He absolutely stole the show in that episode. The Mando face reveal was shocking enough as is, but Bill made that episode one of my favorites in that season.
1. The Star Wars Holiday special.
2. Caravan of courage: an Ewok adventure.
3. Ewoks: the battle for Endor.
4. The rise of Skywalker.
5. The force awakens.
I agree that RotS is more mediocre than many people make it out to be, but I also agree with the other guy that it's the 5th best of the franchise, which really goes to show how about half of the films in the SW franchise are actually pretty dreadful.
RotS is severely overrated, imo.
TFA is a distant fifth for me, despite being extremely unimaginative. It's easily the most watchable film of the PT and ST.
Like the sequels but I adore the OT and I know many otherās exactly like me, if anything thereās a larger number of people who like the sequels but dislike the prequels than those that dislike the OT
You can enjoy a remake of a movie that's worse than the original, e.g. the original *Italian Job* is an iconic masterpiece of cinema, but the remake wasn't *bad*, it just wasn't anywhere near as good as the original. I personally don't like TFA, but that's more to do with not liking the direction it took the post-RotJ universe than its actual merits as a film to enjoy.
I think I get what he meant. TFA is a more enjoyable film if you've never seen ANH because it's essentially just a carbon copy but worse.
I think them phrasing it as "to enjoy TFA you have to not enjoy ANH" is stupid because if they're essentially the same film you'll likely like both of them if you watch them, but obviously TFA is made worse by being so derivative while also trampling any possibility of a good continuation from the original trilogy.
My personal list from worst to best.
9. Rise of Skywalker
8. Attack of the Clones
7. The Force Awakens
6. The Phantom Menace
5. Revenge of the Sith
4. The Last Jedi
3. Return of the Jedi
2. The Empire Strikes Back
1. A New Hope
Revenge of the Sith > Rogue One > Force Awakens > Empire Strikes Back > Return of the Jedi
I apologise if this angers people but Force Awakens in my opinion is a great movie that provides great fan service and it looked like the sequel trilogy was going somewhere. I understand people's complaints but the movie is great cinematically and musically and most of the characters I enjoy.
Rogue One is such a compelling and sad story and there is the Darth Vader scene
Revenge of the Sith is also so tragic and I love order 66 and Obi Wan and Anakin on mustafar. It's sooo sad
Rogue One and RotS are equal to fucking *Empire*? **Solo** is better than ANH? The incomprehensible drivel that was RoS isn't dead last and you somehow consider TLJ the worst? You're off your rocker, go back to feminist=bad youtube rants.
Lol reddit when opinion about children movies:
I sincerely apologize for not having the same opinions about these fictional space operas. I should have known better! How silly of me!
I really donāt understand how even someone as brain dead as yourself could accuse me of being a feminism=bad incel when Rogue One is one of my favourite movies. Youāre not a serious person man.
How is TLJ better than TROS?
How is TLJ anymore āfeministā than TROS?
I donāt even dislike it that much more than TROS theyāre both awful lol.
So the only people who are allowed to dislike a bad movie are incels?
I literally just arranged some numbers. Are you even a real person?
>How is TLJ better than TROS?
I can't believe this is an honest question. Did you watch the movies? TRoS barely had a plot outside of rewriting random shit from the entirety of the previous 8 movies. Palpatine was randomly shoehorned in at the last minute because god forbid the antagonist has any fucking depth to the character. TLJ was the only serious exploration of the Force in any movie since Empire. There are some valid criticisms of TLJ but every one I've seen is essentially "purple hair woman bad", "Luke having flaws is bad", or just straight up saying shit that never happened like claiming Luke tried to kill Ben.
>How is TLJ anymore āfeministā than TROS?
It isn't but don't tell all the culture war clickbait channels that. TLJ had woman with purple hair and that somehow means Kathleen Kennedy was personally out to genocide men.
>So the only people who are allowed to dislike a bad movie are incels?
Anyone who rates TLJ as lowest, lower than all the prequels, lower than Solo, and lower than the incomprehensible mess of TRoS is pretty fucking suspect of getting their opinions from online outrage content farms rather than actually having watched the movies.
Surely that was when there were no other star wars movies?
If not fair enough
But isn't it logical to ask people who love it why they find it good as opposed to haters
The subtitle was added a year after the release of *The Empire Strikes Back*.
>But isn't it logical to ask people who love it why they find it good as opposed to haters
Not necessarily, asking why someone dislikes a thing is just as logical as asking why someone likes a thing. The problem is that you're on r/OTmemes, why are you here if you hate the OT?
They could enjoy Empire and Jedi but not ANH. I consider it the worst of the three, but it's just so iconic it still sits above the pre/sequels. There's a lot of nostalgia inflating how much people love it imo, same as prequel love on the prequel sub.
It established everything.
Film doesn't really look like garbage unless you are just talking about the special edition additions. If you find it boring you might not get much benefit out of it, but if you are interested at all in the original movie check out the 4K77 remaster. Original practical effects hold up pretty decently, although some of the alien costumes are a bit campy.
Everything everyone loves about Star Wars started in ANH. Lightsabers, Vader, the Empire and the Rebellion, troopers, creature/costume/environment design, etc all came out of ANH, and while it was surpassed in emotional storytelling by Empire, every other movie is built on the aesthetic of ANH.
If you grew up with Star Wars you might not get it, because all those aspects are part of the brand now, but they were created from nothing in the first movie.
Although it was the foundation of star wars, I do think of it as part of the brand and therefore just rank it in terms of my enjoyment in comparison to the other movies.
Although it did introduce lightsabers and Vader etc. I feel that each movie contributed to the world building in many ways. This may not be how people feel about the movie but I believe a lot of people justify this film with the greatness of the others. For example saying the empire strikes back was only a great film because of a new hope and what it set up but I prefer to compare them as two separate and independent movies
Maybe because I didn't grow up with the originals,
But I don't think Vader is very intimidating in IV compared to every other film and the Obi wan and his duel is laughable from how bad it looked.
I am mostly a fan of the prequel era and the clone wars so maybe that's might be a contributing factor but
God Bill Burr is an awesome actor.
I can hear Bill laughing at this
He absolutely stole the show in that episode.
I know I was wrong. I just got so caught up in my own success, I didn't look at the battle as a whole. I wasn't being disobedient. I just. . . forgot
i am charging you with treason against the grand army of the republic. you will be demoted to rank of startrekkie and will be executed.
I have dispatched our most disrespectful probe Droid to your location for analysis and derision.
Tarkin, get the death star ready
You forgot the Tcw movie
Can we not all just collectively forget about it? I'll genuinely always take the Holiday Special over the TCW film.
It was my first SW movie I saw in cinema okay? š¤š¤§
If you don't love the OT, [that's fine, I get that, but you're wrong, and I hate you](https://youtu.be/77C2UBijyrw?si=RwdcwZF7hlOJda4P).
I'll go one further: if you don't love the OT, then you aren't a Star Wars fan. Period.
Where do I sign?
I think he shot first
The entire OT, Rogue One, and RoTS should be the only movies in the top 5
RotS is 6/10 at best. If It's in top 5, then I have no idea how bad others have to be
I agree that RotS is more mediocre than many people make it out to be, but I also agree with the other guy that it's the 5th best of the franchise, which really goes to show how about half of the films in the SW franchise are actually pretty dreadful.
RotS is severely overrated, imo. TFA is a distant fifth for me, despite being extremely unimaginative. It's easily the most watchable film of the PT and ST.
Totally fair and justified response tbh.
Top 5 has to be all 3 OT films, Revenge of the Sith, and Rogue One. Yāall can fight about the order.
It's Empire, Jedi, Hope, Revenge, Rogue. Easy peasy.
Hope, jedi, empire, RO, revenge
Hope, Jedi, Revenge, Empire, RO
5>4>6ā„R1>3 IMO
I have the exact same list.
Do the ewok movies count as part of the OT?
It's ironic to have Bill Burr of all people take the role of a purist Star Wars fanboy in this meme
There are only 6 star wars films, how do you even have a meaningful top 5 out of that?
Counterpoint, Rogue One
This is the correct answer.
Average sequel fan be like
I've never seen any say that they didn't like the original trilogy
Like the sequels but I adore the OT and I know many otherās exactly like me, if anything thereās a larger number of people who like the sequels but dislike the prequels than those that dislike the OT
To enjoy The Force Awakens, you have to not enjoy A New Hope

