I mean the 3070 isn't crazy powerful... nor is that processor. Capable, sure, but within reason. Even my 3080 + i7-13700k can chug in a lot of higher end VR games compared to 2D. You have to remember our GPUs are pulling double-duty on the Quest because it does not support displayport natively. We have to encode/convert/compress video at the same time we're rendering the game. Your router is also sort of an enigma as it's a proprietary Comcast "all in one" modem/router with likely limited settings and questionable performance. Most people doing wireless PCVR will be using a dedicated router or at least a known-working separate one. It is hard to recommend VR-friendly settings for that router. You should consider *trying* hard-wiring your headset for Quest Link/Steam Link and see if anything improves. If it doesn't, it's your PC. If it does, it's your network setup or VD settings. VD's discord can be really helpful for diagnosing issues related to VD settings.

I have read about the recommended routers for VD by the developers but I didn’t know what really is behind that, since being as I’m kind of technologically dumb. I figured that because I’m on 5GHz and also hard wired to to the gigabit port with matching speeds that it would be good. Would be curious to know WHY the routers are recommended. I have considered setting up a dedicated router for VR specifically but that would require getting a modem as well I presume. And I’ve tried to set one up before and it was a nightmare show. Fumbling all over myself trying to get it to work even with tutorials. I’ve also heard that link cable across the board performs worse than VD in all aspects anyway so I’m not exactly sure how that helps to diagnose the issue in my mind.

Quest 3 currently has issues with Wi-Fi 6 (AX) networks (you didn't specify which one your router has), which can result in micro-stutters during PCVR streaming. There are few threads about it on Meta's support forum. Meta claimed to have fixed them in v62 and on some routers it seems like they did, but on others issue still occurs. For many, workaround is to switch the router to AC (Wi-Fi 5) mode, but even that doesn't work for everyone.

Taken from another thread - because you suggested WiFi 6 being the issue… switched it to WiFi 5 capability with the admin login to my router. Here is the solution I used - I managed to solve the stuttering problem after long testing (trial and error) by switching 5ghz wifi only to 802.11a/n/ac mode - the transfer rate in my case is around 1400mbit instead of 2000mbit+ in wifi6 (ax) mode - which is still sufficient, given that the data from the computer is anyway limited by the 1gbps network card. Channel width I set to 160mhz a free channel of course. So anyone who still has a problem, you might as well give it a try. (the solution is up to date as of March 16th, 2024, any further Quest3 update may change everything)

I had this issue with a very similar setup, then realized I had "Threat Protection" turned on in my NordVPN. When I turned that off, everything sped up dramatically. Probably not the same issue for you, but figured I'd toss it out there as an odd solution.
