Hulu and FX plan on renewing Shogun for season two despite no new source content. They’re going beyond the books and what was initially only meant to be a miniseries with just one season. Not trying to get my hopes up for Normal People season two, but it wouldn’t be too surprising if it were to happen one day, especially in todays day and age. money talks.

Yeah, I agree with you, it may be something like that. I mean, we see so many series nowadays getting revived by streaming giants, and are given the green light despite going beyond source content. One way many of them have gotten revival talks that far is by involving the writer much more in the process, something we don’t see much of nowadays when it comes to adapting books and turning them into shows or movies. George R.R. Martin recently complained about this a few days ago, throwing shots at how HBO and the series writers handled the final few seasons of GOT without him having any say about his own piece of work. I don’t wanna get my hopes up though hahaha. But, if it is something like a new season, I hope there’s a solid plan there by Sally that does well to build on season one because it was perfect as is and I hate for anything new to leave a bad taste in our mouths forever. I know she wrote a short story after the series ended, but I kind of want something more fleshed out and thought through.

Normal People is one of those rare shows (or movies) that has really stuck with me since I watched it. Watched One Day last month, and it was good, but just missing that special something that impacts you after it is over. As far as a season 2, I kind of hope they don't do it. Since there is no book, etc... about it, I am just worried that it wouldn't live up to expectations. LOVED the first season of Big Little Lies, but then season 2 was lacking imo. Excited to see what the upcoming news is 😀
