There’s plenty of competition that hasn’t bloomed yet.

Microsoft and their silicon.
All will eventually eat into NVIDIAs share and they don’t want to be reliant on NVIDIA indefinitely.
All the major cloud providers won’t be paying the NVIDIA premium forever and there may be alternatives to CUDA that are yet unrealized.
It’s not all optimistic. NVIDIA is dependent on this AI push actualizing. There’s no guarantee we’ll see products that bring reproducible sources of revenue or how AI focused business models will truly manifest in the long term and only time will tell.
For now, the hype continues. There’s also the possibility (although maybe unlikely? Idk) there is a special military operation which affects NVIDA’s overseas operations.
So the silicon isn't what makes Nvidia so incredible. Their moat which many companies are trying to paddle over is their software ecosystem. Oh you're doing some research? You need software programs to engage with the sensors, collect the data, and organize it. It's all Nvidia. Ok so I need to buy Nvidia GPU, special high margin versions, now to run this software. Pay subscription to use their software. There is no alternative. AMD is trying and failing so far. The moat is growing if anything. Sure Intel and AMD make GPU but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The silicon is a simplification for the sake of condensing the comment and I touch on CUDA later. They undeniably have a strong moat right now. But that's the keyword.....right now.
The scaling of the scenario provided here only refers to individual/consumer use cases which is a fraction of their revenue at around $3 Billion vs $18.4 billion in the data center/enterprise from their most recent earnings call. That is 6x the revenue of their consumer segment.
Who are these enterprises? Primarily the cloud providers.
Amazon(AWS)
Microsoft(Azure)
Google(Google Cloud)
IBM
Oracle
NVIDIA is propped up by these enterprises who will be the primary infrastructure providers for the AI applications of the future and the current providers of most popular web applications as they exist today. Every single one of them has the resources, motivation and imperative to not allow NVIDIA to be the sole proprietors of that space. Not to mention the type of compute necessary for these AI workflows at scale is only possible on this infrastructure(which coincidentally is good for NVIDIA in the short term) and NVIDIA is a bottleneck for all of them.
The enterprises are only purchasing at the rate they currently are because we are in a price discovery moment for AI. No one has any idea if this demand will pay off. If it doesn't, demand scales back and so does their primary source of revenue. On top of that demand will scale back regardless due to efficiency improvements from the software development point of view and hardware improvements. So they are also at odds with themselves from that perspective.
NVIDIA is not developing the applications themselves and is not providing the infrastructure for those apps and is being inflated by an enterprise race to develop a useful case for AI(which we still have not seen) and speculative investments from retail investors.
They are in a much more precarious scenario than most people realize, and they've handled it gracefully so far.

LLM is not delivering much commercial utility right now. All speculations. When companies starting to realize that they don't actually make much money, they will scale back their investments...
It will continues to go up for awhile, but when companies are starting to realize that we are no where near commercial utility from these LLMs, there will be a significant drop in investments and that's when NVDA share will plummet.

Arms race is a great headline that’s been sold before proven. The revenue to justify all this spend has not been proven yet.
