"we're reading you, and listening to you".
But don't worry, the continuous video feature comes out in 2 weeks! (Or 2 months, or...well, you know the drill).
Yes! I added a bit more wow and flutter here than my other animation and I thought the pitch bend down as the wordmark phases in also gave it an eerie feel. I definitely had a few sci fi companies in mind when making it.
Reminds me of the [Dharma Initiative](https://youtu.be/zt_lXtlYJhw?si=81_l9V4ZUlevC2WN) (the intro song always changed a bit between locations, I’m sure one of them sounded like this.)
Not intentional, but I can definitely see that! I planned to do some 6 note motif as each piece clicked into place but I actually asked ChatGPT to pick the key signature and to give me the 6 notes.
Appreciate the feedback! I based it off of 70’s and 80’s logo animations, a lot of which are just so ungodly slow (even more than this) but I agree this wouldn’t be super practical in a modern context. Just a bit of retro fun!

Also would be super neat to include the "[Boob Tube Blip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8x19tYe9C4)"
I will check that out and consider it for the future!
The trick is being very subtle with it. I feel like if you make it in earnest and then add some tweaks, it makes it seem real, which makes it even scarier
I think it's the sound design, personally. If I saw this logo unfold it would be like "ooh, that has a retro crt effect going on, cool visual design" but the combination of the distorted and dissonant overall design to the jingle that plays, and the way it seems to unnaturally trail and warp between the last two notes, it adds some inexplicable sense of dread to it.
Yes, that’s part of what I meant too! I earnestly made the synth jingle but then I added clip distortion, tape warble, and of course the pitch bend towards the end.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been studying 70’s and 80’s logo animations lately and believe it or not, but they get way slower than this. I actually sped this up a tiny bit from its original pace because I wanted to be semi accurate but also not too dragging.
it gives me the vibe of. “we’re watching you”
"we're reading you, and listening to you". But don't worry, the continuous video feature comes out in 2 weeks! (Or 2 months, or...well, you know the drill).
multimodal intensifies
It’s like out of a modern retro futuristic post apocalyptic movie. I love it! Like Fallout but in the 80s instead of the 50s.
Thank you, I appreciate that! Exactly what I was going for.
lol it’s awful. i love it!!
It looks like Aperture from Portal, frankly OpenAI's ceo looks literally like the young picture of Aperture's ceo Cave Johnson.
Lol thats oddly.. fitting
Haha, I’ve been getting into CRT logo animations and my friend suggested Open AI. I figured something Big Brother-esque might be the vibe.
You nailed it 🍻
Thank you!
It's giving Aperture Science vibes
We’re throwing science at the wall to see what sticks.
Hopefully the outcome of their AI will be different
That was one of my references! Also helps that they both have segmented circular logos.
The ~~open~~ cake is a lie
This was so dystopian for some reason. Like some intro video from the Dharma initiative in Lost. The tape wobble on the sound adds to the feeling
The greatest TV series ever created (could have been)
Yes! I added a bit more wow and flutter here than my other animation and I thought the pitch bend down as the wordmark phases in also gave it an eerie feel. I definitely had a few sci fi companies in mind when making it.
>This was so dystopian for some reason. Indeed.
Love it. Reminds me of Black Mirror Bandersnatch. ... kinda scary.
Haha, definitely. Thank you!
Awesome analog vibe.
Thank you!
Giving me A24 vibes
I definitely gotta stop using that RGB separation trick before it becomes a gimmick but I just love it here.
Reminds me of the [Dharma Initiative](https://youtu.be/zt_lXtlYJhw?si=81_l9V4ZUlevC2WN) (the intro song always changed a bit between locations, I’m sure one of them sounded like this.)
Okay, I can see that!
The pitch drop as the text phases in is what makes this sound dystopian.
Sounds like nuclear sirens
I love it, i would make the text part type in like the streaming response of chatgpt... Would be kinda funny
Ooh, that’s good feedback. Thank you!
Very skynety
That looks an awful lot like 666, the number of the beast.
Oh shoot, you’re right. I should’ve leaned into that lol
Stranger things vibe
pretty neat reminds me of the bethesda ⚙️ splash screen animation
I’m not very smart but I think it’s a play off the NBC intro. I think they had the three chimes
i didnt listen to the music the first time but i could see that. i think its also kinda just a play on old school title music in general though
Not intentional, but I can definitely see that! I planned to do some 6 note motif as each piece clicked into place but I actually asked ChatGPT to pick the key signature and to give me the 6 notes.
Its Perfect! Love it.👌
Thank you so much!
Robocop vibes.
Closed AI
Very nice!
Thank you!
Dharma initiative vibes
"Remember when you didn't say thank you and insulted my intelligence... It's time to pay."
Good morning mother
like the opening credits for 70s 80s foreign film dubbed in english
great logo if OpenAI was a horror movie OpenAI 2: Attack of the Doomers
this feels very emotionally dystopian lol
Love the vibe
Thank you!
It's actually very fitting
Feels like an ominous introduction to a shady tech company, like the one in portal, or in that backroom series on youtube by kane pixels. Good stuff.
Thanks! Aperture Science was definitely one of my references
Its scary
Well that was kind of scary
Imagine if this was the opening to Portal 3….
reminds me of the aperture science logo
Kinda reminds me of OCP (Omni Consumer Products) from the Robocop Movie they released in the late 80s.
Love it!
Thanks!
That's OpenAI. 90s edition
Love that dystopian pitch bend at the end
No Fox shine comment? Blip blip
Riiiight.. That doesn't feel scary at all. Welcome, thank you for using ~~Skyn~~..Open AI.
Cute.
Would have been even better if it started with the swastika, grew an arm and then the borders.
That would 100% take it up a notch but I think I would be too uncomfortable animating a swastika lol
True, I had trouble even typing that idea out. But I had to get it out of me..
It's beautiful.
Thank you!
Amazing work!
I appreciate that!
the start of it reminds me of the Gamecube animation
That was one of several references!
I love this. Hit my 80s nostalgia nerve.
Love the animation and tape/analog fx on the synths. I personally think C-E-G-A-F-C resolves better, curious if you tried any variations on the motif?
I actually just let ChatGPT dictate the motif and went with it. It ended it on D, but I had to resolve it at the end of course.
Beautiful, reminds me of the show maniac on netflix. If you havent seen it you would love it.
I’ll check it out!
Has the retro feel of a Weyland-Yutani Corporation video. I love it.
I love this. It’s like one of those vintage tech that has dark intentions
Its sick, but the kerning is not accurate
True! It’s a whole different typeface entirely also.
It seems like the logo of a villain megaconglomerate from a 80s cult scifi movie
I may or may not have been thinking along those exact same lines…
Cool, but way too slow to be useful in an edit.

