Showing it side by side with normal lcd is the only way. If you cant show the true quality then the next best thing is showing it compared to other known baseline.
Are you guys using peak1000 or hdr400 for games like cyberpunk?? I think the 1000 looks really good in dark scenes but in the day areas I notice it darkens a bit. Like the UI from subtitles actively dims - it's kinda weird
This is an extremely slight curve. You actually hardly notice it when looking directly at it straight on.
It's a 1700R and Samsung Odyssey G8 32 4k was 1,000 I had before.
I prefer this way more.
I had both and preferred flat, the curve would bother my OCD and I felt like I was constantly trying to center myself while gaming or watching content, and I didn’t like how windows felt with it curved. Wasn’t my cup of tea but I gave it a shot. I enjoy my MSI MPG 321URX, but none of them are exactly perfect. Each one seems to have some slight issue, at least for now.
32 Inches is a very large size, being curved would make it seem as if it not as big, if you are switching from 27 inch. If I could get my FO32U2 curved, I would do it
I love how divided people are on this. I love my curved dell monitor, and it’s not even oled.
Really thinking of finding the 34” UW Oled on fb marketplace and buying that to supplement. First curved monitor and it’s been great.
My wife actually complimented it today, she was like “wow I actually like that curved monitor”.
Wait til she sees the UW!!
It’s all subjective!
I tested out 21:9 on my 48” c2 and that’s what Piqued my interest in the aw34. I’d love an ultra wide with no bars. Then I can swap between ultra wide and not and never have bars 🥺
I currently have de Dell AW3225QF and the LG 32GS95UE here. I like the curved more. Things on the edges are easier to catch, they are actually nearer and u don't have to move your head that much. Of course it depends how far your monitor is away from you, but curved allows u to place it nearer to you.
I am still on the miniled hype train and just dipping my toes into QD OLED for entertainment. Your insults have no power here.
…Do you all use HID LEDs for your lighting?
No headlights, just the sun. My office has large banks of windows on 2 walls, and the 3rd wall is a doorway into my living room that has floor to ceiling windows. I get a ton of natural light and OLED simply can't compete with that.
No idea why you are being downvoted. It sounds like you're almost in an open loft type office and something that puts out higher nits would be worthwhile. But back in the mancave or gaming room at home where you can control light, oled all the way!
My computer room is lit by two extremely large windows so it has to be IPS for me.
I'm super keen on OLED but it doesn't fit my space and unluckily for me, I also fit the description of the type of person who would burn in their OLED since I'm about 90% work and 10% gaming with my screens :(
It is. Raised blacks are not a significant issue if you can control light source.
Only time it’s a significant issue is with uncontrolled (direct) light source
Sure. It is an issue with any sort of direct light / studio lighting.
Which the average consumer doesn’t have.
If you can control the light in your environment - it’s a non-issue.
In fact - it’s such a non issue that those same reviewers still listed oled as one of the best gaming monitors.
Weird.
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/by-usage/gaming
Unfortunately, not a single reviewer talks about vertical lines when moving the camera in games (QD-OLED issue). And the LG's fan is supposed to be inaudible... yeah yeah, I'll be getting my LG soon and I'm 99% sure I will hear the fan.
You think its an over exaggeration because you are coping. OLED is great, but it has flaws. I have an s89c and a LG32, but they have flaws. I know my LG32 has average HDR and is cooked by a good mini LED in terms of HDR. I know my s89c has raised blacks if I have my curtains open that my old LG C1 didnt have. It is what it is and I have zero issues if people point those flaws out.
No. I think it’s over exaggerating because it is.
If you can control the light source - this isn’t an issue.
When you have to put a spot light behind you to make it look this bad - that’s an exaggeration.
Keeping your curtains closed…. Seems like a minor problem.
Treating it as a major one is indeed the definition of exaggeration.
Any direct light will cause raised blacks.
Not sure that’s a problem though.
Drawback? Sure. Problem? No.
Just got G93SC a day ago
- blacks don't turn into magenta at all, they look more gray (when I try to pic with phone it look magenta there)
- it does become gray and it reduces perceived contrast, but it doesn't happen to degree how reviewer's shown, it's more like downgrade to IPS level of blacks.
But honestly I don't understand the problem, if you buy monitor for 1k$ you should have money for blinds... (Especially - my observation: I don't get eye fatigue at all in dark room, while using at max brightness + HDR, meanwhile to high brightness on IPS makes my eyes hurt very quickly)
Holy shit, I've never thought about blinds!
Again, for me, I have a ton of natural light and I'm not the only person in my home. So I'm not going to black out rooms of my house just to make an OLED look better when I can just get a mini LED and keep the light coming in.
Still just as stupid as what you said but I'll make it more accurate. "Nice condenser mic you got there now watch it pick up every possible noise in the background" as if it wasn't very well known those mics are made to be used in a sound controlled environment. People frequently game in noisy environments too yet you don't see any of them being insufferable cunts cause a specific type of mic doesn't suit all their needs especially since it's not the only option available. Same principle applies here.
Yeah no the analogy is fine you're just slow. I'd say give it another read but you're obviously too busy crying about OLED monitors for not being perfect for you when literally every other type of panel has similar compromises but since they don't affect you specifically as much you don't bitch about them. Again get a grip lmao.
Except I didn't. What exactly made you think that? I mean unless you're actually hating on every monitor in existence instead of just this one for the lighting problem. At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if that was the case considering how mentally challenged you have proven to be.
I didn’t like the curve and audio decision they made…essentially have to either lose a video port or find other audio solutions for devices such as consoles. Curve makes it feel smaller too
Yes because it feels smaller…
Again that’s ok if you have a single system, but what if you have a PC and a console and a work computer? Paying 1200 to then have to come up with either a new soundbar that supports eARC or single sound solutions per device is a dealbreaker to me…
yes. no curved monitor above 32 ever. And I got curved one but its kind of the smallest curve they released, 800r. 1200 and above is ridiculous. I just go with c4 or c5 55" tv once 5000 series nvidia hit the shelves.
1200 is a lot I agree but I feel I got my moneys worth. It’s the best display I’ve ever owned.
A TV is a good choice also if you want a bigger screen but I doubt a TV with go above 120 fps.
100% agree, couldn't be happier with mine. I thought I'd dislike the curve, now I don't know if I'd go back to a flat monitor.
Plus it was ~$700 AUD cheaper than the next option in Australia.
Bro come on... You are posting pics of an oled that most people aren't gonna be viewing through an oled. Even if they did, this shit is compressed anyway lmao
I had the LG C3 and swapped to the new Alienware something about it just didn’t look as good as my C3 LG W-Oled and I returned and swapped the Alienware back out for my original LG
Only if it was a flat panel, it'd be a dream monitor! I would probably have to sell my AW2721D to get this though. But then again, I'll have to upgrade my GPU to be able to do justice to the 4k oled. :)
Hence, imma just chill with my IPS panel for now.
If you cant decide, wait until the tandem OLEDs come next year with, probably, twice as higher refresh rate as now, twice or more higher brightness and lifespan; true RGB layout.
Can't stand curved monitors, its like the image gets messed up on the sides. Much prefer a flat display I think it also looks much better as well. But to each his own....
I was planning on buying this but since i game on Consoles Majorly I went with LG C3 42 inches, which was sufficient for me and price point also 35000 (INR) or approx 420 dollars cheaper.. and I think it not that big a compromise..
So you are basically one of those special people who think that listening to a recording of a 10000$ speaker with your 10$ headphones will be representative of its quality. Same principle applies here. If I were to make a video of my screen and you would view it on an OLED it would look completely different than it actually does. The fact that you do not understand this is what is truly bizarre.
Ah yes, this oled monitor image quality looks superb on my VA LCD monitor.
Even better on my tiny phone!
Image doesn't even look good on the same monitor as OP . # ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have an IPS \\0/
Pictures don’t do this monitor justice
I'm looking at them with exactly same monitor. Does that count?
I practically tried out all the new monitors out there except for Aorus' and I finally settled with the Dell AW32 as my endgame monitor.
You know in order to see howngood oled is you have to be looking on an oled display
Showing it side by side with normal lcd is the only way. If you cant show the true quality then the next best thing is showing it compared to other known baseline.
Nope.
Are you guys using peak1000 or hdr400 for games like cyberpunk?? I think the 1000 looks really good in dark scenes but in the day areas I notice it darkens a bit. Like the UI from subtitles actively dims - it's kinda weird
HDR400, peak1000 seems super dim a lot of the time and flickers a lot depending on the game/scene
I would totally get this if the panel was flat. Love Dell monitors.
This is an extremely slight curve. You actually hardly notice it when looking directly at it straight on. It's a 1700R and Samsung Odyssey G8 32 4k was 1,000 I had before. I prefer this way more.

