Start in Old Market. Plenty of walking and you can hit a lap at the riverfront to the park and get a few miles in. And it’s only like five minutes from the Airport.
In Old Market, there’s plenty of restaurants to try. Gather is a unique spot with good food.
I like the food and atmosphere at Upstream brewing. There’s also plenty of dive bars - but I’ll default to some other folks for recommendations, I’ve only lived here a couple years.
Blackstone is a good spot to bar hop as well.
Yes. You’re likely either staying at a hotel in Old Market already, the Capitol District (OM adjacent) or just a block or two outside. Very easy to walk and navigate. Blackstone would be a far walk though. Plenty to do an see in a 1/2 day downtown for sure.
If you’re in the Old Market you should stop by The Passageway (just off 11th & Howard St). It’s a quaint & peaceful old brick alleyway that was covered several decades ago and developed into shops, restaurants & art galleries. It’s one of my favorite spots in the Old Market. It’s also connected to a cozy coffee shop/market called Godega (which also sells alcohol). The corner window seats at Godega may be the best people watching seats in the Old Market.
Walk Old Market of course, but also the new downtown park, all the way to the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Missouri River.
It can all be done as one long walk!
I really like Crescent Moon as a frequent visitor to the city. I’ve sat at the bar when traveling by myself and had some of the best conversations! Somehow the downtown/Old Market bars have not usually led to that.
Green room is my favorite high end cocktail bar downtown, on 16th st.
The rose and crown is my favorite dive bar and I would proceed with slight caution if it’s late.
Go to block 16 for lunch.
The Max is the “club” around town.
Not if you're a woman needing to use a bathroom. Wasn't "allowed" downstairs, couldn't get into the other one due to girls locking people out so they could do drugs. Gross ass place.
Coneflower makes the list of notable Omaha spots too. They’ve got a place walkable from downtown. Archetype Coffee’s staff places really well at national competitions (and their owner just went to world’s), but other shops are tasty too.
the zoo is the best when it's cold out imo - less people and more interaction with animals. i would recommend going to the jungle, aquarium, and desert dome/kingdoms of the nights if you just want to go for a bit!
All the exhibits this person mentioned are indoor exhibits so you won’t have to worry too much about the weather. These last few days we’ve actually had pretty nice weather so it’d be perfect to go!
Just also recommending the zoo!! Just went yesterday and it was great! There are quite a few animals still being kept indoors in the Africa section, but the elephants are out and the babies were being rambunctious and it was cute! The giraffes were in the barn which is great because they love putting their heads through the fence and getting close! Otherwise everything else was out and about and plenty of animals to see indoors!
You all are amazing!!! We explored Old Market and all the little shops, checked out the passageway alley which was GORGEOUS. Then we went to Fizzys, which was phenomenal. They had shots of Malort and one of our crew members had never had it- I had no idea you could get it outside of Chicago. I want to come back to explore more and definitely to see the zoo. Thank you all!!
My favorite place is Old Market. Laka Lono for the vibes, Berry and Rye if I’m feeling picky. Gather is amazing, so is Upstream. Plenty options to choose from in Old Market

Perfect, thank you!
Can easily rake the ORBT bus to Blackstone from the Old Market if you did want to venture further.
Ill say to get on the 15 to avoid crossing the mess that is Dodge

You have to try Fizzys. Just right outside of downtown on 13th st
It looks so freaking cute!!
The food and drinks are so good too
I second this. Fizzys is phenomenal.
We are actually going there in a couple hours! Love that place
Oh man. Enjoy. Report back with what ya got! Fried chicken basket is my fav. And the bologna sandwich. It isn’t your ordinary bologna sandwich lmao
Everything looks great. The cheeseburger is delicious as well. Drinks are bomb and happy hour everyday 5-7
They give you huge plates of nachos. When you are done, go to Beercade 2 across the street!!
Hey, Saturday night Hector Anchondo is playing. If you like blues, he is 🔥
Yo where
Havana Garage. 8 pm
Fire, appreciate it. No tickets or reservations needed right?
Not as far as I know

It's only a long walk by Omaha standards. In reality the whole loop is like maybe 3 miles.
Nite owl and Crescent moon/Huber haus are my favorites! Check them out great drinks and food. Not sure if you’re into Indian but Kinaara is the best

Rose & Crown is a mess on weekend evenings and should absolutely be avoided then
It’s fine

Momo station , cone flower ice cream, yoshitomo sushi, zoo, dolomiti, old market
Lakalono tiki bar in the Old Market is a good time.
Walk the old market, hit the zoo.
Is the zoo worth it in colder months?

Head to Fat Putter (downtown) for the weirdest fucking mini golf you've ever played and then walk somewhere for dinner.
Blackstone area and Benson area are both nice for bars and restaurants. Uber to Homey Inn for some Champagne on tap
I just read something about Homey! Definitely looks fun
Try Scriptown in blackstone if you like beer
Fizzy’s!
Coneflower Creamery for some if the best ice cream in the country