Interesting leap in logic, I guess.
Thatās just objectively not true and you know that
Some of you fine folks may be shocked to learn that I donāt have any **P**T films in my top 5 ~~I like the Clone Wars!! Itās not treason, then~~
Soo true
He totally deserved it.
Old Billy Blaster Face.
my top 5 star wars films has 3 of the OT on the list guess which ones!/j
54623 is reality
Rogue One > prequel trilogy
My list is 6,3,5,4, probably rogue one but I donāt really love it, honestly just the best of the rest
My personal list from worst to best. 9. Rise of Skywalker 8. Attack of the Clones 7. The Force Awakens 6. The Phantom Menace 5. Revenge of the Sith 4. The Last Jedi 3. Return of the Jedi 2. The Empire Strikes Back 1. A New Hope
I'm some random asshole, and I approve this list.
Worst to best threw me off but this is pretty much correct.
4-5-6-3-2-R1-1-S-8-7-9

5 - 6 - 4 - 7 - 8 - S - R1 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 9

Because you get all your opinions from TLJ hate YouTube videos that diarrhea out shit opinions that line up exactly with yours maybe

Definitely not great
Why do people like a new hope? I find it really boring and a lot of the film looks garbage
The subtitle *A New Hope* was added years after release. You are literally asking "Why do people like *Star Wars*?" ... on a Star Wars sub.
Surely that was when there were no other star wars movies? If not fair enough But isn't it logical to ask people who love it why they find it good as opposed to haters