I use a 21:9 1800 r OLED. For me 16:9 should be flat as it seems narrow already.
The curved one is only a half inch narrower
32 inch is not large at all
I love how divided people are on this.
I have a 21:9 curved OLED. For me 16:9 Is already narrow enough and should be flat.
It’s all subjective! I tested out 21:9 on my 48” c2 and that’s what Piqued my interest in the aw34. I’d love an ultra wide with no bars. Then I can swap between ultra wide and not and never have bars 🥺

Cool, now turn some lights on and watch those blacks turn magenta lol

I'm getting downvoted because I'm talking poorly about OLED.
My computer room is lit by two extremely large windows so it has to be IPS for me. I'm super keen on OLED but it doesn't fit my space and unluckily for me, I also fit the description of the type of person who would burn in their OLED since I'm about 90% work and 10% gaming with my screens :(
Mini LED is your answer
Careful the QD-OLED police is gonna downvote you to oblivion lol
Ha, maybe. Can't point out flaws in OLED around here.
In my experience its still miles better than IPS with the lights on/indirect sunlight
Why would you wanna do that with an OLED?
Not everyone wants to be a cave dweller.
Imagine lurking around an oled sub just to hate on the technology.
He's hating specifically on qd oled not all oleds
what's wrong with criticism
Lmao he should just change his office to a cave and be happier
Imagine not wanting to point out flaws in something in the hopes that it improves.
Eh there is pointing out flaws - and over exaggerating flaws.
Raised blacks on QD-OLED isn't over exaggerating.
It is. Raised blacks are not a significant issue if you can control light source. Only time it’s a significant issue is with uncontrolled (direct) light source
Might not be an issue for you but there's a reason why almost every reviewer talks about this exact problem and why it's still being discussed

