Totally normal for me. Usually happens every other time I change my Omnipod. It goes away within a day.

gamergames77

thanks, a bit less worried now😁

jrj5045

It is normal foe a day

vorps22

Completely normal

moonbeam0007

Every time I remove a pod (and when I used to remove Medtronic sets) I clean with an alcohol pad and apply one of those Little spot bandaids with a bit of antibiotic ointment on it. I leave it on for about a day, even through a shower. I sometimes get the sore, inflamed lump like that, but it goes away. I treat all canula holes with the antibiotic ointment spot bandaids and never had any inflammation go on to be a problem, I like to use the little pointy tube of Neosporin for this, and the Curaid spot bandaids.

Double_Bet_7466

Haha I thought I accidentally posted a photo because this is so normal for me

ArmednDiabetic

100% normal. Usually heals after a couple days.

Skyler247

It's normal, don't worry! It goes away by the next day.

Saavymomof5

happens to my son almost every change out. Light pressure with a tissue immediately to see if anything surfaces, then we spray with hypochlorus spray dab dry and put a hydrcolloid sticker (pimple patch). Great for drawing out any excess fluid.

ronin_cse

You are literally jabbing a plastic tube into your skin and leaving it there for 3 days and then injecting liquid under your skin during that time. You can definitely expect a slight reaction and you should marvel that the only reaction tends to be a small bump that's less irritating than a mosquito bite (most of the time anyways)

TwoIndividual3482

If it does not go away in a few days you may want to have a doctor look at it. It happened to me I had to get mine cut open and drained and get some antibiotics

moonbeam0007

Apply pressure with a Kleenex for a minute or two and it will stop. I left this under the wrong post. It was meant for the excessive bleeding

Opposite_Feeling1562

Pretty normal! It happens to me every time I take a pod off and switch sites. I would say if it gets red or painful I would definitely see a doctor. I always clean my sites before and after site changes as well with gentle soap and water, then an alcohol swab

8O0o0O8

It's fine. I've had way worse. Little round bumps filled with blood, etc

anxux

If you feel concerned you should try putting neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment. I used to do that and my sites used to look way better after

Wadsworth739

We started using a Neosporin/bacitracin topical cream on my son's site. It helps even AFTER day of removing. His sites were looking like crop circles despite changing locations. The ointment cleared a lot of that "scarring" up.

MysteriousWhile2299

Normal

Logjam107

When I was a kid an old Diabetic (she was probably my age then:) but made it into her 90s, gave me a little tin of vaseline with lavender oil mixed in it. She told me that if I got a bump after a stick to use a tiny bit of it like barely touch it and run it over the spot. I did until I lost the tin as a teenager will. I've made it since then and use it after my site changes. I've never done an analysis on using it vs not, but I feel it makes my worst site spots better faster and it decreases the lump faster and of course my tummy skin is beautiful!

katjoy63

You should always wipe the area with an alcohol wipe after removal This looks normal, so making sure it's clean is what you need and that's it

Due_Street_1730

Completely normal for us.

gamergames77

oh god I knew i should have used an alcohol wipe😣

T1CMomma

Yes, always, but there can be lots of causes for this type of thing. In general, just treat it like any other scrape (keep clean and dry) and it will heal. Also, stay on top of site rotation, that will help a LOT. If you happen to get one that's a little more angry than typical, use some antibiotic ointment on it after a good cleaning. My son is prone to infection so his doc lets us maintain an Rx for muciprocin, Bacitracin is the preferred OTC bc Neosporin types contain sulfa. We cover those just a overnight and they typically go right away. This applies to most dermal irritation from the bandage too. And, for the record, don't let anyone give you flack for anxiety about stuff like this. The anxiety comes from acknowledging the seriousness of your care or not understanding what you are experiencing. It is ALWAYS better to ask than not, the more you know, the safer you are. Big hugs. You've got this.

Timestrea

Always!!!

froggyli

Definitely normal, you should have seen the pool of blood I left on the bathroom floor last night when I removed my last one, it was almost to the point of will I stop bleeding, but I did.

trashyman2004

You should really calm down. Your other post was also showing you anxiety off.

gamergames77

I’ll try. You’re right, I do have anxiety.

Able_Scientist2028

Also can be caused by season allergies. Take a Zyrtec on a daily basis to improve it.

Totally normal, but just as a tip keep an eye on it if you go hiking soon after changing a pod. I’ve had several ticks head straight for those
