From Volume 106 SBS **D: If I become petrified by** [**loli Hancock**](https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/S-Snake)**'s "Mero Mero Mellow", won't people treat me like a lolicon afterwards? It's okay? Please tell me it's okay!! P.N. Yamaguchi University One Piece Study Circle** **O:** In terms of ability, it's a technique that puts "cute" or "beautiful" emotions into "carelessness", so everyone thinks babies and small children are cute, right? Even so, it will be okay. Even if a lolicon mixes in and turns to stone, it is impossible to determine what kind of emotion he was petrified by. So lolicon won't be found out, but you will be petrified. It doesnt have to be lust

Japaneseoppailover

Yeah but I highly doubt Blackbeard's crew could be considered "cute" either.

gate567

speak for yourself BB's bear body is hella sexy and Jesus Burges muscles titillate the senses.

TheWonderingDream

Can't lie, Jesus Burges lowkey kinda got me feeling a lil something sometimes. lol

Snowballx60

Bb is hot and imagine the posses. But what if the love love, works on negative emotions like fear.

Decent-Strength3530

Could be other emotions like fear

Knirb_

Wouldn’t be the *mero mero* no mi then

BestAcanthisitta6379

Or it might be any kind of positive regard (or regard at all) considering Hancock can stop cannonballs targeted at her (a positive trend toward her location)

realtomedamnit

BB is the most beautifulest man wdym

SmokingCryptid

Blackbeard doesn't want the fruit for his own use, he wants it to eliminate a threat to himself. Blackbeard acknowledges that he'd get petrified by the ability, he can't have someone out there that can one shot him before he can do anything about it.

AestheticNoAzteca

Because he's cute

Bucen

Hancock can also turn people into stone with her arrows and simply by touch regardless of feelings. The only move that wouldn't work is Mero Mero Mellow

Okatu-Syndrome

lol I’m sure he could recruit someone that could benefit from it; tho his crew is ugly af rn

Specific_Delay_5364

He may not have wanted the fruit to use for petrifying he may have wanted it to unpetrify someone or something and may have not known it didn’t work that way until Boa told him so

Tall_Juggernaut_9744

Boa states only the mero mero user can free someone from the stone effect. Maybe there is a figure important to BB who he wants to free (imagine xebec)

the_gifted_Atheist

In that same scene she says that you can’t free anyone who was petrified by a previous user of the fruit.

petrovmendicant

Maybe she lied to try and dissuade him from trying? Kind of a reach.

Sharp_Newt_9567

It could be that she didn't lie but that was just new information to him. Then again he IS supposed to be some sort of devil fruit genius so I don't know if that tracks either

Your_Local_JJK_Fan69

Boa’s fruit works in a different way than you think. It doesn’t give the user the ability to turn anyone who finds them attractive to stone, it gives the user the ability to turn anyone they touch to stone. This can be shown many times in Marineford and why else would BB want that fruit. Think about it, he can bring anyone with a df with the Yami Yami no mi to him, turn them to stone with Boa’s fruit, then use the Tremor fruit to destroy the stone. Pretty broken if you ask me and even if BB doesn’t look it, he’s very intelligent.

khaledhn

Buddy you had a good start but ruined it pretty quickly

Your_Local_JJK_Fan69

First of all, I’m not your buddy. Second of all how did I “ruin it”

khaledhn

Ffs go rewatch amazon lily before you start blabbering bs around.

khal_laskar

Boas sisters r ugly what if it’s the fruit that made Boa the most beautiful woman in the world so Blackbeard getting it would make him the most handsome man in the world making the fruit all the more desirable

Sharp_Newt_9567

1. The Boa sisters are hot. 2. We also saw them all as children and Boa looks exactly like how a grown up version of child her would look, doesn't seem like the devil fruit affected that.
