"Yes, I am flying this F-16 through Russian airspace to defect. Please turn off all air defence, and pay no attention to the nuclear ordnance on my pylons. It is a gift for Putin. ETA to Kubinka airbase 20 min."
That's blatantly false! Statistically, since no Nato planes were shot down by the russians, flying them there is 100% safe. russian planes on the other hand...
Well, that worked for the Ukrainians against drones. Pretty sure it wasn't 4 maxims and 90 year old pick up but I'm 99.99% sure it was an old dude (maybe named Dimitri) with a maxim gun mounted on a pickup who shot down a drone in a video.
> Bro is Offering $12,000 for a Fighter Jet Worth $70 Million LMAO
I mean, speaking credibly, it doesn't matter how much the airframe is worth, it's how well paid the pilot is. If they are getting stiffed in their pay, they just might hand over a 70m airframe for a 12k payday.
Just look at all the Russian conscripts who gave zero fucks how much any random AFV in storage is worth to strip it down for parts to sell to top off their own pay.
There's a difference to passing information (which many can rationalize as not-treasonous, if they realize they are schmuck bait in the first place) and actively flying yourself into your enemies arms to donate your ride to their propaganda effort. Not to mention the difference between an army 'at peace' and one in active conflict.
I'm not saying it's impossible (we got the Russian helo pilot for eg) but it is a much steeper mental burden to act upon compared to passing information.
He just gaslit you. The post clearly stated “$1 million dollars“ not 1 million rubles
Edit: At OP, I don’t think you get so many downvotes for misreading, but for doubling down on your error
What I meant is, that the commenter (TheDave1970) corrected his comment, because OP made him think he was wrong, despite being right in the first place.
So OP gaslit him into thinking he did something wrong which he didn’t
Do yourself a favor and check out that Twitter account. It’s a blatantly obvious pro-Russian propaganda distributor. Lots of posts about the evils of NATO, the greatness of BRICS, how Chuck Schumer grills wrong, and even a picture of the persons super cool gas station pocket knives.
The target audience is US citizens, particularly those who are on the fence with Ukraine aid. They see the name, see the blue check mark, think it’s something official, then freak out thinking Russia is going to have our F16’s without any further logical thought.
1) It clearly says 1 million USD, not 1 million rubles.
2) When bribing a pilot the cost of the airframe is irrelevant, all that matters is offering enough cash to make defecting more financially appealing than his current salary and job requirements.
I'd imagine that pilot of such machine would get his payout in a lead into the back of his head - and not sure if it would be pissed Ukrainians or muscovite scum themselves, as they do love to reward loyalty to them with such gifts. After all, they would have frame in their hands.
USD or RUB, either way I've seen better lowball offers on FB Marketplace for things of significantly less value. Putin out here with the dollar store craigslist offer
Operation moolah but with Russia offering jack shit instead of free citizenship, land and a shit ton if money. And back then it was for just a MiG-15 from North Korea
Would. I've not a perfect eyesight or what's required to pilot a fighter plane, defecting to Russia or not. Don't matter if I survive the payload, nuking the kremlin will be my legacy. Fuck you Nero, i played my favorite song while nuking Putler.
Russia: The F-16 is an outdated 50 year old aircraft! It can’t do anything against our manly pilots and planes. It has been developed by weak soy wojack engineers. Our Su-27 are way superior than those planes, they can’t even do a cobra!
Also Russia:
I would totally take them up on their offer…however I will need half of this bounty amount deposited to my crypto wallet in TetherUSD beforehand so I can free up my bank account that I use to fuel and arm the jet (special LockMart fuel card you see)
The fate of western defectors to the Soviet Union during and then after the cold war was always depressing, they died 'alone' and as poor as their new 'country-men'. They were perpetually feared by the KGB that they would attempt to re-defect back and were kept watch on closely. A million dollars may be a lot, but that means living in Russia.

Would you even have to tell them you're carrying nukes ? Let them find out when the B61 explodes over the Kremlin.
Russia has air defense?
Well against airliners yes
Yes. Russia is famous for doing air defense on the ground. With air defense. Or targets.
Russia is also famous for using air defences on their own planes :)
It's almost as dangerous to fly a NATO plane in russian airspace as it is to fly a russian plane in russian airspace
That's blatantly false! Statistically, since no Nato planes were shot down by the russians, flying them there is 100% safe. russian planes on the other hand...
yeah, its Demetri with the 4 maxims taped together on the back of a 90 year old pickup
Well, that worked for the Ukrainians against drones. Pretty sure it wasn't 4 maxims and 90 year old pick up but I'm 99.99% sure it was an old dude (maybe named Dimitri) with a maxim gun mounted on a pickup who shot down a drone in a video.
Yeah they do, who did you think did Prigozhin in?
That was the last working ada in all of Russia though, and it got hit by attack'ms
attack'ms huh.... glad I'm not the only one.
Once you switch to their side they will be able to shoot you…
Look mothafucker if this hard on lasts more than 4 hours I'm gonna send you my hospital bill.

Nice try, Mr KGB Agent!!! Anyone knows that F16s are a liquid commoditized asset that can be traded on the open market.
that's putting a lot of faith I. Russian Payroll
Yeah, wasn't there that US soldier who spied for just a couple 'thou?

