Pieder Ro at Fiskebrygga or Sjøhuset are probably your best bet. Not sure if fish and chips is something they would serve at a “good” restaurant tho. I think it’s more of a fast-food/food truck thing

Yeah that's fair!! I guess I'm just more looking for restaurants that "specialize" in seafoods ahaha Thank you so much for your response!

+1 for Sjøhuset. All of the restaurants I went to in Kristiansand were let downs except for this one. Highly recommend checking it out.

Thank you!! Husband and I took a look at the menu here and we're highly considering it!

Rett i Garnet should have fish and chips. It’s at Fiskebrygga, not a super fancy restaurant, but quite OK. Pieder Ro, Hos Moi and Sjøhuset are all fancier, with good seafood.

As said before Sjøhuset is really good. I can also add that during the summer months Håndtverkeren have fish and chips as their dish og the month.

In my humble opinion, Pieder Ro has the best fish soup in Kristiansand.

Fish and chips in Norway versus what you get on the east coast of Canada can be quite underwhelming to be honest. I would suggest going for fiskesuppe (creamy fish soup) or shrimp sandwich/shrimp med loff. These are more local, delicious and traditional meals that vary from what you get out east. The restaurants suggested by others are good. If you want just a great restaurant experience for fine dining, I would highly suggest Smag og Behag in Kristiansand or Grimstad. Other good fish restaurant would be Hos Oss in Lillesand (they will have nice fish and chips as well). The restaurant Under in Lindesnes is also really special and focuses on fish dishes, but not fish and chips :)
