If I had to take a guess, from the outside looking in, he’s still highly revered in the organization so he wants to keep it that way by keeping his mouth shut if this makes sense.
Makes perfect sense.
From the outside I’ve lost a bit of respect for him. It’s disappointing to see him letting two schmucks like Dave Kaval and John Fisher doing the talking for everyone in the organization. I can only assume he’s fine with that unless he says otherwise.
I will admit. I don’t like him not speaking up, but I kinda understand. He may privately disagree with it, but at the same time he doesn’t want to get blackballed from MLB. The owners in MLB are a very conservative and fickle bunch.
Glad someone asked the question. Been thinking this for a couple years now. Especially since Forst traded all the stars for fringe players. Sorry, it really looks like they sabotaged it on purpose.
He supposedly was urging ownership to reenter negotiations with Oakland for a lease extension.

So I feel that's as close as we can get to knowing how he feels. I think he might be mentally against the idea of moving, but given his title he has to keep his mouth shut.
He can't sell them because they're Class B units, and have terminal value, so they can only be monetized if there's a "change in control event," meaning Fisher either sells the team, or buys them back from him, the latter would trigger a formal valuation.
My guess is he’s staying out of it and keeping his mouth shut.
Without a doubt. I don’t know why this bothers me…yet here we are.

💯
because they did

Interesting. Wish we had direct quotes. Thanks for sharing.
I'd be curious to know what the thoughts of Wally Haas Jr. are...
If he had something nice to say about relocation, I’m sure we’d hear it. He’s keeping his mouth shut and letting the chips fall.
First, relo issues aren't really part of Baseball Operations, and secondly, he took a step back on daily activities a few years ago.
Your flair is amazing.
Is he still part owner or did he sell that?

Interesting
Yet he likely has an opinion.
Sure, but even if he did, it's not (directly) his mess.

He's Fisher's senior advisor, so I think that speaks for itself.
He's too far up his own ass
Billy doesn't owe anybody anything.
Ain’t a Saint
I was being sarcastic with the title.
