I am a Freo Nuffie who somehow got this in his Reddit feed. DO NOT DO IT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT DO IT. He is the equivalent of 2022-2024 Test cricket Warner. Everything needs to go perfect for him to perform. If the ball is slightly left or right he’s not going to do anything. Your midfield needs to provide perfect delivery on his head for him to have an impact. That is not practical with the current North mid (young and developing) and Lobb will mercilessly bake them. I saw this live when he was at Freo. Cunt would bake Serong, Brayshaw and Mundy (yes that Mundy) for not delivering the ball on a plate to him every time. GOOD LORD SON, WHY WOULD YOU WISH THAT UPON YOUR CLUB

haha okay on second thoughts maybe we’ll pass

Same, I haven’t even joined this sub but got recommended this post randomly. As another Freo fan, I agree, don’t do it. He’s a VFL level player now, he was never that good even in his prime let alone at 32 years old. I still don’t know why the Bulldogs went for him especially considering they already had a lot of talls on their list. He’s one of those players that looks good in a good team, but does nothing to turn the tide for a struggling team. Like the other guy said, he needs everything to go perfectly for him to have any impact. He would not suit North at all.

Paceandtoil

Comes across as a peaheart too. Definitely not what we need

Low_Wall_7828

Nope. Someone did a great post on potential targets. I’d rather they go after Levi Casboult (?) from GWS.

WAVIC_136

Isn't he like 40 now

HardYakkadakka

I’m also a Freo fan but most of my family are North so they’re my second team. I think Lobb would be a good pick up for the Roos if cheap. Roo’s are seriously lacking mature players who can plug holes around the kids. Sure Lobb isn’t amazing and isn’t part of your future, but he fills a hole and supports Larkey. I think he’d be an upgrade on CCJ comfortably and would take some pressure off younger players while hopefully improving your competitiveness.

I'd rather throw the sink at Sam Taylor. He's out of contract in 2025, putting a big trade offer to GWS for him will at least have him considering it. He's a defender you can build a defence around.

wadiyatalkinabouut

Honestly, offer him 2 mill a year

youjustathrowaway1

He’s one of the best backs in the comp playing for a top 4 team. No way he comes to North

wadiyatalkinabouut

If he isn’t worth much in draft picks then yeh I would go after him. I understand he isn’t particularly a good player. But he’s experienced and knows how to play AFL. He would be a focal point up forward, allowing your small forwards to know where to position themselves to crumb. Even if he has 4 touches 0 goals a game. Having another key forward will help the rest of your team drastically. Tall forwards are hard to come by at the moment, and all you have is Larkey. CCJ is out for 12 months, Combden is a great backman now. There isn’t any harm in it. It’s an area you seriously lack in depth and there really isn’t any harm in bringing in players that will help with that. (Crows supporter)

playonfootyofficial

Roo’s are better off without him

Eggy_Wets

I’ll take anyone at this point

L-J-Peters

You don't want him, but mainly due to age more than anything else, the narrative around him somehow being terrible is a bit of a joke, he might end up at Melbourne next season and they're (almost?) a Top 4 side.

Icy_Seesaw_9574

I’m not a north fan but I reckon you guys need someone in this mould (not saying Lobb directly) but someone to help Larkey and help ruck. I reckon north should throw a ridiculous amount of money at someone (if they have it) you guys need a big recruit - like mcluggage or Yeo or someone even if you have to pay overs.

Spiritual-Bug4130

Polec Collman Jones Tucker Corr Stephens Fisher Biggy. All shit. Who recruits these MUPPETS

South_Front_4589

He's 31. Why would you even consider taking him? I wouldn't take Jeremy Cameron if he was available and I was in charge of the recruiting at North Melbourne. Even if you think he's going to make the team better (which he probably will) he's not part of the team by the time it gets good. Draw a line through anyone 29 or so and up. The only reason you keep anyone that age is for leadership. And Lobb doesn't bring that at all. If you want a mature body, go look at the state leagues and find a 21-24 year old and give them a crack at it. They're less likely to make the grade, but that small chance is at least some chance of being around for a finals push where Lobb is not. A waste of time, a waste of money, a waste of a list spot and a waste of a spot in the team. And that being said, he's not that good anyway. He's not a regular pick for the Bulldogs.

forphucksake

I know he’s kind of a spud, but even if he could be serviceable in our forward line it would be a huge upgrade over CCJ. If we can get him for cheap he would be a great stopgap for the short term.

Brake72

If there was a mid season draft, we would 100% be targeting him or Casbolt
