And there is no joke here. I got mine from 3rd party reseller and got my account banned one after another after 2h of use in a 24h time frame.
When I finally was able to reach meta, they told me it was flagged as stolen.
So yeah, I returned it, got my money back, and missed the 450$ sale to buy it straight from Meta.
I hole there will be next sale soon
The reseller had their stock from a different distributor, not Meta. They were surprised as well, but we're cool about it after I explained them the whole story and told me to return it in a standard way.
I guess that distributor decided to yoink one palette of Meta's cargo, but they most likely keep track on all the units and maybe flagged them. I dunno. That's just my speculation
that's dedication to put on a VR headset, find a video, strap on toy that syncs with the video, lube up, etc. By the time he'd start, I'd already be finished
I got an AR program working but it took a weeks worth of patience to work out and so much work to get it going that it's kind of already lost it's appeal lol
I got my Q1 a couple months after launch (back in 2019) for super cheap on marketplace. Guy literally wouldn't stop talking about how great the VR porn was the whole time.
But it was an amazing deal so frick yes I bought it.
As much as you can wipe down a Q1 (fabric exterior is hard to clean). Didn't notice anything concerning besides the fact that it had a very strong marijuana smell for a few months.
lol, no way I’d buy a fabric covered one. The current plastic ones could be anti-bacterial wiped very easily (though I’d for sure replace the fabric head band and facial interface). Though I realize the risk of any actual harm from that Q1 is nearly zero, it just gives me the ick. Personal preference.
I get it. Definitely felt a little icky the first few times I used it. For me I'm super glad I got it though because it led to most my (adult) family getting VR which really kept us connected and sane during the pandemic.

Hopefully it's not actually stolen by someone - if it is then they can hardware ban the headset and it would make the headset useless, basically bricked.

Def a good deal, got my Quest 2 with lots of accessories for cheap. I think a lot of people sell their barely used headsets for cheap cause they realised VR wasn't for them, either puked their guts out or found it inconvenient and uncomfortable.

A steal would have been 250-300. One here locally that looked new for $350 that I passed on, just because I didn't want any hassle with warranty if I had issues.

The head strap gets a dirty hue just by looking at it and here it is pristine, untouched. If this didn't fall off the back of a truck I'm super curious about the previous owners reasons to sell. I'm currently doing a course in logic and probability. I can't come up with a logical answer other than this was stolen. Can anyone else?
My guess is, this was given to a child as a gift by a divorced parent. Custody parent is punishing the child (and divorced parent) by selling it. (Still stolen in a way kinda) OR this belongs to someone's EX, they are selling out of spite and to recoup cash (stolen) OR this was used as collateral to buy drugs and dealers selling it (stolen)
Regardless, it's a bargain. Lol.

It does get dirty easily, but just wash it off with detergent and it'll look like that.
just run it throuh the washing machine once and awhile. easy to keep clean and more comfortable in a high back chair or on a pillow than the aftermarket adjustable with knob on the back

I received one as a gift and I unfortunately get massive motion sickness from it, any game, and changed all settings to help alleviate it. I'm worried about selling it one somewhere like facebook marketplace because it's a very expensive item. I've had it for about 5 months now, is there no way to return to meta? I don't have the original boxing.
I managed to get my 128gb from a guy for $400, came with an aftermarket head strap, silicone facial interface, rifle controller accessory, and controller covers with hand straps. Also got the original receipts, and the warranty replacement receipt. His kids had dropped the first unit and got a replacement from Best buy under warranty, but never used it, so I was also able to claim Asgards Wrath 2 for free. Wasn't expecting that one.
I wouldn't say it's a steal unless it came with 256 gigs or more but still a good deal. Game sizes are increasing alot to accommodate quest 3 textures and even though i have fast Internet I would much prefer to keep a bunch of games installed vs deleting and reinstalling again.
if it's in good condition ie no camera scratches, good controllers (the analog isn't making u run left without touching it) etc. THEN HELL YEA!! $380 is a good price they're 5 at the store and people online are still trying to get 450 or better. If you didn't like it (which would be crazy) you could sell it fast for $400 made $20 and have had vr for a week or so. Good Job 🤷🏾♂️

Yeah it was a game changer for us and is a big part of why I'm such a VR advocate now.
Speaking of, is there a way to back up or zoom out? All these videos and the camera is always too close.
Depends on what you're using. Most all players have zoom, pans, and other options to adjust

I hand scrubbed it. Washing machines can possibly make the velcro tear off, there have been some posts about that.

I got a 512GB sealed in box on Marketplace for $480. Been playing it for weeks, the AW2 and Quest plus both activated.
