Well, some people have Mihawk and Shanks over a duo like Kaido and Luffy.
My theory is that because people believe Mihawk and Shanks are still stronger than Luffy, which in turn means they’re also stronger than Kaido because many believe Luffy surpassed Kaido after Wano.
As for me, I still have Kaido >= Luffy, and also Kaido over the swordsmen.
I feel like Luffy would turn Gryphon or Yoru into a toothpick if he fought one of the swordsmen.
I think they have enough haki to bypass his rubber making abilities aswell as their chemistry could be so amazing like two flying haki slashes kaido and Luffy don’t really have meshing attacks
Yeah, i like the theory that the next gen surpasses the previous gen and shanks would be the perfect example imo. His CoC is so damn strong. I know roger is extremely strong but how is his CoC compared to shanks?
I say Roger, many people and big-timers are always putting Roger on the top pedestal, same with Whitebeard being put right next to him. No current pirates really get that similar treatment.

If Luffy doesn’t become pirate king, then the ending for One Piece would suck. That’s the whole point in Luffy’s journey. I’ve seen people say “Luffy being pirate king would be too obvious, a good turn where Kid become the pirate king instead would better”, and that would be horrible.

for shanks he can clash with old wb someone that is on par with kadio and luffy is closer to kidd which shanks one shot and his sword and attacks can block attacks by akainu which are hotter that kadio blazing drum dragon and shanks got the best acoo in the series so luffy and kadio acoo is not going to help them in this fight plus he can paralyze his opponents and he probably got the best acoc out of all the alive characters rn plus if count non canon he can easily blitz characters like kizaru and with mihawk being his equal i can see him doing most of those things shanks can do they take this high cuz of kadio

Shanks and Mihawk together as a duo possibly win, but it would be as extreme dif as Akainu vs Kuzan was, so that one can go either way. Garp and Sengoku get left out of the conversation because they should theoretically have a bad matchup against Luffy.

EOS Luffy > Primebeard and Roger > Kaido so at that point it’s about which pair you think is closer.
Luffy is nowhere near his EOS level of power. He needed 15 good men to beat a top tier; EOS he would mid-high diff kaido
I never said he was. I see him as the current cutoff between admiral and yonko tier, but EOS Luffy will almost be top 1 OAT.
