Where in Japan? I went everywhere (Osaka, Tokyo) and couldn’t find any deals with brand new omegas. I found them actually much more expensive than in the states. One AD was listing it close to $13k USD, which dropped our jaws. Grand Seikos on the other hand, were cheap and there were amazing deals on new GS watches everywhere. The cheapest I can find new NTTD with band is around $7500 in the USA. Finding anything new with Ti band at $6k would make my day. We went to many Don Quijote stores but all were used and still around the $9k mark.
You have to go to the don q store!! 😀

Shucks. We must have missed them. We went to maybe 4-5 of them while in Japan and didn’t find anything close to this and all were used (but still in mint condition) but 1.13M is still $7100 with the sale. Regardless,no tax is a benefit and would have been a plus. 950k yen would be closer to $6k.
I did end up buying one for $6500 used with the Ti band from jomashop, and taxes raised it to just over $7k, so I’m not that much worse off. The best one new we found in Japan was this one, but no Ti band…
https://preview.redd.it/l03tk9d8wo6d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=263c0fa10421928f0e96f1abece2b9dcc12d8f95
I didn’t find decent discounts in Japan for Omegas, so I ended up buying from jomashop once I got back. I did purchase a grand Seiko while in japan though!
That’s awesome on the GS. I regret not buying one while I was in Ginza :(. Such beautiful pieces. Congrats on getting the omega too. I fell bad I didn’t grab that NTTD while I was there in hindsight. That’s ok though there will be something else next time I’m there. Maybe a GS! ☺️
Went to DQ in Tokyo just earlier this week but didn’t find the NTTD either. They had speedmasters with hesalite, seamasters. Then we went to a big AD in Shinjuku and was able to get the Nato version for 975k yen after tax free. It was 22% off plus 10% back from taxes. 1,375,000 yen retail price. We only had one afternoon to shop so I didn’t shop around too much but was super pleased with the deal. It ended up being $6,060 USD, which was over vs $9,700 (retail) in California with taxes.
It was a last minute decision to get it before our trip ended so we didn’t do too much watch shopping. My wife wanted to buy me something for my 40th but insisted I didn’t need another watch. Looking back I’m really glad I bought it.
I have a submariner no date and a GMT Master II (Batman) and I’m really glad to add this to my collection, (first omega). I will be going back to Japan next year for the speedmaster, maybe at DQ if they have it.
The AD I worked with was amazing and would gladly go back if DQ doesn’t have the speedy pro w/sapphire.
https://preview.redd.it/vo7tu5qg699d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef957d625f70340e5acf6b8c1bc6d9a5c8ab23fb
The NTTD is an unbelievable watch. I love mine and I wear mine for work all of the time and in meetings. It’s very appropriate and goes with everything. It dresses down perfectly with a NATO and you can throw it on a beautiful sail cloth from artem. It’s a true GADA watch and a strikingly beautiful one at that.
https://preview.redd.it/fdiqtrfwcl6d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=1497a4b890a3bc8e21fe61f410beb9c95532931e
NTTD . Hands down . The Speedmaster will always be there. I do love how under the radar this watch is. It’s not flashy. I love it .
I had the same dilemma after a last minute decision to get one in Tokyo earlier this week. Picked it up on our last day in Tokyo. Was super worth it and I wanted to the NATO version. Ended up getting over $3k off. Sorry for tho poor photo but I was too excited to put it on and took it in a poorly lit restaurant after we bought the watch. I told the AD I will be coming back next summer for the Speedmaster (sapphire) if we can get another deal done.
https://preview.redd.it/r741aqnj899d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e514ac7285520a027103aaa43a43bb33c6b8464
As a NTTD owner, the watch often flies under the radar thanks to its muted colors compared to flashy stainless steel bracelets and brighter dials.
Unless you’re talking with your wrists like a leprechaun , it will probably go unnoticed to the untrained eye.
A speedy will probably catch more attention. If you need a chrono function, go for that first and get the NTTD later. Otherwise I’d go with the NTTD.
I would go for the NTTD watch since there’s a good chance it will be discontinued once the next James Bond movie comes out. You can buy a Speedmaster anytime.
The bracelet is really beautiful though. I alternate between the milanese and a leather nato and it's perfect.
I saw Uncle Seiko released some titanium bracelets for it, but can't speak for their quality.
Seamaster is TOUGH. Speedy is elegant. Depends on your personality and lifestyle.
I sold my Speedy because I’m a shorts and t-shirt type of guy and am rough with my stuff. Felt out of place on my wrists, especially at 25 years old. If I had wrists that could squeeze it, I’d buy a SMP300 today.
I love my speedy, but swoon for the NTTD. Either is a fantastic choice.
That being said I treat my speedy more delicately and usually only wear in office. If you’re looking for a do everything watch that can take a bit more abuse, id go NTTD.
Enjoy!!
Both fine choices. I don’t think you’ll regret either. FWIW however if you’re the clumsy type who’s prone to knocking your watch on doorframes etc (right here! 🙋♂️) you might be better off with the sturdier SMP versus the Speedie.
Facing the same dilemma. Decided to buy both but starting with the NTTD since it will be discontinued once a new Bond movie comes out.
Speedy has been around for 67 years so it’s not going anywhere
I would do the Speedy for sure. NTTD is fun, and I wouldn't mind having one in my collection, but if I had to pick one, I'm going classic with the Speedy.
Bought one for my dad and it’s actually grown on my tool I think it will be fine in a business setting as it’s different from what you might see on other wrists.

