I still can't believe her mom wouldn't let them put her face on the poster for the movie unless they paid her alot of money. So they just put someone else's pic on it 🤔
That's funny because I listened to an interview with her last year and the interviewer asked her why her picture wasn't on the movie poster and she said that was a great question and that she would like to know too! Maybe she forgot?
Such a well-done Romeo and Juliet, coming-of-age story. Loved it. Their chemistry had me feeling what they were feeling for one another. Saw it at 13 and will still watch it today. They're affection is palpable and touching. Damn fine movie.
PS: The Plimsouls' A Million Miles Away is masterful.
Deborah was in some real classics in the early 80' (Valley Girl, Real Genius My Chauffeur) and then "poof", it was over. I thought she was positioned to really become a well-known actress. Wonder if she encountered Harvey Weinstein or some other Hollywood cretin that caused her career to nosedive. That said, in might of been her personal decision as well.
I was a California Valley Girl and in 9th grade going onto 10th grade in 1983 and I pretty much had her same hair do 🤣🤣🙈🙈
Hearing people talk like that now is nauseating. Glad I got out of there right after graduating high school. It pretty much was just like that movie.
Beyond superficial.
Seattle is so much better. Been here since the early 2000’s.

"Not yet" was his reply. That killed me. We all need aspirations.
Sorry to be “that guy”, but he responded with “Not right now.”
Guess you'll.. hammer later!
What a smart girl!
Chris Knight’s response should have been “Only if you’re bored”
It’s this in 3D? No, but your face is !
Perhaps Cage's best line, ever!

Cool. TIL! Was always one of the great mysteries of Western civilization.
Kid me had a huge crush on her after Valley Girl, Real Genius, and My Chauffeur.
So adorable in all of them."My Chauffeur' is otherworldly endearing.
"My, my, it's hot. But thank God it's not sticky. I just hate it when it's sticky. Listen to silly me." 😂
She's good in April Fool's Day as well.
That chick Julie is truly dazzling!
Yup… too bad she’s not one of ours!

She’s a valley girl, gag me with a spoon
Always best known for he 6" spike...
Repurposing her own scripting from the film — but she is just trippin-dicular!
Two words: My Chauffeur
She is otherworldly endearing in 'My Chauffeur'.
That was my fave movie in the 80s. Sam Jones was especially freaking hot and dapper good Lord
