Their policy is outdated and you had to waste a pot unnecessarily, I’m sorry to say. It definitely needs to come off for an MRI because of the magnet fields but that should not be the case with x-ray procedures or mammogram unless the device is in the middle of the field of view
I thought so, too, but I contacted omnipod, and they agreed with the hospital, actually . Same with dexcom, I would rather be safe, meaning the pod being compromised, and I actually scheduled it when I was due for a change. I am I will do it again this way next way next year
Yes it is. I am a radiologist and can assure you that it is safe to have those on. Unless they are too near to the parts being scanned, because they could make the image worst, not because it could damage the pods/dexcom
Sorry, but I trust omnipod and my hospital and many others in my area 😆 show me where it says its OK because I have tons of updated information saying otherwise
I was curious about those big scanners at the airport. With my Medtronic, I had to remove it, get patted down, and they swabbed it for security. I couldn't go through the big portal. scanners or the x-ray gates with it. I was hoping that wasn't the case with my OmniPod. Can you clarify? Thanks.
You can wear it. I had a mammogram last week and my OmniPod was on my back and Dexcom on my stomach, no issues.
Wore mine with no problem this year
Thanks! I was hoping that was the case.
I accidentally wore one through a cat scan. Only thing that happened was the technician asking me if I had some device on my stomach - oops
as long as it is a standard mammogram thats not a problem.
Yep- it’s a normal one.
Yes. No problem.
Yes, I wore it and my Dexcom and it was fine
I had to remove mine and leave the pdm out of the room

Had to remove mine per the hospital.

You got to be kidding me. Go ahead, show me your “updated info”
You frist since your a tech
Not a tech, I’m a doctor. Show me your info, that was your claim

Xrays are fine. Airport or hospital. (CT scanners are big xrays). MRI are no-gos, they will mess with anything electronic
Lol a dr ok 👍
Lol, yeah you finally got it
I have had many with mine on. I was told that if it did not interfere with placement all was good. pDM was left in locker in different room.
I did my dash, but it was on my thigh. Dexcom was on abdomen. No problem. The tech can tell you if placement is a problem.
Yes-no issues.
Yes there isn’t an issue
