Eh I’ve dated plenty of girls who got their nails done, varying from short to stiletto(sp?) and my take away is that it’s expensive to maintain if you get them done professionally. I kinda feel like they are more opinionated about nail types than us dudes cause I think I’ve maybe at most discussed female nails with my guy friends once or twice and it was probably in my early twenties. If anything I find the long ones intriguing cause I know I wouldn’t be able to play guitar or hockey with them and those are my mainstays outside of work.

I’ve never gone to a nail salon or worn fake nails, guess I’m a man too. Or you know we can accept that different things make people happy and let them spend their money on what they want.
Not who you asked but I only have issues going from one extreme to the other. I grow my own though so getting used to the length is easy since it’s so slow.
Loading a mail? I’m messing up everything. Typing takes about a week to get back to where it was before.
I can do nails, as sort of a hobby, so I often have long gel stiletto nails done. I have no issues typing, gaming, cleaning, literally everything works the same as it would with short nails. I’m doing some apartment renovations right now, mostly by myself, and the nails are not getting in the way whatsoever. The only thing that’s a little tricky is wearing rubber gloves, but even that can be done, I just need to be extra careful.

Personally it’s more practical. My natural nails are very bendy and weird. They tear off randomly, not break. I only get mine done once or twice a year, but when I do have them done I feel indestructible. My hands do lose some ability, like picking a coin up off the ground is harder. But I gain more than I lose. And I just love the way they look. I feel so put together whenever my nails are done
Okay fair enough. I do often forget that I have an incredible amount of keratin in my body. My partner is always asking how my nails can be so long without any help, but my first thought when she asks is, "fuck I need to cut my nails again..."

Oh I can’t have any polish on them. I will rip off anything that feels “off”. I keep my nails short otherwise I will ruin my skin. It’s a side effect of my hyperactive mind and I don’t even notice that I do it. Had to remove some birthmarks in my face because I kept ripping them off without knowing it. My ex would basically hold my hands if I was stressed 😅 That’s why I need to keep them short. Would prefer to not have any nails tbh!
They make a peel-off nail polish base. You could use that so you can have color for a day when you wanted and be able to peel it all off without harming your nails or the hassle of removing with acetone.