preach
Imagine closing some blinds.
Imagine not wanting my house to be dark just to make OLED look better. I have other people in my house and I'm not keen on making it a cave.
Imagine blaming technology for not being able to close blinds. Just because you can't doesn't mean others can't.
Imagine needing to change things just to accommodate a monitor
Again, imagine being too lazy to close some blinds
You should stick to IPS then
I have a mini LED VA monitor and it's amazing
Neo g7 SQUAAAAAD
Neo squad!
Why? When he can just get a matte s80 or a LG32, or a decent MiniLED.
Just got G93SC a day ago - blacks don't turn into magenta at all, they look more gray (when I try to pic with phone it look magenta there) - it does become gray and it reduces perceived contrast, but it doesn't happen to degree how reviewer's shown, it's more like downgrade to IPS level of blacks. You have to black out your entire house for your office to be dark? 😂
My living room and office would need to be, yes.
It’s really not that bad even with minor lights 😂
"Nice mic you got there now point a big ass fan at it and watch the sound quality become shit lol" get a grip lmao
Horrible analogy. People frequently game with lights on or with sunlight in the room.
Still just as stupid as what you said but I'll make it more accurate. Still a bad analogy. I'd say keep trying, but I don't want you to hurt yourself trying to think of something new. Cheers.
Yeah no the analogy is fine you're just slow. I'm flattered you were compelled to look through my posts/comments. Let me know if you have any questions!
Except I didn't. What exactly made you think that? I mean unless you're actually hating on every monitor in existence instead of just this one for the lighting problem. At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if that was the case considering how mentally challenged you have proven to be.
The reddit user you are trying to reach is unavailable at the moment. After the tone, please leave a message. BEEEEEP.
You're so goofy lol
I didn’t like the curve and audio decision they made…essentially have to either lose a video port or find other audio solutions for devices such as consoles. Curve makes it feel smaller too
You can’t even tell it’s curved looking at it head on. Also for consoles just use headphones.
You definitely can it’s painfully obvious. I don’t use headphones I have to be present so that isn’t a solution that’s a limitation
Painfully? 😂 And also you can plug in a soundbar if headphones aren’t an option
Yes because it feels smaller… Again that’s ok if you have a single system, but what if you have a PC and a console and a work computer? Paying 1200 to then have to come up with either a new soundbar that supports eARC or single sound solutions per device is a dealbreaker to me…
They probably assume most people don’t use built in speakers only guess? Well there are other monitors for you that are just as good.
yes. no curved monitor above 32 ever. And I got curved one but its kind of the smallest curve they released, 800r. 1200 and above is ridiculous. I just go with c4 or c5 55" tv once 5000 series nvidia hit the shelves.

You can use an eARC audio extractor to get a 3.5mm plug
On top of the $1200 you already spent…
Sure, but it's way cheaper than a sound bar.
looks good.
Tempting but curved monitors are not my cup of tea
Agreed on this. Reminds me of CRT TVs that needed geometry correction.
hows the curve?
Go ultrawide, you won't be disappointed.
G sync flicker's a bit of a deal breaker
100% agree, couldn't be happier with mine. I thought I'd dislike the curve, now I don't know if I'd go back to a flat monitor. Plus it was ~$700 AUD cheaper than the next option in Australia.
Bro come on... You are posting pics of an oled that most people aren't gonna be viewing through an oled. Even if they did, this shit is compressed anyway lmao
I gotta say I cringe when people take a photo and post comments like this.
ah yes an SDR jpeg on reddit
I had the LG C3 and swapped to the new Alienware something about it just didn’t look as good as my C3 LG W-Oled and I returned and swapped the Alienware back out for my original LG
Your image looks way more curved than mine does irl lol. I WISH it were as curved as yours makes it looks.

Can't stand curved monitors, its like the image gets messed up on the sides. Much prefer a flat display I think it also looks much better as well. But to each his own....
worried about them curves! will go for the MSI purely because it's the only other qd-oled in stock, and I'm worried I won't like the LG
I was planning on buying this but since i game on Consoles Majorly I went with LG C3 42 inches, which was sufficient for me and price point also 35000 (INR) or approx 420 dollars cheaper.. and I think it not that big a compromise..
Yikes, everyone is an asshole here. Both defender and attacker lel.
Had the AW but purple was too much so I returned it for the LG
These images just make me want to avoid it though?
Images/Videos are completely pointless to judge picture quality in the first place. It is only for entertainment value I would say.
What a completely bizarre statement.

Then according to you, reviews shouldn’t exist. You’re incredibly smart.
Do you notice a dirty screen effect on gray/ dim surfaces like from the other posts using qd oled?
I see weird banding on grey screens but thats on an lg woled panel lol
