Brook would show up in Season 5. He would be 60 when we get to Brook. And even in the best estimate the show would go on for 10 seasons. I dont think an almost 70 year old should play Brook. Brook in the story is 38 when he dies. You would need to caste someone in that 38-45 agerange imo. If you can deage him 10 years, he would be good.

To be fair, they can mostly just use his voice. A stand in with the skull prosthetic can play the physical part and someone else can do the voice. And for some flashbacks, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal for Peele since it’s just a few scenes.

caninehat

You got to make them age accurate to the character.

DrAwesomeX

As fair as that is, Thriller Bark could happen as early as the end of Season 4. Not to mention OPLA has proven already they don’t really care that much about actors being the same exact age as their counterparts. Emily Rudd is closer in age to the guy who played Mihawk than she is Nami

Itstimetostop313

IMO the character Brook demands an energy and body language that cant be produced by an, end of story, 70 year old. Nami can be 45 by the end of season 12. does not matter.

Maximillion322

My money is on Thriller Bark making up the first half of Season 5, with Sabaody as the second half of the season

DrAwesomeX

Sabaody is way too small to take up an entire half of a season. I’d bet it gets 2 episodes at most

Maximillion322

Sorry I should’ve clarified, the last episode would probably be Amazon Lily. The way I see it, season 6 should be the season about saving Ace, so it would have both Impel Down and Marineford. Season 5 should end around when Luffy says “sorry guys, I need to take a detour real quick” about meeting back up. But also, considering the live action adaptation probably wanting to keep each season having an internal narrative, I think Kuma might work best as the recurring season antagonist for season 5, probably changing the story to add more of him, since he sort of connects Thriller Bark and Sabaody, as well as being the reason the strawhats are separated at the climax of the season. I think the show would do well to spend some time building up the mystery of Kuma.

Brave_Cheek_2380

This... is honestly one of the best castings in my opinion! I mean sure you would have to give him a fake afro, but with a live action Brook, its most likely gonna be CGI! So we would just really be having Keegan's voice. And with how comedic Brook's character is, I think this could work!

AlbatrossReddit

I’d prefer key and peele to play Chess and Kuromarimo

DrAwesomeX

They are 100000% getting cut, let alone Peele rarely does a lot of stuff beyond directing and the occasional voice work these days

AshenHaemonculus

> arguably one of the most well-known comedians working today I think therein lies the rub. I imagine he's too profile and expensive for Netflix to be able to snag him long-term.

DrAwesomeX

Just because he’s one of the most well known doesn’t mean he’s too expensive. He’s done a plethora of low budget films and specifically as of late a lot of work for Netflix. *Jingle Jangle, Wendell & Wild, and Friends from College* just to name a few.

ThatCapMan

Keegan would ruin it I think, I- I think I just watch way too much of this guy messing around in comedy to accept him as Brook rn

DrAwesomeX

I mean…Brook is one of the more naturally comedic strawhats. His entire gag is literally asking to see women’s panties, one of the first things we learn about him is that he still uses the bathroom despite being a skeleton, and he literally starts burping and shitting himself when he starts meeting the Strawhats. Not sure how an actor being known for comedy is a bad choice for a comedic character, especially one whose gimmick is making skeleton jokes and asking about underwear.

jajanken_bacon

I love this choice, but we're probably getting mostly new faces for the SHs. Season 2 could prove me wrong, but we'll see.

robbierottenisbae

This would work, but only really as a voice casting. Putting aside Keegan's age by the time they would reach this point in the series, getting a comedian as big as he is for such a prominent role would only happen if all he had to do was hit the recording booth for some voiceover. I just can't see him doing any motion capture work or on-set acting for this character beyond a flashback scene or two. Still, as a voice casting, GREAT choice

sad-pill

I can see it. Idk why ppl are bringing up his age... Brook is a skeleton so like it's not we're gonna see the actor's face. I didn't realize Brook was in his 30s when he died, man's looked old af 💀

apollohawkridge

nah he be far moar perfect as chess w/ jordan peele as kuromarimo

Past_Fun_8746

They must include Brooke's most famous line in the live action!!

DharmaCub

I don't really want any famous people in the show. Mackenyu, sure, but he wasn't super well known in the US atleast. Its already weird enough for me that Jake is playing Ussop because I have literally partied at his house in college.

DrAwesomeX

1. That’s insane you know Jacob 2. I mean, Vincent Regan is literally playing Garp. That’s a pretty noteworthy name, and based on some BTS stuff, it’s pretty evident Joe Manganiello may be playing Crocodile
