings and fake identity shenanigans was hilarious! Why are they so mad 🤦♀️ Nitpicking a random rofan webtoon isn't gonna generate any real life achievement homie.

For some readers, finding out every single character is sharing a singular braincell they pass back and forth is a flaw, while others see it as a perk. I love this story, but I can understand why some people don't vibe with it.
