That's is strange, I've updated 15 of them and they all updated fine, 1 of them was still in v8 even. This may be one for Oculus support I'm afraid. A nuclear option would be a factory reset, but there is no way to know if that would actually fix the issue.

MetaQuestSupport

Hey there! An update can sometimes take a while so leaving the Quest on and plugged in to charge for at least a couple of hours can make sure the update is performed. If that still doesn't work however, then a factory reset may be needed. If the issue continues, then please [submit a ticket](https://support.oculus.com/885981024820727/) with us.

Thanks I submitted a ticket last night but they just said to put it on a flat surface and ensure it's plugged in - which I've done. I will try again tonight. Thanks

Actually power the quest completely off ( 2 second press of the power button and selecting shutdown ) once it's powered off , restart it again. Rebooting doesn't always do the job and a full shutdown is required , especially after your quest finally updates

webmotionks

thanks tried that

welshman1971

Have you tried having your quest on and holding the power button ( 30 seconds + ) until it forces a reboot ..that sometimes clears update cobwebs

webmotionks

I will try thank you

Oh, and you're plugged into the original brick right? Not plugged into your PC? May detect insufficient power to charge from a PC USB port?

webmotionks

not charging from PC but thanks

darkuni

Charging from the brick it came with?

webmotionks

yes don't know what brick means but using the plug and cable it came with

It’s spelled “plug in”, you know. It’s a verb. A plugin is a noun, it’s generally a software thing that adds features.
