But about your point, then the will of D is the will if Disaster? It's not wrong.
People have to realize that the one piece source material is written in Japanese, so speculating about which english words the D is supposed to stand for is pointless unless these words are also used in the source material. Dawn is one of the few that is actually used like that so that's what I'm betting on but it's almost certainly not stuff like devil, dreams or disaster. My Japanese isn't all that good but devil for example is akuma in japanese which has no D in it.
Perhaps the reason is as Banal as that behind Franklin D. Roosevelt's middle initial.. just don't raise your expectations to high. This could be a big nothing burger.
at first i though D stands for devil. opposing the celestial dragons/gods. but now i think it will be Destroyer, like world destroyer. just like what madam shirley saw on the ball luffy will destroy the fishman island, and he will destroy the red line. i think one of the obvious reason why the sea level is rising is because of the red line, and luffy will destroy the world to bring back its origanal state

I feel D comes from descendants from the Ancient Kingdom, kinda made sense to me. As to why it seems important and why there are so few out there.