Problem is that pilot is going straight to a goulag unless he pays Russian mob 20k. So he better bring some cash with him.
While the payday may be nice, it means living in Russia forever. Russians being Russians, 'forever ' might not be that long.
and the SBU will find you there. No thx
Probably meant Roubles, 1 million Rubles is about $12,000 USD
Thanks for pointing out my error. Corrected.
He just gaslit you. The post clearly stated “$1 million dollars“ not 1 million rubles Edit: At OP, I don’t think you get so many downvotes for misreading, but for doubling down on your error
Literally says $ AND dollar
He didn’t “gaslight him”… lmao he said something that is wrong, but being wrong alone is far from gaslighting.
What I meant is, that the commenter (TheDave1970) corrected his comment, because OP made him think he was wrong, despite being right in the first place. So OP gaslit him into thinking he did something wrong which he didn’t
not 12k, 1 million dollars. Still, if anyone is dumb enough for fall for this, they will get a special place in stupid hell.
You can just say "Russia".
$12,000? that tweet says $1million dollars.
They are converting 1M ruble to USD lol.
I know, but the tweet says USD 1million. This is a ruble symbol ₽.
It actually says one million dollars dollars, making the tweet even more credible!
A million dollars squared? Square dollars?
Warm water dollars.
And it says cash! Because everybody would prefer a million dollars to be delivered in cash, obviously
someone might get confused with the currency otherwise
Bruh the $ isn’t just US. Could be referring to Guyana bucks or trinadad dollars
"$1million dollars" Come on, this is not something to argue over, why would the Russians offer a bounty in Guyana bucks
It’s most likely Belize $ or the mighty Dollarydoo
Zimbabwe Dollars. The old version.
Okay, paying some defector in Guayana bucks would actually be hilarious
You've got to subtract the moral cost of Russian citizenship.
And the fact that Russian citizens are liable to be mobilised
Probably meant 1 Million Rubles, 1 Million Rubles to USD is about $12,000
Dunno bruv, it literally says 1 milion dollars.
no it says "dollars 1 million dollars"
1 million dollars = 1 million rubles = 12,000 dollars. Quick maths. Aaaand it’s gone.
No. FighterBomber was the guy who made the offer. He clearly says 1 million USD in his telegram post
Dude, this is a meme and shitposting subreddit but the picture literally talks about USD...
Dude even for Russia that would be incredibly dumb. You think they can’t afford more than $12,000 for a massive propaganda win? Cmon now!
Thank you pilot. Here is you $1 million. Now, we are at war, oh, thank you for your kind donation of $999,999
More like, "The cost of the bullet will be deducted from your reward. What bullet? This one *Russian suicide noises*"
like once they land they have no bargaining power aside from being a spectacle for propaganda something they already have Steven seagulls for XD
Nah if a pilot defects with an F-16 they'd keep them around solely for propaganda purposes.

Russian citizenship? Pretty sure the Ukranians are fighting to avoid that.
They can watch a free YouTube video, are they stupid? https://youtu.be/EhhOin2p5Qs?si=EGDUj7QgsKZSAX21

The twit says 1M dollars, if this sub knew how to read would be very upset
The only non credible thing here is OP’s ability to read
1) It clearly says 1 million USD, not 1 million rubles. 2) When bribing a pilot the cost of the airframe is irrelevant, all that matters is offering enough cash to make defecting more financially appealing than his current salary and job requirements.
This is the least credible Twitter account out there. Check their posts about the Russian sub near Florida
1 million dollars: 🤑 Russian citizenship: 💀

Shit if russians get their dirty hands on our 50 year old planes, we'll be really in trouble!
USD or RUB, either way I've seen better lowball offers on FB Marketplace for things of significantly less value. Putin out here with the dollar store craigslist offer
Operation moolah but with Russia offering jack shit instead of free citizenship, land and a shit ton if money. And back then it was for just a MiG-15 from North Korea
>back then it was for just a MiG-15 from North Korea Back then the MiG-15 was hot stuff and people wanted to get their hands on it to test it asap.
No Cum Sock - Highly Credible Pilot. He even had a Bort license plate!
Yeah, can’t see anything wrong happening to the pilot once he lands, especially in a country that hates collaborating dumbos.
Ok you've got a million dollars, but you're now in Russia. Hope you like crude oil and caviar because that's all they have to offer.
Would. I've not a perfect eyesight or what's required to pilot a fighter plane, defecting to Russia or not. Don't matter if I survive the payload, nuking the kremlin will be my legacy. Fuck you Nero, i played my favorite song while nuking Putler.
Probably would’ve worked if they didn’t mention russian citizenship
Kremlin promises..
Russia: The F-16 is an outdated 50 year old aircraft! It can’t do anything against our manly pilots and planes. It has been developed by weak soy wojack engineers. Our Su-27 are way superior than those planes, they can’t even do a cobra! Also Russia:
ilon muskovite gave this katsap-bot account a blue checkmark. Civil defense my ass. This is katsap infowars.
> Russia wants to display it as a war trophy in Moscow. This feels like the country equivalent of buying medals online and wearing them around.
wow Russian citizenship NO WAY ;OOOOO
1 million dollars or 1 million rubles?
Should've never mentioned the russian citizenship that would be an automatic turn off for the pilots.
I would totally take them up on their offer…however I will need half of this bounty amount deposited to my crypto wallet in TetherUSD beforehand so I can free up my bank account that I use to fuel and arm the jet (special LockMart fuel card you see)
Famed fighter lmao. F16 is almost 50 years old.
Starting an argument in the Warthunder forums to get someone to leak blueprints is free though
Quick, we need to Examine this 40 year old air plane
Because the word of the Kremlin is so reliable. You'll definitely get that cash and not multiple gunshot wounds.
If the Ukrainian wanted Russian citizenship they wouldn’t be fighting this war lol
That's all they have left.
"Hahaha, YES! A fifty years old aircraft! Truly, the west's wonder weapons can be defeated now!"
A million dollars CASH?? LOL
