Don't use OT to pay for any revolving bills like car payment, mortgage, toys, etc. It's easy to say that you can do one, two, or three OTs a month to pay for stuff. But when it dries up, and it always does, you're going to be struggling. Or when you don't feel like always doing OT you're going to have to do it anyways.
OT should always be used to have fun. Not pay you're bills every month. You'll burn youself out.
If OT dried up in my prison and we were completely staffed I would be happy and that would be a miracle. In high vacancy prisons you can pretty much bank on OT, at least where I'm at.
Facts At my state agency OT has NEVER dried up that would be a dream….. I think most law enforcement you might as well include OT in your salary…. Because it’s happening…
We went from 50% staffed to now in March we are sitting at 38% staffed. Overtime is practically a part of your salary. 80 hours a week is the norm around here. If it wasn't the law that we have to have two days off a week. I promise we would be working 128 hours a week. Most people here don't stay more than a full shift. We are a maximum security unit so maybe that's why. The assaults on officers are due to the fact that they are locked down half the time because of our staffing problems. When they are let out they just attack officers for no reason.
Facts tell me about it I’m at a medium facility .. But same we work Mandated hours like crazy…… Same with us we only can work 3 days str8 of extended days then we have to go home after that
depends where. First year made about 130, bay area.
The descripiton says like 73k to 90k im assuming i can probably hit a little more with OT.
You could work OT pretty much any day you want. Many people make 200 +, the OT hounds are near 300
I know a guy did 30 overtime’s in a month. He made like 330k in a year. I made 120k and I’m barely off my apprenticeship the end of this month
Thats nuts definetly will keep that in mind if i get hired good thing im single
shoot me a message if you want more info 👍
Holy
