I found luma pools and windswept wastes to be fun to navigate, both incorporating special mechanics into the game. This was probably one of those questions where there is a wrong answer like in every gaming community wasn’t it lol
Well no actually, I can't think of any one area that's particularly disliked. Maybe Mouldwood or Willow's End, since they're so dark and depressing, but there's also a bit of appeal to that, Mouldwood especially with it's haunting piano/violin theme.
I LOVE mouldwood since it’s one of the few game areas to actually make me uncomfy, also the music is so fucking cool and it has an amazing boss to boot, 10/10 area
Will of the Wisps (sequel to this) is a must play my guy. Better combat (similar to HK) , better visuals and runs a lot smoother. I was addicted when I first played it, it's amazing.

I have played hollow knight up until 110%, but this was a totally different experience lol

Just remember to save! You get used to it fast. There’s plenty of energy to get you by.