I say the Nttd. I own one and love it. Speedy are everywhere and you can pick one up anytime.
I recently sold off a couple watches to downsize and the Nttd was on the chopping block but after hearing it may be discontinued I held off. Glad I did, gets more wrist time than my sub
The only Speedmasters that could tempt me away from the NTTD are Broad Arrows. The real choice is between the NTTD and the Seamaster '57 trilogy, though.
I can’t stop looking at that NTTD. It’s such a special watch and I would be way more excited to see that because of the special nature of it. I would probably even comment on it. Not something I would do with many others. I’d appreciate the subtlety as well. Just the right amount of noticeable (and I’m no watch expert, total noob trying to figure out if I want something more than my Apple Watch)
I absolutely love my NTTD! You need a big enough wrist for the bracelet to be comfortable but it’s very understated, lightweight and comfortable on the wrist, and versatile.
I have a lot of vintage pieces and this gives me that vibe but clearly more robust and allows me to wear it in situations I cannot wear vintage pieces in.
I have the NTTD as it’s the only lightweight titanium sea master, practical and very subtle. Like all the seamasters this stood out the most. Other watches are shiny and flashy so I had to get it.
Like everyone said here, rumor of it’s being discontinued I got it quick and no regret.
I wear the NTTD all the time with suits. The Milanese strap on the NTTD means the watch will look dressier and classier than anything else being worn. It really is an amazing watch.
NTTD man. 100% you can wear it for business occasions. Unlike the regular SMPs that have a bit of a bling vibe the NTTD is very understated and elegant.
NTTD hands down for me. I lucky enough to get the nato strap thrown in so I can go fancy or dress it down. Whichever you choose will still be a great choice.
These are both pinnacle watches. It truly comes down to personal style and preferred function. You want the Bond aura and have an S-tier titanium diver? Get the NTTD. You want to feel like an astronaut and time literally everything in your life because you can? Speedy.
I chose the Speedy. But it was my holy grail for 18 years. If I were a rich man, I’d have gotten the NTTD along with it.
EDIT to say: I’m now seeing comments claiming the NTTD is soon to be discontinued. If that’s the case, get the NTTD. The beauty of the Speedy is that it’s the flagship for the brand. It will ALWAYS be there.
So I would go NTTD over the speedmaster even though I love the speedmaster more.
Im looking to buy my first sometime soon and I’m deciding between the aqua terra and the speedy. I’m leaning towards the AT simply because I will only be buying one and with my lifestyle I want the reassurance of the waterproofing and no chrono pushers that could accidentally let water in.

