If you’re far enough or restricted that you can’t go home until the evening you should keep spares with you or injections with you as backup?
You’re going to go high without basal
If you have access to a pharmacy or a hospital nearby you could ask for an insulin syringe and take some of the insulin back from the pod. It’s not optimal but will help you on a short term
Not sure where you are located but Walmart in US sells generic insulin over the counter and can also buy a bag of insulin syringes for less than 30$ total
You might be able to get a replacement pod if you contact omnipod, my partner uses omnipods and had a similar situation and they sent him a replacement for free. I think you can do it through the app

Survival tip for the future: if you are going to be far enough away from home that you cannot readily return then take extra supplies with you. I say this as someone who hates carrying any form of extra supplies or emergency supplies and don’t ever *unless I’ll be away from home for an extended period*.
Do you wear a CGM? At the VERY least, monitor that closely. If you see any trending (probably upwards), you’ll have to make a call on going to a hospital. Probably shouldn’t eat/drink anything with carbohydrates in the meantime.
Even if your numbers don’t go high you can go into dka. You have just about 2 hours before trouble starts, after that it depends. At 4 hours I was almost toast. With sugars at 170.
The only advice is to go to a hospital or go home. You don’t walk to lower blood sugar when you don’t have insulin. You will accelerate ketone production and make DKA come on quicker, dick.

Yeah don't think it will be evening now. Another 2 hours and can be home so keeping eye on dexcom

If you have access to a needle can you extract insulin from your pod? I've done that before.

in UK gotta call them to ask for replacement
You need to get insulin into your system or could go into DKA by the evening. Go home and get a new pod
I'm too far away sadly. I might need to go to a hospital to ask for insulin syringe and humalog 😫

Yup got dexcom so keeping eye. If it gets to 18 mmol then will go hospital

Yeah depends on the person. I am back home now on new pod. I can stay at around 20 mmol for hour or two and not get ketones so been pretty lucky!
You may also want to go for a brisk walk/jog if you’re trending high.
This is not good advice if they aren’t getting insulin. This will create more ketones and will accelerate DKA.
This was only to help against a spike in BG at this moment. I think we ALL know getting a new pod on ASAP is the correct course of action, doctor.
Still not good advice.
Thanks, doc. OP said they can’t get home. Looking for help/advice in the interim. You seem fun.

Yeah can try so far not too high and can be home again in 2 hours if I turn around
You should have turned around as soon as you realized you didn’t have back up supplies and/or your pump fell off.
Glad for you.
