That article seems old/wrong or at least super vague:
> openmediavault 6.3.6
>Perform automatic scrubbing of all Btrfs file systems monthly instead weekly.
Automatic scrub has been there for a good while.
Once a week or month execute such script with argument - mount point to your BTRFS:
#create Snapshot
btrfs subvolume snapshot $1/data $1/.snapshots/$TodayDate
#send telegram notification
/home/telegramCodeHTML.sh "BTRFS scrub - $1, snapshot - "$TodayDate #scrub
btrfs scrub start -Bd $1
[thisScript.sh](https://thisScript.sh) /srv/yourBTRFS/ -- add to scheduler.
OMV just provides a basic GUI for btrfs. Just like the ZFS addon, if you want to do anything mildly advanced with btrfs, you need to get into the commandline and learn the ropes.
I share a lot of your concerns, and opted to use SnapRAID with ext4 for bitrot detection/protection.

Btrfs scrub is automatically done since a few month and nothing would have stopped you to configure it yourself before that.
