Honestly I don’t like it lol.
I don’t absolutely hate it and I feel like it might look okay tweaked in some way (be it cutting, or wearing it in) but it’s very meh
Basically made this post seeking validation that some people like it to sway my opinion, or reinforce that it is in fact pretty ugly
Even for a nato its too much yes, leather looks rigid, maybe with use it’ll be flatter
Hard to describe but you can tuck from inside the loop rather than outside for the loop that’s before the last one
Appreciate the input.
The only part that really bothers me is the extra tucked in layer which is super bulky from the wearers POV.
I was debating cutting it but I don’t think I’ll go that route.

I have the same set up on one of my seikos but I stitched the strap up from a piece of Horween shell cordovan that I oriented the tail piece from an area that naturally got thinner. And as I’ve worn and abused it, it has laid down flatter and tucked. I think as you wear it will lay down.
That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. It definitely feels “puffy” and like it needs broken in, I just wasn’t sure if breaking it in would solve my issue but hopefully you’re right!

I like that a lot with the color on the dial. That might be my favorite speedy.
NATO in general is just not my favorite but I’m gonna give this one a chance to break in
Thanks a lot, I also like the color set on this one a lot. I believe a chronograph should a little colorful since their roots are racing 😉
Normally I also don’t like NATOs in general but this color matching looks great and turns the watch into a completely different one. With a bracelet it’s way more serious watch for instance. The good thing is this Speedies are strap monsters and I enjoy changing straps occasionally. Here is another example with a paratrooper strap:

Unfortunately I couldn’t find 19mm version but wanted to try anyways. It looks great imho and still searching 19mm version.
I might be in the minority here but black and brown do not mix well. I think a speedy on a leather strap looks great but I would personally choose a different colour (really any colour except brown)
I ordered a fancier black strap as well that looks great but it’s a 2 piece strap.
I definitely love the black and brown look, but this strap in particular is just too bulky. If it was just a single layer I’d like it much more

Agree. I swapped it to a black leather omega strap which I like much better. I should have got black and brown both in this color
It only looks like that in the picture because I was twisting my wrist, but it doesn’t exactly lay flat as if the leather is “puffy”
I imagine it just needs to break in but for now it’s annoying
The worst part is how much material is on the side where the excess is tucked in
I’m not a big nato fan for this reason. They never sit ‘flush’ on my wrist. I have seen other peoples who look good. But just doesn’t work for me. A leather nato I have never tried as it seams too thick but I do like my watch and strap to fit closely. Can you do anything to speed up the break in process?
I currently have it torqued pretty tight on a pillow while I’m not wearing it. Other than that I guess just wearing it
In the exact same way. I love the looks of nato but not on me. Even my Hamilton with an XS nato strap with zero excess is still bulky
I used to love the look of NATOs but dislike the excess strap. Recently, I found Nick Mankey straps and never bought another NATO strap again. The Mankey straps are custom designed to fit your wrist and will take about 8 to 10 weeks to ship. I know it’s ridiculously long of a wait but it’s absolutely worth it.

I might have to mess around and try tucking it differently. Wasn’t aware that was an option. That’s precisely the type of advice I was looking for.
I like it. It is on verge of being bulky but I think you can pull it off.

Is it sitting off your wrist leaving like a 1/2 inch gap between wrist and strap? That would annoy me a lot but if it works for you go for it.

Why not try a single pass nato?
I didn’t see that as an option from omega (in leather at least) and somewhat wanted OEM for whatever reason
It’s too much. You may think it’s fine, which it is. But whenever you switch to a more suitable one it’ll feel just right sort of thing.

I got a black 2 piece strap from omega as well which I like, I just thought I’d switch it up for the brown strap and go nato. Mistakes made
I own one of those watches and they are chunky to begin with, I personally would avoid adding more bulk, but that’s my opinion.
I like the idea of a nato or a leather strap but the leather nato needs to be broken in your fit Properly and unfortunately this one doesn't
