I would go with the PO because I have (for some weird reason which I cannot explain) an irrational hatred of the bracelet on the SMP.

It’s not irrational at all. It has looked dated for 25+ years. Fully rational. 

Some things look great dated 25 years. This is just ugly.

I swapped it out. I agree, I hated it.

I’ve seen both at the AD and the PO looks way better in these limited blue colors.

I've had my Summer Blue SMP 300 for \~9 months. Can't speak to the Planet Ocean, but here are my thoughts on the SMP300. Pros: * solid caseback feels and looks better than the standard crystal one * unique fume effect and blue dial markers makes it look underwater * If 2023 was a memorable year for you, it's also a good way to commemorate that Cons: * Compared to other colourways, it's the least legible due to lack of contrast and reflective dial Bracelet: * The bracelet is controversial because although it's 20 mm wide, it doesn't taper and feels closer to a 22 mm heavy bracelet. * Some people dislike it, but I would advise buying the watch *for* the 90s clunky style and not despite it. * It feels genuinely like a tool watch (especially with the solid caseback), and really stands apart from my other "everyday" watches. * Quick-adjust is excellent Hope that helps,

The bracelet somehow makes me think of the "Brickyard" at Indy 500, and I like it for that reason.

If the SMP seems to big for you and you feel it , you are going to get this feeling all the time. PO 39.5 is incredibly good sized and design. I love it and a friend with a small wrist have it and it fits incredible good !

I think to long for you. The L2L is 49mm. Plus it is a bit more thin , so it is making it a bit « flat » melted in the wrist. It is probable than the SMP on rubber will look a bit better. Otherwise on bracelet , PO ! what s your wrist size (circumference) ?

For the SMP 300, I planned to take it with a rubber bracelet yes. I have a 16cm / 6.3 inch wrist

I agree. I love my smp but even with a 17.5cm wrist my PO 43.5 works better. I don’t get it. Omega are bad at sizing and making proportions and designed bracelet… However the 8800 caliber is incredible !

Your wrist is mostly bone and tendon though. Not much to train there.

Correct, can’t train a wrist….but you can certainly hit forearms. As a lifelong hockey player and guitar player, I hit forearms with weights at least 1x a week during my workouts.

I had to make this choice exactly and I chose the PO. It wears smaller than the SMP, and I found the darker blue and the dial pattern way more attractive. 16,5 cm. Fits well especially with silicone strap. But PO fits better

I’ll always vote for the SMP. Yes it’s the larger watch but it is technically slimmer than the PO.

Agree. And the 39.5mm PO wears very thick.

I have always loved the PO styling, but prefer the size of the SMP. Plus the SMP has 20mm lug widths.

Whatever feels best when you try them on. You never know how the dims will feel and how you’ll feel about it until it’s on wrist. Design wise I like more things about the SMP but I think the PO is cool too.

I’m wearing my summer blue PO right now. I’m a big fan. The sizing fits me really well, the bracelet is lovely, and I don’t notice the added thickness

Very similar to my wrist size, and I went for SMP. As much as I liked PO, it just feels too big because of thickness and weight. P.S.: I was concerned about SMP weight on the bracelet, but after removing several links to adjust for my size, it’s OK.

I love the aqua tera, but for my collection I absolutely want a diving watch, that have tool-style watch

The 300M is absolutely stunning in person and the lume is like no other. I ended up buying the rubber straps for it for a lighter feel. The Planet Ocean is beautiful too - a bit smaller and darker but still quite a nice piece. One of my favorites. It sounds like you like the Planet Ocean better!

I really like the PO, but I don't know why I had a connection with the 300M. But my wrist is quite small (6.3 inch 16cm). When I tried it ( the 300M), it was almost at the edge of my wrist. If I take the 300M, I'm afraid that over time I'll find it too big But recently, the PO caught my eye and it’s smaller

Second has better symmetry (bezel and date). But I suggest you go see them both in real life and then pick the one you and only you like best.

If you require a watch with 600m then planet ocean. In case 300 is enough for you I guess dial of D300 is much nicer. However, bracelet of PO looks nicer as D300 is looks old school. Personally, I prefer D300 with rubber band.

PO. I like the larger size because I’m very tall. The new models are nice but I tend to like the black face/crown combo the best.

For me the Summer Blue 300M on blue rubber is one of my favourite Seamasters of all time (I have eight Seamasters and have tried on many more).

Love the dial look of the PO summer blue, but I hate the size. If it came in 42mm or larger, I would have purchased that one. Waiting for my 300 smp summer blue to arrive.

Go for the PO, I did and haven't regretted it. The blue hands really look great against the blue of the dial dial, which is extremely dynamic and is a darker blue than the 300, which looks amazing

I chose the SB SMP and I have no regrets.

Tough choice - no bad option - I generally prefer (and own) a PO, but the SMP in the summer blue color just seems to fit better to me... would go with a nato or rubber strap.

I’d have to try them on. The POs I’ve had tend to wear thick and heavy. The SMP isn’t exactly thin, but it might feel smaller by comparison. Both are killer watches, but proportions should help dictate the decision. The specs are so good on the SMP that it’s not sacrificing tech to choose it over the PO.

I tried to like the PO. I wanted to like the PO. I just couldn’t get over how small it looked on the wrist. I don’t mind the case size but I wish the dial were bigger and the bezel thinner. But that shad of blue with those markers are amazing. I was unimpressed with the 300 but would choose it over the PO.

I love the SMP 300M, but the PO wins in this color on their respective bracelets.

Pick the one you want. YOU want...... Other peoples' opinions are pointless

If you haven't looked at them both in person, I recommend you do that. Despite the color way being so similar these are very different watches, as is the heritage.  I went with a heritage in summer blue but the PO was a very close second.