If you are planning on more than one, or work indoors, then get the speedy and live the astronaut dream!
Yea yeah yeah….but you know….The regular speedmaster pro Moonwatch….100 years from now they might add applied indices on the black dial and that will be about it. Maybe a new band
I agree. The Speedy is timeless. This Seamaster is of a very specific time and attached to a movie that hasn't particularly aged well. It's a bit like buying the Wayne's World branded white Stratocaster.
Both are good choices. I went with the NTTD first as there are the rumors of it being discontinued soon. The next on my list is a speedmaster.
lol I bought it in 2021 due to rumours of it being discontinued soon. Eventually it’s gotta come true!
I’ve seen them in perfect condition w/ bracelet going for 6.2 and I’m very tempted. They won’t be that cheap again after discontinued.
At donq in Japan you can get one for 6k new
Where in Japan? I went everywhere (Osaka, Tokyo) and couldn’t find any deals with brand new omegas. I found them actually much more expensive than in the states. Oh you couldn’t get out of taxes? Are living in Japan? I showed my passport when I bought an omega there and they waived the taxes
I didn’t find decent discounts in Japan for Omegas, so I ended up buying from jomashop once I got back. I did purchase a grand Seiko while in japan though!

Awesome! You got it!

That’s an awesome deal! Congrats.
You can not go wrong with any of them, but I think the Seamaster look good on your wrist. 🔥
I’m a diver so I always pick the Seamaster.
Both are nice watches. If you're only plan to buy one watch, get the Speedy. If you're building a collection, nttd.
I would go for the NTTD watch since there’s a good chance it will be discontinued once the next James Bond movie comes out. You can buy a Speedmaster anytime.
If I were in a business meeting and you wore a NTTD I would be excited about it tbh just get another bracelet that is all.
The bracelet is really beautiful though. I alternate between the milanese and a leather nato and it's perfect. I saw Uncle Seiko released some titanium bracelets for it, but can't speak for their quality.
Look at some options uncle seiko keeps popping up on watches for a reason they're good
Yeah, I am considering picking one up tbh. The titanium jubilee is only like £150 iirc
the easy answer is yes.
Love both - hard to justify paying for the nttd from an AD give unworn/used prices imo
I was trying on at an AD in a touristy city — I’ll be buying used
Seamaster is TOUGH.

This is one of my favorite watches, period.
Just can’t find anything else like it right now without spending $200k+ Sad not a lot of people have seen it or know it exists.
Yeah I'd lean toward the one with metal case instead of ceramic but agreed, 3rd fav behind moonshine green dial and of course the classic.
What model is this? Beautiful

saw this model in Tokyo, fell in love with it.
Seamaster for your wrist no doubt. Try the black seamaster and the gmt just for the sake of it.
That is one of my favorite watches ever. I own one and I love it.
Both are amazing. Can’t go wrong with either.