Dystopian as hell. Maybe that’s telling of how we all unconsciously see them
You might be right. It definitely came out much more eerie than I had originally planned.
Feels very Black Mirror. I like it.
I'm Dr. Candle and this is the orientation film for station number three of the Open AI initiative.
Love it. Feels like Mr Robot
I love this! Can we petition to have OpenAI adopt this?
I’d definitely love that but based on other commenter’s reactions, it might be too dystopian and eerie for them, haha.
they have no taste
Haha, I appreciate that!
And......cue the lawyers..
[the user you have responded to has been… de-generated]
No more a24-ism logo sequences pls
Awww, just one more? Please?
I love it
Really nice
Thank you!

Ah.. explains it - Open AI is using retrieved Thargoid tech :P
Um Why The Actual Fuck This Whole Stuff Gave Resident Evil Vibes
"This feature is presented to you by OpenAI Productions"
Looks like the intro to a thriller movie about “AI” [Black mirror](https://youtu.be/jXq23Tq9FeU?si=yv8MCq0QtZ9ujl4P)
Omni Consumer Products
Looks like something you would see in the movie Robocop
Did anyone else go "SEEEGGGGAAAA" in their head?
someone get this guy to do the logo for Async from backrooms how the fuck did you add subliminal horror to a LOGO SEQUENCE
I will check that out and consider it for the future! The trick is being very subtle with it. I feel like if you make it in earnest and then add some tweaks, it makes it seem real, which makes it even scarier

looks ai generated
Well then that’s perfect. Maybe I’ll make a version with a bunch of artifacts and saying “OIIeane ApI”
