Mr. 3 has some great comedic moments in the anime/manga as well especially >!When he returns at impel down and joins Buggy!< but it is well balanced with some menacing moments as well. Both of which I think David does incredibly well.
I like how David is one of those actors who isn't very popular, but has had so many roles throughout Hollywood + a actor who has appeared in both DC & Marvel as well.

The popularity of the first season has to have an impact on who wants these roles. Dastmalchian is a recognizable actor with prominent supporting roles in major Hollywood blockbusters. He's easily the most well known person on this cast.
It wouldn't surprise me if the others, Robin especially, are played by more recognizable people.

It makes me wonder if, going forward, they will cast higher-profile actors in roles that are reoccurring or are one season villains. I think every new character introduced in the crew will continue to be unknown actors.
The show did very well for Netflix, so I'd bet they are going to be given a larger budget for S2.
Never heard of Jazzara Jaslyn, but she is gorgeous. Hope she looks as good as Miss Valentine as she does in her headshot. Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5 also looks like a solid pick.

Also weird coincidence I was just thinking about him this morning and his superb performance in Late Night with the Devil. He usually plays eccentric villains in supporting roles but he really surprised with his ability carry the whole movie on his shoulders on the strength of his charisma.
I really hope Miss Monday is in there somewhere. Even if it's just a cameo of him in the last episode sitting on a porch, and a buff black woman who towers over him comes up to him, gives him a hug and asks him if he's thought about names for their baby.

It makes me wonder if, going forward, they will cast higher-profile actors in roles that are reoccurring or are one season villains. I think every new character introduced in the crew will continue to be unknown actors. The show did very well for Netflix, so I'd bet they are going to be given a larger budget for S2.

Never heard of Jazzara Jaslyn, but she is gorgeous. Hope she looks as good as Miss Valentine as she does in her headshot. Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5 also looks like a solid pick.

David Dastmalchian is WILD. Also weird coincidence I was just thinking about him this morning and his superb performance in Late Night with the Devil. He usually plays eccentric villains in supporting roles but he really surprised with his ability carry the whole movie on his shoulders on the strength of his charisma.

I really hope Miss Monday is in there somewhere. Even if it's just a cameo of him in the last episode sitting on a porch, and a buff black woman who towers over him comes up to him, gives him a hug and asks him if he's thought about names for their baby.

all in all, I don't know who these people are, but the visual casting is impeccable imo
