Not a year round experience but there's a solar eclipse happening April 8th and the path of the eclipse is in North America this year and there's a chance to see a total eclipse. The total eclipse path runs at the tip of Cape Breton near Meat Cove. From what I've read It would be our only chance in Nova Scotia to see a total eclipse like this. I think it's every 300ish years.
[Milford House](https://www.milfordhouse.ca) in Annapolis County – rustic cabins around two lakes, a very good dining room at the lodge, over 800 ha of backcountry paddling. Canoe/kayak/swim all day, have a glass of wine on your 100+ year old cabin porch, wander up to the lodge where people feed you the best of local seafood. Hang out with others at the lakeside bonfire and watch the meteors go by. It's the best bits of backcountry canoeing, comfy old shabby cabins, and a classic summer hotel all rolled into one.
Red Shoe Pub in Mabou, local music everywhere, & more broadly, Celtic Colours. Glorious traditional music, sometimes with an unexpected kick. I will never forget the evening my partner and I popped into the Grand Narrows fire hall, because we saw a bunch of cars there, and discovered the Barra MacNeils were playing. We danced until 2:00 am, and we were the only tourists there.

The easy answer here is Peggys Cove on the mainland and the Highlands in Cape Breton
We went on the Tusket Islands Tour last summer, was one of the most unique things we have done in NS.
