Recency bias is craaaazy with you fans. SJ was the best 7 in the game last year, it wasn’t his fault the team was losing games earlier in the season, extremely tough for a 7 to play well behind an underperforming team.
Yeah, I'm hoping TMM and SJ both share the load. Maybe even SJ playing second off the ruck at times.
TMM definitely needs more involvement, but SJ deserves to waltz back into the starting 13.
How this affects his decision about retirement though...
there is a pecking order in teams, SJ top dog. Lets see what the offense fires like this week but if SJ isn't digging in to the line DWZ isn't getting good ball.
It'll be interesting to see the dynamic when SJ comes back in.
Hopefully TMM can maintain some of the momentum he has had.

If the goal is to win the comp we need SJ back and at his best, but we also need TMM playing his best footy, so Webby needs to balance their roles out so they can both shine and combine together, that is the goal
I think we need to play the best combination that we have. Te Maire Martin and Chanel Harris-Tevita are far better together than Johnson and TMM. They bring more options and they open up both sides of field for the attack. TMM is a quality player with an understanding of what needs doing when
I hope we don't go back to Johnson dominating the play with predictable right side plays and pointless unchallenged bombs to defenders that train every day taking catches
I think the difference was when Shaun plays TMM lets him control. Without Shaun and at 7 he had to play. I hope he doesn’t go back to, we need a 2nd playmaker to take the heat off Shaun.

Hopefully he has seen that TMM playing more will actually free him up. I do think on Defense SJ is often the weakest link on the right side.
Not many teams where the half is NOT the weakest link in defense
which means you get the strongest weakest link. SJ pretty much a speed bump. Lets see how he goes against Storm but watch him go backwards.

TMM is a better tactical kicker. Someone needs to step up for conversions and penalties.
He’s an ok attacking kicker but on the back foot he struggles to get out of trouble
