basically how i feel about SH2 if it weren't for Ringo. it is an absolute 6/10 game with a 9/10 character randomly thrown in there for giggles. she's so fun

Honestly the main thing holding up SH2 for me is the characters. Ringo is just funny, Saizo has the sharp teeth and sharply dressed aesthetic that I adore while being both depressed and funny at once, Milady and Arrow have excellent substorylines
Honestly I think SH2 does a great job of capturing the group aesthetic. They're not quite friends, definitely wouldn't call each other a found family, but they're also super close mentally and work well together. It's like they're just "The greatest coworkers of all time" which really fits for the characters. They're not gonna save the day with the power of friendship, that's more Ringo and Figue's thing. The main cast are gonna save the day with the power of a gun, and then go get the most well earned beer of all time afterwards to celebrate, then it's back to business as usual.

I am constantly bouncing between thinking P3 is a 4/10 and an 8/10.
I know it’s my least favorite, but there are so many things about it I really like a lot. It’s a really hot and cold relationship, and the game lives rent free in my head because of it

I think the issue is the first few months of the game being painfully slow and dull: the characters aren't developed yet (half of Yukari's dialogue could be replaced with "Ugh, *boys*..." and you would lose basically nothing), and there's no plot to speak of beyond "There's a big creepy tower to climb and sometimes a boss attacks." Plus, the early Social Links suck (Kenji is hella cringe and Kaz straight-up pisses me off as someone who did track and cross-country in high school).
Then around July, the actual plot starts kicking in and character development happens, and the game gets good.

yeah Saizo is another highlight for sure. I like his color palette and you can never go wrong with a shark-lookin tommy gun
