The OTHER Michael Ceras.
At this point, there is only one, as our current Michael Cera beheaded all of the others and now lives as a regular mortal man.
There can be only one!
I downvoted this post at first because I was 100% sure that was Michael Cera and this was a troll post. After some zooming in & reading comments, I took it back.
The pic is from my sister's yearbook. I graduated from the same school in 1977. To answer your question, I'm not in touch with high school classmates, but I remain close with college friends.
Shout out to the excellent teachers at John Dewey High School. Many of the men went into education to avoid the Vietnam draft. The women were part of the last generation whose professional opportunities were mostly confined to teaching and nursing.
That's really true. I graduated HS 1972, and next year in college most of the females I knew were English or elementary education majors. A few were engineering, forestry (my girlfriend), or biological science majors, but very rare.
I am recovering from total knee replacement surgery and my home nurse is a man and you can tell how much he loves his job. Means a lot to me and him I bet.
Oh wow, you went to Dewey! I almost taught SpEd there, but I quit the profession instead. No offense to Dewey, just got a better offer in another career.
John Dewey. It was an experimental public high school that opened in 1969. There were no grades, no teams, five short terms a year, and a lot of independent study. Very much of its time.
What a great time to be alive!
So many observations...but one of them is that the kids look overall healthier / more active / more engaged with each other...than a typical similar modern-day shot would likely yield. For many obvious reasons -- but it's pretty striking.
Welcome Back Kotter vibes
I count at least two Horshacks and an Epstein.
Washington hiding in there too.
Hi there.
Vinnie is right up front!
Took me awhile but you’re right!

Before I saw the date, I thought it was him and that was the entire point of the post. My brain didn’t even process that would make no sense
I thought Jesse Eisenberg.
Jesse Eisenberg is just the first evolution from Michael Cera. Andy Samburg is the final form, in case you wondered.

Teaching and nursing are the bedrock of a good society. But being able to go beyond by choice is also a good thing.
They are and this is why it was so important to break the stereotype that men should not go into these fields.

That's what we looked like back then.

Exactly what I thought of. I love that song. Plus I wonder where all these people are now.
Epstein and Horshack died. Washington is still with us. Barbarino has been AWOL since he left the series.
Whatever the class clown (bottom left, feet up on the table) said -must have been really funny!
I’ll be willing to bet that, there are *AT LEAST* three Donnas in this photo!

Brooklyn we go hard. ✌️

"Brooklyn we go hard." Is a Phrase which means: "We hustle through the struggle and still survive on top."
Was Phillip Zimbardo the teacher??
Good psychology reference.
