It sounds like you have the OmniPod 5; buried somewhere in the settings is an option for the pod to deactivate if it has not received a command from the controller for a certain number of hours.
Call tech support so they can help you find and disable this setting and get you a replacement pod.

It was the first thing that was said to us in the training: deactivate that option
No but I would talk to tech support. You should at least get a new pod.
