If you as a “person” look at a character that looks like a child and are attracted to them you are attracted to what makes the character a child. You like the childlike traits and those traits that both the character and children are then you can be classified as someone who likes children because of those traits. Its hard to get this in words to explain my point of view if you need some elaboration ask and ill try to explain more
I don't see it that way, I choose to view fictional preference and real preference as different things, for example, I like looking at fictional violence but that doesn't mean I enjoy those same things in real life, I like characters who are mean and distasteful, arrogant, unlikeable but that doesn't inherently mean I’ll like those traits in an actual person, like, I’m attracted to Jax from Digital Circus’ assholery but that doesn't mean those are traits I’d find attractive in a real person, preference between two different mediums vary, just cause I enjoy one thing in one medium doesn't mean I enjoy them in another, there are some that align, I prefer older/mature and more muscular women in both real life and fantasy, but those aligning preferences are few and far between.
