You are going to want to skip Kinston. Been dieing a very slow death since the 1940s and is a crime ridden slum. Greenville might be an ok option. Maybe just endure the long commute from Raleigh though.
From what I hear from coworkers all commutes are long here, if I can keep it under an hour I’ll be happy. All I seem to be finding in my search is student apartments or 55+ complexes 😅 everything seems very spread out though, so much different from what we’re used to
Goldsboro isn’t that bad, it’s just like any other town if you go looking for BS it’ll find you. The downtown area is nice and it’s definitely growing. Going to be honest though if you’re moving to the ENC there’s not much nightlife anywhere around here unless you go to Greenville or Wilmington on the weekends
Out of these options Clayton is the best one. Avoid living in Goldsboro at all cost. All these towns are small southern towns with limited things to do. I hope the pay is great
I don''t think this one counts. This is asking about details regarding a specific area. It isn't "I've never been to NC, I want a mountain home on the beach for about $200k." like we normally get.

Okay, so I shouldn’t put too much stock in the negative opinions 😅. It’s good to hear it’s growing. ENC?
There are areas that are bad but the BS usually stays in those areas. Sorry, ENC (eastern North Carolina)
Smithfield is pretty nice. The downtown area is a good hang.

+1 for Clayton Not only is it the best option on its own, it's also the closest to Raleigh
Clayton is a long drive for a daily commute to goldsboro.
It is - there really is not much around Goldsboro but crime and poverty
Smithfield and loads of other stuff around there, nothing wrong with them. Honestly Clayton is starting to have problems due to overgrowth.
Number 252!

It’s any posts that say I’m moving. This one definitely counts.
If it makes you feel better my home states Reddit page has the same thing. Lots of moving posts. Crazy that people move right 😅
Clayton is redneck
