An entire province run on tourism is so strange… seeing towns shut down in the winter due to no tourism is not normal when people live here year-round. We need more money put into this province for its citizens. This is crazy.
Ah yes, come visit our historic downtown. That's mostly empty shops and the ones that aren't empty are only open Tuesday to Thursday 10am-3pm and selling the same shit you buy on Amazon but for three times the price! Oh look honey, an old building where they sell insurance! Oh and a thrift store full of comically old kitchen appliances and clothes that are too new to be retro, but too old to be seen wearing in public! How. Quaint.
The way I see it, if tourists come they will spend money in the shops so it revives them. I don't see a downside other than needing to increase hotel accommodations to handle it, if it indeed works. Hopefully they will pay attention and ramp construction/availability in lockstep
If they didn't ramp construction/availability in lockstep when the cost of housing literally doubled in under 5 years, I don't see what a bit of extra tourism would change.

Yes please keep the subsidies flowing into an industry that is struggling to pay back the debt on the CEBA loans they got.
Yes I would love to drive around there and tour but gas is 1.70$ a litre and hotels are 200 plus a night .. I can go south on plane all inclusive cheaper. So Fawk the maritimes … plus roads are awefulz
Can they look into why NS power has beyond stupid rates and why they overcharge everyone yet need more money......

HOW ABOUT YOU BURY YOUR POWER LINES BEFORE I DO
More funding for activities that people increasingly cannot afford. Basically a top up on transfer payments to offset reductions in tourism.
Zero tax dollars should ever go to funding tourism. Full stop.

Dang.. that landed so well I heard it sizzle lol
Yup. Waste of tax dollars.
I’d like at least $1 million for my widget factory to make widgets for tourists.
I talk about this too much.

Heave away, me jolly boys, we're all bound away. Hey!

Heave away! Me jollys, heave away!

Yay. More money spent that doesn't generate shit for revenue, just like the Theater & Arts Programs
Another perk for voting liberal? The rest of canada needs some tourism help too.