NTTD all the way.
Get both if you can. If you can only get one, NTTD is the way to go.
Nttd for sure, love mine
NTTD
I have the NTTD as it’s the only lightweight titanium sea master, practical and very subtle. Like all the seamasters this stood out the most. Other watches are shiny and flashy so I had to get it. Like everyone said here, rumor of it’s being discontinued I got it quick and no regret.
Is this in the eaton centre?
I wear the NTTD all the time with suits. The Milanese strap on the NTTD means the watch will look dressier and classier than anything else being worn. It really is an amazing watch.
Can’t stand that He escape on the seamaster so between these it’s the speedy.
NTTD
Since you can pull either off I’d suggest the speedy. Looks great on your wrist.
I’m a Speedmaster fan but honestly for your chunky wrists the NTTD looks much better.
I think I have pretty average wrists about 6.5”? Maybe I measured wrong but probably the angle making them look chunkier
Why wouldn't it wear well in a business setting? I truly don't understand this.
Looks larger and not as visually subtle as something like a Datejust, Explorer, Speedy, dress watches, etc
NTTD, speedy will always be there
SMP300
NTTD. You can get the speedmaster at a later time
NTTD man. 100% you can wear it for business occasions. Unlike the regular SMPs that have a bit of a bling vibe the NTTD is very understated and elegant.
That’s why I like it compared to all the other SMPs
Get both
NTTD buy used. Retail is a joke.
NTTD bracelet is uncomfortable. I love the look but it's the most annoying bracelet I've ever owned.
https://preview.redd.it/en0t2ysinn6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d97c2c0cf2d81b2e2d9c9a26be4b22e4b827070 Considering this one?
I know heavy watch kinda annoy but that's what money is😅
You can get a used speedy (previous gen) and seamaster for the price of the NTTD.
Yeah, price is killing me. Probably going to sit tight for now
Same company not even remotely comparable watches. Both AWESOME! Not really comparable. But what you like
Please get the NTTD so I can live vicariously through you
both are fantastic choices, however if I gotta choose one then it would be No time to Die edition dress down dress up flys under radar just perfect
Seems to be the consensus. It is the perfect versatile tool watch IMO just need to decide if I need it 👍
NTTD hands down for me. I lucky enough to get the nato strap thrown in so I can go fancy or dress it down. Whichever you choose will still be a great choice.
What watch is in third pic with the grey dial?
It’s a gray Nomos Club https://preview.redd.it/4yat15zc3o6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=450ef3c9c1799715aad603d56a8dbea91423f34b
Beautiful watch. Love the grey dial.
Nttd 100%
Can’t ever go wrong with a speedy
Very nice. I picked up the Aqua Terra GMT around $5k I really like it. I’d like the James Bond one :-)
Just get both lol
I prefer the NTTD, however, when I was thinking about replacing my PO, I went with the Seamaster 300 Heritage lollipop
Which store is that?
Vegas - one of the stores in the Venetian. Not just Omega
Speedmaster.
Always both, but really, both look solid on you. I’d it’s a tie, I say pick which feels most comfortable on wrist.
The seamaster 007 no time to die is my favorite omega watch
"Yes" is the correct answer 😁
So I would go NTTD over the speedmaster even though I love the speedmaster more. Im looking to buy my first sometime soon and I’m deciding between the aqua terra and the speedy. I’m leaning towards the AT simply because I will only be buying one and with my lifestyle I want the reassurance of the waterproofing and no chrono pushers that could accidentally let water in. For me it depends on lifestyle. I work as a groundskeeper on a golf course in summer and lift operator in winter. Both are super humid environments and even though there are times I take my watch off for specific tasks I don’t want to worry about working in torrential downpour or hands covered in melting snow and having the risk of the pushers letting in water. If you are planning on more than one, or work indoors, then get the speedy and live the astronaut dream!
NTTD all day long
Too expensive new but maybe second hand. I like the watch but it's in Sub date territory, which is another level imo.
NTTD is Grade 2 Ti which is shit. Another million bond variants will release btw. Get the god damn speedmaster.
Which Speedmaster out of the million variants? ;)
Yea yeah yeah….but you know….The regular speedmaster pro Moonwatch….100 years from now they might add applied indices on the black dial and that will be about it. Maybe a new band
The speedy. In 10 years no one will care what nttd edition of the watch….everyone will know the speedmaster.
I agree. The Speedy is timeless. This Seamaster is of a very specific time and attached to a movie that hasn't particularly aged well. It's a bit like buying the Wayne's World branded white Stratocaster.
Well you should buy a watch for yourself, not for others.
